No ability to create a Tab to pay for everything in one go. Every time we ordered food and drinks we need to pay separately. Very poor bar service and the food was lukewarm. Not good for groups. Not good for business people or team building groups

We found this pub while staying in the Keswick area and stopped for a drink and some food. There was space in the car park and the pub was comfortably full with plenty of table outside if we had wanted one. It was early evening and the service and the bar and to our table was efficient and prompt. Its... More

Food was of a low standard. Wasn't able to create a tab so had to pay for drinks / food for every round - given how we were a group of 11 this was a pain. Wouldn't even take advance payment or place a card as a deposit. Went to raise concern and suggestion for improved service to barman and... More

We have stayed at the Fish every year for the last 17 years. Perfectly situated for fell walking and climbing. Stunning views. Friendly staff who make you feel at home and part of the family from the moment you arrive. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. Just a short drive into Keswick but you can actually climb and explore sell day... More

We try to have lunch at The Fish at lease half a dozen times a year. The location, in between Buttermere and Crummock Water is beautiful, with views to the hills all around, and there's always a warm welcome from the staff. The food is simple 'pub grub' but well cooked and presented and at very reasonable prices. If you're... More

We stopped here during our Lake District tour. The leeks and potato soup was very good. It comes with a nice piece of bread (almost half a baguette) and it is very tasty. The surroundings are very picturesque with many sheep around which makes for some interesting photo opportunities.

We eat lunch here every time we are on holiday in the Lake District. We only have sandwiches and chips but we can always rely on the following; very good customer service, it's nice to be asked in a pub if your food is OK when you are eating it, good quality food served promptly and efficiently. Worth a visit... More

Visited pub at lunchtime during a walk around Crummack Water. Good selection of ales and decent bar menu. My wife and I both choose Jacket Potato, with different toppings, which came on a large plate with plenty of salad and coleslaw, well worth the money. Good friendly staff.

Stayed here overnight last week, excellent family run hotel. Rooms were clean and had all the facilities required (no TV at all in this hotel or mobile phone reception). The view from our room (7) was absolutely stunning. Private parking and wifi (as good as most other hotels) were also provided. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was freshly... More

Beautiful location, waking up to the views across Buttermere was breathtaking. We found the rooms clean, traditional and great to escape from the TV for a couple of days. Food was lovely, decent sized portions and three good choices for vegetarians. We had packed lunches for our walks and they were more than enough to keep us going. Staff were lovely, helpful and very... More
