First time here took our mum for 80th and she was really impressed.... Large portions, good tasty food..we ate in the bar which was warm and cosy ...we would definitely go again.. This pub is right in the heart of Buttermere...car parking is plenty...we had gammon and it was amazing and the pudding was huge ...well worth the money. This... More

For a beautiful drive in the Lakes District it is hard to go past the Honister Pass. It takes you through some breathtakingly beautiful countryside. I stopped at this little inn along the way for a pint and s warm bowl of soup. Nothing fancy but very tasty. A good place to stop for lunch.

Excellent service, spotlessly clean, fabulous views all makes for a perfect stay. Added to that, no phone signal and no TV makes it even better. Please don't change anything, this family run hotel has it just right and I wouldn't want it any different. I didn't ask the name of the daughter in law who looked after us but your... More

Stopped here for lunch. Huge portions for under £10 Some of the dishes offer a smaller portion and its probably a good idea. I had a small steak pie and it was great, with big pieves of beef. Good basic pub fare to replenish your batteries after a day on the fells. I found the staff to be attentive and... More

Great food, fantastic surroundings, brilliant atmosphere.. why wouldn't you want to visit Buttermere, and call into the Fish inn for your lunch? Brilliant presentation of food, chips in steel baskets, excellent service. oh.. the beer was spot on too.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely place and great location. The only thing that spoiled our stay were a couple of the bar staff who's English was very poor or non existent . I understand the need for employing people, but if they don't speak the language, don't have them serving at the bar.

Stayed here for one night. The setting is very good - fantastic views. My single room was OK, clean and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the wifi is limited and apparently too many guests using it when I tried so no joy. Got it the next day. Mobile reception also is limited and no TVs in the rooms. So, good if you... Had pub lunch here last week, had half roast chicken n chips, chicken was pale and very bland, plenty of it though and chips were good except so dry as there's no gravy or sauce served with it, it's a shame as potential was there, drinks were reasonable and staff nice

Yesterday we broke down 2 hours away from home with our 8 week old baby, car wouldn't start when we were trying to leave after husband finished triathlon. So we waited in the pub at the finish line from 2.30pm - 10pm. We ordered food and waited and waited for the AA. Baby was getting agitated, crying and cluster feeding... More

We didn't eat or stay here but went for a drink one evening at about 9pm whilst staying in the nearby Bridge Inn. It was deserted with only 4 other people. The decor is run down and like a town pub lacking any character for a traditional lakeland pub. This place could be so much better being situated in a... More
