I spent a night in Waipu on my way travelling to Tauranga/Coromandel. This campsite is in a beautiful location of Te Taitokerau, the campgrounds were well maintained with clean communal kitchens and toilets/showers. I stayed in a powered tent site and paid 22 dollars for my nite which i was very happy to pay. The beach is right there with beach accesses dotted thru the campsite. I do highly recommend this campsite you'll be greeted by very friendly helpful staff... Thanku Camp Waipu for having me, u are on my radar now n i will be back

My family and I recently stayed in one of the cabins. It was perfect for us. Camp Waipu Cove is fab! The staff and especially the house keeping/cleaning crew are super friendly. They do a wonderful job of maintaining the camp to a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the camp ground. It was a pleasure walking into a camp bathroom that was so clean, smelt nice and had music gently playing in the background. Truly a great stay had by myself and the family. The kids loved the play ground and the proximity of the beach and it's warm waters. We will be back! Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Had a lovely weekend at Waipu Cove Camp. Nice big sites, friendly staff, clean facilities. The camp is situated right on the beachfront which makes going for a swim easy and then straight back to the hot showers. Highly recommend this camp.

From the point we arrived the Camp office personal were very freindly and helpfull.
It was great to have more than 1 play ground for our Grand children, plenty of water tapes to wash sand off, plenty of ablution blocks spaced in great positions, close to beach and kids can ride their bikes there, awesome. Walking distance to Dairy, Take aways (were great too) and a restraunt which was also awesome.
The price included all power usage, free to use hot showers, washing machines, wifi, couldnt ask for much more. Thank you Camp Waipu we have booked again already.

Such a well set up camp ground you can leave a lot of your camping gear at home. Well equipped kitchens include fridges, bbqs, sinks and fresh chilled water filters. Excellent, clean showers and toilets. Tennis court., beach volleyball and games room for kids. Lots of little touches at this campsite that make it special, no wonder it is impossible to book in peak summer. In addition all the staff we interacted with were lovely and helpful.

Set on a pristine beach that stretches for miles, Camp Waipu Cove is every bit as pristine as it’s surroundings. Camp sites are large, the kitchen is huge and well equipped and the showers are spotless with hot water a-plenty. The staff are very friendly and full of helpful tips on where to go and what to do. We absolutely loved it and highly recommend it!

We camped on a powered site. It was 4 days of great clean facilities, friendly helpful staff and an amazing beach! The beach is clean with white sand and waves big enough to boogie board or surf. We didn't have to pay to take a shower and everything is kept neat and tidy.

This was our second stay at Camp Waipu Cove, both times we've stayed in a cabin. The cabin was clean, no stains or marks anywhere. The bed was comfortable with the sheets being crisp and plenty of pillows to choose from. The shower pressure was the best, with additional towels plus a hairdryer. The staff were friendly and are available if you need them. The camp itself is very clean and well laid out, it encourages you to recycle with having all the recycling bins clearly labelled. They were building the new cabins right beside us but we were not at all inconvenienced. Just now looking forward to being able to book one of them at Christmas time. Love Camp Waipu Cove.

Stayed here during COVID Alert level 2. The facilities were spotless. Contactless entry was well arranged and effortless. The campground is set up very well. Imagine it is a popular spot during the summer months. We will return in the future 😊

Hi there, I'm sorry but unfortunately dogs are not allowed on site. We are on DOC land right next to a bird reserve; a nesting ground for the New Zealand Dotterel, Variable Oyster Catcher and New Zealand Fairy Tern. If you would still like to come and stay with us please give us a call on 09 4320410 and I can put you in touch with a local dog homestay.
