We were due to join our friends' yacht for a week on 4 September but the captain's wife developed Covid-19 five days before this which meant we needed somewhere to stay for two nights. We directed our taxi driver from Kalamata Airport to stop here and we met the charismatic Nikos who welcomed us in. We were given a fine sea facing room which we liked a lot. We enjoyed the stroll to the sandy beach and we had a lunch and two evening meals at the beach restaurant. Breakfasts were very good and we enjoyed chatting with Nikos who kindly dropped us off at the beach with our luggage on our last day from where we were collected in our friends' yacht. A fine start to a memorable 17 day Greek trip!

Double room for 35 euro (at the end of July) with a fridge, airconditioning and tv. Clean. Just on the outer parts of Koroni. Second time in this hotel because it provides basics, you don't have to spend a fortune to sleep and you spend your entire day at the beach or on excursions nearby.
The wider area of this part of Messinia is unquestionably one of the best parts of Greece.
Sure the shower is small, and perhaps the bathroom door a bit broken, or perhaps in some rooms there is no shower-head holder, but if someone needs to save money these are the least that trouble him. It is all a matter of priorities each time.
Standard breakfast (not really something worthwhile) but I ate breakfast at the cafes' of Koroni.
Clean sheets, clean towels, pleasant personnel. TV with greek programms, If you are not a native and would like to stay indoors, perhaps you should have a book with you to spend your time.
Sure I would like them to fix things that are broken. But I don't mind for example the ugly wires to dry my clothes (again, a matter of priorities). As long as they do the job, they are fine for me.

Excellent value for your money. Staff was very accomodating. Breakfast was good, but did not have great selection to choose from. Very close to the town and the beach.

Never again! We booked a room a month in advance via phone, confirmed the same day as arrival, and found ourselves without a room! The reception staff told us a fairy tale about our room A/C being broken, no other room being available, and tried to send us elsewhere. The worst part is that we were returning to the Zagamilos for the third year in a row and as repeat customers they should have treated us better. Unreliable! Never again!

Very bad experience. The stuff was actually nice and we picked this hotel because it was one of the few with a nice web-site. Despite of that almost everything else went not the right way. The room was unclean, the double-sized bed was actually not big enough for two people, the television had a very poor selection of channels and the image was shadowed. The balcony was fine, but with ugly wires to dry clothes and each of the four chairs broken. The bathroom was terrible: small, with old and unfixed furniture, the water temperature was impossible to adjust, the fan noisy and a very strong smell coming back out of the pipes. The interior freshly (and badly) painted didn't hide all old holes and electric wires. To finish the breakfast was composed by: coffee, one cake, one juice, bread and marmalade, all the days always the same (no milk, no tea, no water...). Is that enough?

At 55 euros for two, including breakfast (2010), this hotel was really good value for money. The staff were very friendly. Our spacious room was equipped with twin beds, TV (which we did not watch), a fridge, a well-equipped bathroom with shower and more than enough bath linen (plus soap). It had a very nice balcony with two fine chairs and a table, overlooking the sea. All facilities were nice and clean. We've really enjoyed our stay.

Help, help ! This is NOT about ZAGA BEACH, but about ZAGA MILOS (not listed) that I wish to talk about...
Imagine Koroni as a ship's prow, or an animal spine, so Saga Milos would be riding this animal, the town centre on one side, the sea with long cinnamon coloured sand on the other. Again do keep in mind there are TWO ZAGA hotels in Koroni : Saga Beach for lazy foreigners, the other, well, for the unlikely customer ready for an experience and fond to be mostly surrounded with Greek couples, families, persons (in Greek a person is an "atom"). No frills, no Italian designer, no petals on your bed : efficiency, cleanliness, back to basics. Without giving up thick towels. Thirty rooms around and above an atrium, open space with a, yes, basic reception desk, and a voice calling up loud Maria, Vania, Nenni, Vassoula : so many birds singing in a cage (in Greek "i klouvi") fretting to quick, sharp, affectionate (and no, in no way angry) orders from their 40 yr old, US raised, bachelor (any family ? not that I know of, was the answer) and one of a kind manager, Nikos. Energetic, exhausted and sparkling, taking up his father George's business, George who travelled all over the States in the sixties and met his wife in Athens ten years later, before opening Zaga Milos. Professional, ready to advise you (any music night ?) with the exact, adequate distance. Excellent quality price. No frills. Remember, no frills. Remember, this is NOT Zaga Beach. Use your legs.Polish up your Greek, even 10 words...

We stayed two nights at this welcoming hotel. It is a steep walk (in parts, not all of the way!) up the hill from the town to the hotel (about 10-15 minutes) but you are rewarded by the hotel's fine views and peaceful location. A taxi would cost only a couple of Euros. The beach is a ten minute walk away. The owners were pleasant and very helpful. The rooms were not fancy but offered standard facilities and were clean. Everything worked. Breakfast was Continental and there was plenty of it. The price represented good value. Recommended.

The owner George and his son were very hospitable and friendly. This is a family run hotel. A/C, wifi, balcony, screened windows was included. Rooms were clean but the traditional smaller size. We rented a double and two twin rooms and this was good. We arrived mid day and ate next door at their restaurant. The food was very good, green beans, red beef, Greek salad, eggplant salad etc.. Breakfast was included continental style: hard boiled eggs, cereal, ham, cheeses, toast, American coffee and juice. The only thing was that the a/c for our room was abut loud at night. Great views of Zaga beach and close to Koroni town. Great stay and price!

We stayed in a nice room, with a sea view for two nights.
The beds were very comfortable.
You can't walk directly to the beach,it's about 15 minute walk.
The walk into the village is also about 15/20 minutes.
It is not easy walking back in the evening. The steps are steep and uphill.
