Staying in room 101, with a terrific and spacious balcony, I can only recommend this place. The location is uphill (about 2km down to the beach, nice exercise if you are into it, as i am), and has a fine view of the sunset. Pool is not olympic sized but fine for doing some laps ( I think its about 20m length). Rooms are clean, fairly spacious, mini-bar/fridge, large beds, tv, safe, bath/shower.In particular, the staff of this hotel should be complimented. These days there is a lot more to do but Effy (excuse the spelling) and Elena manage things very well. Also, the reception staff were very helpful, organising rental car, taxis, etc. Didn't try the food beyond having a greek salad one evening, but if that was any guide, the rest should be good to. Breakfast is a buffet, well stocked. I see some posts suggesting it being noisy. IMHO its not, but I guess occupancy was low.

Bottom line: Stay here.

This place looks like a ‘lost glory’: what a great view on the bay, but the rooms are dark, without any tea or coffee, no ironing possible in the room, only rooms at the top floor (why such a huge restaurant area with this little amount of rooms). The rooms simply need a new set of bright paint and the bathrooms look very old fashioned.
The pool itself is great, describing (as they do) it as an infinity pool requires a lot of imagination. In other words, this is far from being a 4 star hotel. At their defense: all is clean and functional. The driveway to the lobby is very steep, but there is plenty of parking space.
Breakfast was OK, but not more than that. E.g. coffee is American coffee only (with the typical drip coffee you as you find it in the USA), and on top of that: the coffee was not very warm.

I’m still a bit puzzled by the hotel configuration: if it is meant for e.g. weddings, the place is great as guests can sleep at the same location. That is, if the number of guests are limited. They have +/- 2- rooms in total.

The view from the pool was so comfortable and amazing that we camped out for the afternoon and ordered food and drinks at surprisingly reasonable prices. The hotel was lovely and spacious...and a bargain. It was the perfect setup for a relaxing break during a lot of moving around and seeing sights.

Just had a horrible experience with the Belvedere after a very much looked forward to 6 nights in a panoramic suite.
We entered the suite after we checked in and it’s steaming hot, we thought no big deal of it and reduced the AC temperature to cool it down, an hour later nothing happened.
After a back and forth with reception and even the owner I believe came to check the suite, we were asked to move to a temporary room until it gets fixed.
Went down for dinner at the restaurant and there was no one, when we asked the staff we were told that because the AC is not working inside the restaurant all guests are either in their rooms or out in town. At that point we thought this is not the relaxing holidays we’ve been waiting for, paying for a premium suite at a premium rate and basics are not even met. We told reception that we would leave the next day because our expectations and what was promised on the hotel booking.com page is not met. We told them that we will stay in the same temporary room no need to move us to the suite for that one night, but at over 11 pm when we are ready for bed we get called to tell us that suite is now ok. At that point sleepy, frustrated and tired we said no need we will sleep in the temporary room.
Next day we left on the promise that we should coordinate with booking.com to cancel and the hotel would refund.
To our horror a day later, booking.com is telling us that the hotel won’t refund the remaining of our stay. Just outrageous, even after the guy at reception (George) told my husband yes they would.
The booking was not even prepaid or restricted. We left because the hotel failed to provide basic facilities and proper problem handling. Utterly shocked by the way the hotel is handling this, it is just Robbery in broad day light.

A lovely family hotel but some distance out of katamala , It was very quiet and never saw many other guests ! Unfortunately it’s way up on a hill and a car is required ! But this gives wonderful views from all rooms ! The hotel is lacking in atmosphere but beautiful flower arrangements everywhere ! The lights in the lifts are very strong and unpleasant but really lovely otherwise ! A very sudden and dangerous turn into the hotel with a difficult path up to the hotel ! But worth it fir the views ! Service was good for Greece !

We received a very warm welcome from the staff on arrival and were given a spacious room with extra large bed and large balcony, giving fantastic views over the bay. This is a modern hotel situated on high ground a short drive from the beach and central Kalamata, so a car is recommended. However the general aspect is very good indeed and being away from traffic noise is an added bonus. There is a good size swimming pool and the views from the pool area are magnificent. As we arrived during low season the restaurant was not serving evening meals but the buffet breakfasts were very good with plenty of variety.
Deffinately 4 to 5 star qualty and highly recommended.

We stayed there 10 days and can imagine to stay longer. Clean and new hotel, smíing staff, wonderful view of
Kalamata city and bay, good starting point for exploring south of Peloponesse. And not forget Kalamata olive oil!
One remark: car necessary!

I love this hotel with a capital Love. Getting there is worth the drive or taxi. From the minute you walk up you know it's going to be a good stay. The staff is amazing. The design of the hotel is awesome and aww inspiring the design flaw is there is only 20 rooms. It was almost sad because we had the hotel with like one other couple. The rooms are big and beautiful huge private balconies for each room. The elevator is all glass and runs very well. They have huge breakfast area and conference room which they don't have enough rooms to fill even with max capacity in my opinion. Every thing was very elegant and organized. They have a cozy little library to relax or nice lounge area. The pool was super duper nice with amazing views. Which is what this hotel is all about Views of Kalamata. I honestly wish I could have changed my trip plans to stay at this hotel longer and I haven't said that about any hotel until now. I can't say enough about the staff, Sophia was especially amazing and I miss her already. Out of all my reviews and picture I hope this one gets to the right people and they make the trip to Kalamata to stay here. It is definitely a hidden Gem. I read some other reviews complaining about dry wall or hole in the walls. The stair case is being remodeled and they were missing some trip and paint. But it's a staircase so who cares most people use the elevator. It was obvious it was be fixed soon. Most of the hotel is in beautiful marble to the floors to the staircase.

Heres what bothers me about the internet. Most sheep like people like myself will go to Paris, Rome, Athens, Vienna when all they have to do is go to Greece. I would trade all my stops on my trip to have just went to Greece. I have had the most epic adventure this last 40 days but would give it all back to have spent all that time in Greece. Greece is the most amazing country i've seen and can't say enough and this hotel is one of the reasons. Please visit the Belvedere if in Greece I swear you won't be disappointed. Once again thanks for taking the time to read this review.

A fantastic new hotel

A short trip this time, just for a day away from the hustle and bustle of Athens to visit some relatives.
We chose this hotel for our overnight stay mainly due to the fact that it is one of the newest hotels around Kalamata, enjoying a magnificent view over the Messinian Bay and an ideal location near the area’s best beaches, cafés, bars and restaurants, while preserving at the same time a fair distance from Kalamata’s noisy centre and waterfront.
We arrived late at the hotel, as we had spent the entire day at the beach, and as we realized there was a wedding party taking place at the hotel at that time. Even though the parking lot was crowded with all the wedding guests’ cars, we were lucky enough to find a place available very close to the main entrance. It required a small effort, especially when being tired after a day full of water activities, to walk up the slope to the hotel’s entrance, but when we reached the reception desk, the receptionist greeted us warmly and helped us complete all the needed paperwork quickly. Our rooms were ready of course, and luckily there were no other guests waiting to check in so we didn’t even have to wait at all.
We went straight to our rooms, and as I opened the door I realized that it was probably one of the biggest and nicest rooms I have ever stayed at. Wooden floor, wooden ceiling, great lighting, and an enormous bathroom. The bed was very big too, equipped with an excellent mattress, and a huge set of pillows. The air-conditioning system was working perfectly, and it didn’t take long before the room was cool enough for my standards. As I realised, the air-conditioning system was designed in such a way that it wouldn’t waste energy cooling the room when no one is there. There was a sensor that would turn the air-conditioning system off when sliding the window door open. A very thoughtful concept, that I hadn’t seen implemented at any other hotel I’d stayed at. When I opened the curtains I encountered a fantastic evening view over the bay. The sliding window doors where almost as wide as the room itself, guiding you out to a balcony, almost as big as the room too. At the balcony you could relax at a small couch, enjoying a cup of coffee, or a light dinner, or choose to work or dine more formally at the small dining table available. Truly one can argue about the room’s size, but that of the balcony is definitely unsurpassed.
The bathroom was immensely big, and fully equipped with all the amenities one would need. Everything, from a great olive oil based hand soap, to a shaving kit was available. I truly enjoyed my shower, but it would be useful to install a glass cabin around the tub, in order to avoid having to wipe all the water from the bathroom floor thereafter. The small window at the bathroom ensured that no steam is trapped inside, turning it into a sauna, while at the same time preserving maximum privacy to those using it.
The morning was hot, but having breakfast by the pool was a great choice that we didn’t regret. We could choose from a great variety of both warm and cold dishes, having a mixed american-continental breakfast. From local recipe jam and fresh fruit to croissants and crepes, one could taste both the local flavour of traditional greek breakfasts and an international option equal to four star hotel standards.
The check out procedure was equally fast and professional to the check in one, and we were warmly thanked and wished a pleasant and safe trip back home.
Overall I would say that our choice couldn’t be any better. The staff was excellent, discreet, professional and attending. The rooms were great, and even though a huge wedding party was going on during the night a couple of floors below, and further atop the hill one can find some of the area’s best nightclubs that attract waves of loud Greeks and tourists, we could hear absolutely nothing. The night went on silently and tranquilly, and the morning wake up was even better.
The only thing I could say is that I hope we could have stayed there longer and not just for one night.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. They provided us with accurate information regarding beaches and restaurants as well as what to see in terms of sight-seeing.
The hotel was extremely clean and quiet with a magnificant view. The food was great. As a young couple we were very pleased. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
