just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel, what a waste of a potentially great hotel, room was o k but o k is not good enough!,decor and fittings dreadfully dated, biggest disappointment was the evening meals, obviously made to a price,no doubt set by the greedy tour operators, when will they learn that all theyre doing is driving customers away?,well theyve just driven this one{ and his family } away.such a shame, with a little effort it could be so much better, are you listening management ??? .

My boyfriend and I stayed here from 31st July to 10th August (10 days) All/I. When we first arrived we were shocked by the limited choice of food, both me and my partner are not fussy eaters but both agreed we would probably get better food in prison!! As the days went on it got better... breakfast was a good selection and lunch was OK chicken nuggets and chips, snack menu was also a bonus so we didn't starve, however, they didn't have any authentic Cypriot food as that's what we like when we go abroad, but you can't please everyone.

We thought it was strange that between 5 and 7pm they stopped serving food, it was not the best as we normally got back from our day out between these times and were hungry. There was a good choice of alcoholic drinks on All/I menu... we got our monies worth... and very strong, we found that when we went out for drinks at local bars they were all watered down especially beer on draft.

The room (an apartment) was big but basic, on the other hand, we hardly spent much time there so it wasn't that bad. However, towels were changed every other day if your lucky I had to ask reception for clean towels once as they had not changed them in two days, and the sheets on the bed we just swapped (top on bottom, bottom on top).

Staff need to smile more, I was disgusted with the staffs attitude, they looked like they did not want to be there at all. Some of them were OK but the majority especially reception staff and a few waitresses just didn't care at all, we figured it was because we were English and 90% of the other guests were Russian!!

Entertainment was very much for the kids, there was good dancers and a magic show was pretty good, however, very short. The entertainment would start at 9pm and finish at 9.45pm which ment there was nothing to do but listen to Russian music :( not my idea of fun when I'm on holiday. We went to Windmills just up the road couple nights and Protaras. Ayia Napa isn't far which was good atmosphere and a great night out.
However, if you are planning on going to Ayia Napa for the night DON'T go to Teasers bar 20 euros it cost for a malibu and lemonade and a rum and coke... we were not impressed!! But, it ended up being a good night with free entry to castle club before 11:30pm.

Overall, our holiday was great we ate out on most evenings and did the jeep safari... which was very expensive for what it was, the lunch was the best part which was an extra 12 euros each. We went to the water park which was a good laugh and Nicossia shopping which was an experience going to the turkish boarder. The boat trip to Famagusta was also amazing, with swimming stops in blue lagoon!!
The hotel was OK for what we did, at the end of the day we didn't plan to spend everyday in the hotel so it was great for the money we spent on it, just wish it had better evening entertainment or at least better music.

Hope you enjoy your trip!!

Have just returned from the Elamaris and have a bit of a mixed review. This is most definitely the place to be for kids despite the fact there is no Karl this year, there are two more than adequate replacement in Adam & Becks. There is so much going on kids will just never get bored. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for adult entertainment. At 10pm, there is supposed to be something geared more towards the parents. One evening we had an ‘adult comedian’ who was quite simply the worst comedian I have seen, not even remotely funny – anyone else that was there will surely testify this! The standard of the rooms, in my opinion, was a little disappointing. There was mould under the wash hand basin taps, the shower curtain looked as if it had been there since 1950 and in all the room was fairly sub-standard. You can rent a TV for 7 CYP a week but the block we were in did not get a signal so that was a non-starter. The sunbed situation is a joke – if you are going during the school holidays you have had it, take your own!! Thomsons have put notices up stating that no sunbeds were to be ‘reserved’ before 9 am and that any towels left on beds for over 45 mins would be removed. This was never enforced and I don’t think they have the intention of ever enforcing it.

The rooms at night are also very noisy so if you have a young family and want to call it a day before midnight, you will be disturbed by noise up until then. There were also quite a lot of teenagers running about until late at night, not causing any trouble I hasten to add but pretty high spirited. The area around the hotel is fairly limited and you are a good 25min walk from Protaras. Personal favourites in Pernera for food were Davidos, Noufaro & last but most definitely not least was the Phoenix Bar up the hill (formerly Spartacus.) The Phoenix is the best place in Pernera for breakfast (and excellent evening meals too.) Hired a car from Doros car hire across the road. We found them fairly expensive (discovered after the event) and also if you do use them, go after 4pm, as the woman at the desk in the earlier part of the day was far from helpful. To summarise the Elamaris, fantastic for kids, loads of activities and entertainment for them but not enough to keep us adults amused.

we went to cyprus as we had a wedding there. booked in this hotel and was a bit worried after reading the reviews. the hotel was very clean and maids cleaned every day and very happy. the food was very good and plenty of choice. the pool was very clean and plenty of sunbeds. staff were all friendly and helpfull especially jo and agnes. agnes was brilliant with the kids and nothing was ever too much for her. we met some good friends there and will definatly be going again next year. just dont believe all the bad reviews you read about this hotel as it is a good , clean and friendly hotel

My partner and i have just returned back after our week stay at this hotel. Upon our arival it looked ok but it was the middle of the night. The reception was very dark ( ok its night time) but the little chap hiding behind the reception wasn't very helpful. We got to our room and all we wanted was our bed. The next morning it kind of hit us!!! The bed room floor was dirty and full of stains, an iron print on the floor next to the bed. The bathroom was no better, the shower was rusty, the taps were rusty, the bath was discusting, the sink was very dirty. The patio door wouldn't lock, the curtains were ripped. The balcony rail was loose. Shall i stop or would you like to see for yourself????

First thing to note the Hotel is in a smaller resort than Protarus called Pernera. The resort has lots of restaurants and bars on your doorstep in fact you will be spoilt for choice in a week, which we were. The hotel is ideal for a relaxing break in Cyprus. It gives you easy access to Protarus, Cape Greco, Ayia Napia and Famagusta, more about this later. Weather was excellent. The hotel was clean, the apartments spacious with plenty room to cook small meals and breakfasts. We did not have the hotel food as such a great choice and loads of offers eating out. The staff especially the reception were very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel as a base for a relaxing week together with a bit of exploration, it was perfect for this and we would go again no problem. The hotel is not advised if you like lots of activity round the pool, lots of water polo, games quizzes etc, you know the sort of thing, it is pretty quiet during the day but it did not matter to us as we were out and about. Again at night we ate out so did not stay for the evening activities which tended to be bingo, karaoke, a parrot show and a magician, not really our cup of tea and it did look a bit low key. what I'm saying is that if you like this sort of thing, and I'm not being sniffy, then this hotel is probably not for you. For example if you are a bit limited as to mobility and need entertainment on site. One other thing is there is no wifi which is a shame. They have a 'coin in the slot' computer but this can be expensive. We used to go to the Windmill pub where they have free WiFi but you need to buy a drink of course, most of the bars have free WiFi in fact. The bars are generally great with all the sports on and there are lots of good restaurants. Steak and Ale house great, free wine before 8pm, Speedy Gonzales great Mexican, an excellent restaurant on the beach, began with a K, forget the name, loads in fact. We did go into Protarus once but did not need to really. There is a very pleasant walk along the beach which takes about 30mins with lots of nice restaurants and bars along the way. You must do the 'Red Bus' trip to Famagusta, the guide is brilliant and you get all the history of the invasion and the ghost town and get to see the deserted and bombed hotels from the beach, but no photos allowed!! The thought of people running for their lives having left all their possessions in the middle of a meal or shower while being shot at by planes does not bear thinking about! Very interesting city Famagusta also. So there you have it, great hotel and resort as a base to see a different part of Cyprus yes and the other info given by people holds, 1 euro bus to the water park and even Ayia Napia if you must. The hotel was great value I think we paid 13 pounds a person per night, (mid October) cheaper than many Youth Hostels! Well recomended!

As you can imagine, after booking the hotel I came across this site and was horrified and utterly terrified that the holiday was going to be a total nightmare and was partly regretting ever booking it.

However, I don't think the people writing these reviews are staying in the same hotel as us?!
It was a lovely stay all round. Myself and my partner stayed in the hotel for 7 nights all inclusive and love every minute we were there and didn't want to leave.
Though when we first arrived our fridge was broken, after letting reception know it was sorted within an hour and they were very apologetic to inconvenience us.
Rooms were spacious and immaculate with a cleaning service every day, beds were comfy and we were never woken by noise. Air con was a life saver because it was so hot this time of year and we never experienced any problems with it.

Service was good too, a couple of staff members who weren't top notch on the English, but this is too be expected and they always asked someone more fluent to assist. Lovely receptionist, Carla must be given a mention as she really helped with getting the know the area and with general questions.

Food was delicious, we actually were set on trying a few local restaurants however found it difficult to do so as every time we looked at what was on offer at the hotel we didn't want to go out. Lots of choice for vegetarians as well as those who eat meat, a lovely soup to start, three of four dishes to chose from for a main and then fruit and desserts for pudding.
Breakfast was lovely too, always a full English, cereal, toast, yoghurts and fruit to chose from.

I doubt anyone can fault the cleanliness of the hotel as it was the cleanest hotel i've ever stayed in, corridors always swept and pool area was gorgeous.
Area is good too, with bars, restaurants, doctors, shops, and a beach all within 5 minutes walking distance.

Entertainment was good, we don't usually base our holidays around hotel entertainment as we usually go out but walking past and seeing it, it drew us in nearly every night, the parrot show was far from boring and I have videos to prove it, I mean how is a parrot riding a bike boring?! The dance acts were brilliant too, and there was also a pool table, table tennis, air hockey and arcade games for the kids, not to mention a full size tennis court.
The negative reviews on here are very unfair and please don't let it put you off coming here, we had a lovely holiday and you really would be missing out! Everyone we spoke to were also happy with the experience though it is definitely worth going all inclusive as I heard the food and bar were quite expensive otherwise.

The hotel overall is clean and tidy. It is very near to a lot of good resturants. Bennigan's is a must to eat at. All the staff and reps in the hotel make you feel very welcome. The poolside entertainment is excellant, well done to Kim & Karl! There is different entertainment on every night. It is only about 15min walk into Protaris which is full of good pubs and cocktail bars. The shopping is good also. I would recomend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel and 90% of staff were awful. Food was awful, room stank of old fusty stuff, fridge would wake the dead.
My son was hospitalised for 4 days 2 of them unconscious from an ear infection and urine infection from the pool.
I was a lone parent and would never pick this Hotel unless you are DESPERATE!

I think dinner was 7pm- 9pm. the pool bar staff disappeared when the restaurant opened and served drinks in the restaurant bar. The food was ok as in "cafeteria/ uninspiring. Its a buffet style. If you are looking for classy restaurant standard you wont get it. The deserts are the same every day, we had jelly cubes, creme caramel and melon every day. its not fair to say its inedible, that's not the case, just bland.

Hi , we went hb , and only stayed 3 days thank god . The food was not what I class as good. Breakfast and evening meal was always cold , the choice was not good , the presentation was grim. Drinks in the package were awful ,we were glad we only went hb , even then we ate out. This hotel does not deserve its rating and travel companies know this , as I said we only stayed for 3 nights but everybody was complaining ,some people had stayed here previously and all said how run down and deteriated it had gone , not worth the money at all . If you want any more questions answering please ask . Had I booked through the major travel companies and paid their charges I would have claimed for a refund. This hotel is on its last legs , the travel companies know this but still sell it . Whist we were there several guests told us it nearly didn't open for this season ,my feeling is it should not have , pity eally because location is very good.
