Hotel's Favorite
My fiancée and I stayed at Sunrise Jade for 11 nights in late September and absolutely loved it. Sunrise Jade is a big part of why we have had such a wonderful holiday in Protaras.
Right from the check in process late at night, we felt the hotel went the extra mile for us. Everything was explained to us clearly, we were brought a refreshment and even had complimentary sandwiches waiting for us in our room due to missing dinner. We were also given a voucher to have the dinner we missed either on the day of our departure or substituted for lunch on a day of our choice. The porter was excellent and carried all bags to our room.
We had requested a sea view room on a higher floor and we were not disappointed. The hotel honoured our request and our room was fantastic, with large panoramic windows and a balcony with sensational views of the sea. The room (and the hotel generally) was always cleaned to a very high standard. I would say this is the only hotel I have ever visited where the room is actually better in the flesh than the marketing photographs suggest.
The bed was huge and very comfortable, the balconies are well divided so you have proper privacy. There is a good coffee machine and the fridge chilled everything well too. We had a very nice walk-in shower, two sinks and good quality shower/ shampoo products replenished each day.
Little things like the chocolates brought to guests' rooms each night and the electronic "please clean my room" or "do not disturb" symbols outside each room were nice touches, along with the allocated sunbeds which we felt worked well. On arrival you may not initially get the sunbed you want (we were still given the choice to choose a bed from those available though) but this is easily resolved as you can simply ask to for a new bed the following day/ later in the stay if you wish. This meant for a more refined feel as there was no mad rush for beds in the morning.
We used both outdoor pools which were nice and cool. The pools were deep enough and free from overcrowding to allow for swimming. There are also daily zumba and yoga classes held outdoors/ in the pool which was a nice feature.
The food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was great with all the usual assortments for a continental or full english breakfast. The orange juice was particularly good and tasted very fresh and prosecco and iced coffee were also available in addition to the usual. For dinner, we ate at the Sage Buffet restaurant all but one night. The themed nights kept things varied and the food was always very nice. The chefs were on hand to assist with any questions. I always had more than enough choice of food for dinner, but my fiancée is vegetarian and although there was always a vegetarian main, a little more choice might have been nice (especially more halloumi as it is such a Cypriot classic). That said we both always came away from dinner very full and happy!
The location for the hotel is perfect. It is close enough to walk into the main part of Protaras (walking along the road is probably quicker, but the lit path along the sea front which takes you to Fig Tree Bay is more pleasant!). As it is set out of the main strip there are no noise issues from bars etc, and the location is peaceful and relaxing. The beach outside the hotel is small and probably not the most suitable for sunbathing, but it is a great entry point into the sea for swimming and snorkeling. We saw the turtles four consecutive days which was incredible!
I can't comment on entertainment as that isn't really our thing but what we saw was always very tasteful and in keeping with the peaceful relaxing vibe of the hotel.
Staff were always helpful and a special shout out to the porters and cleaners who do an amazing job.
The only minor suggestions for improvement (but these are very minor and nowhere near enough to reduce our five star rating!) are that the air conditioning is a little loud in the room (but we still both slept well and have stayed in other similar hotels where it has been even louder), and the sound insulation between the neighbouring bathroom and our room could have been a little better.
To sum it up- the hotel was excellent and we would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything and the magical holiday memories you created!

Me and my husband have just come back from a great holiday in Sunrise Jade.
We arrived at almost midnight and still greeted by a warm welcome from the reception and a cold glass of fizz.
We paid for a sea view which is beautiful. The rooms are large and air con brilliant which was very much needed as it was so hot. The bathroom has a walk in shower and powerful. The bed is huge and very comfortable along with the pillows. Nipping clean. Cleaning staff in every day . The pools are great and sunbeds comfy. There is reservations on the sunbeds so you must collect towels first and they show you to yours beds for the week.
Pool drinks are quite pricey but after all it is a hotel after all and to be expected.
The food is good however slightly hectic on a morning if you leave it late. The other restaurants are all good apart from ginger, we were disappointed with the food there.
The reef has great food and football on the tv if that’s what you in to.
The staff were absolutely brilliant!!
The centre of protaras is a 10 min walk away with plenty going on in the evenings.
Overall a wonderful holiday and we will be back but maybe a swim up room next time even though they go in shade in the afternoon.
Overall a fan

You must stay here, the staff are amazing, nothing is too much and you are made to feel like one of the sunrise Jade family!
Our room (130) was clean and really modern, they give you free water everyday and chocolates and the first mini fridge is also free and is stocked with wine, soft drinks and beer. The bed is also super comfy and huge!
The food at the hotel is really nice, great selection at breakfast and within the restaurants the sunrise hotel group own.
The pool area is beautiful, you are allocated your own sunbed all week so there’s no rushing to get towels down, they also supply your towels so you don’t have wet ones in your suitcase at the end of the holiday and it’s a nice size hotel anyway so never too busy! The pool is also really warm in august!
There is also a small cove area about a 30second walk down so if you don’t want a beach day but want a dip in the sea (which is like bath water in august) and you love snorkelling (you can see the odd turtle if your lucky) this is perfect!!
The pool food and drinks are amazing especially the milkshakes and smoothies which are off menu but they can make!!
Reception staff are really knowledgeable of the area too, especially getting your return covid test (this is so easy please do not let this put you off booking a holiday in Protaras, the test centre is 20 walk away or a few minutes drive easy parking etc it takes 5 mins max to do), reception also booked restaurants and we’re lovely in letting us keep our room until we needed to go home.
We’ve had the best time and will definitely be going back I’ve just got off the plane and I’m looking at dates for next year already!!
A huge thank you to all the staff, reception, pool staff, bar staff, breakfast, the cleaning team! (I couldn’t name everyone as I mean everyone!) We’ve had the BEST time and didn’t want to leave!!

We stayed at Sunrise Jade as part of our honeymoon trip and couldn't recommend this hotel high enough. The property itself is gorgeous, modern design, 2 pools with very comfortable sun loungers, very spacious rooms with a walk-in shower. The room comes with a mini bar. However, there is no bottle opener, so you have to go down to the bar in order to open a drink. There are a few rooms with a separate pool (that is shared between those rooms), the area does become shaded after 15:00.
There is a small gym on the 1st floor. Gym opening hours are restricted from 09:00 until 18:00. There are 2 treadmills, however, one of them has been out of service for a couple of days during our stay.
Everyone is greeted by reception with a glass of sparkling on arrival which is a nice touch. Elena at reception has been wonderful and helpful throughout our entire stay there.
The pool area is lovely and very relaxing as it is an adults-only hotel. You choose a sun lounger at the beginning of the trip and it is reserved for you during your stay. The pool towels are probably the best we have ever seen in any hotel. They are big enough to cover the entire sun lounger and have a pocket that you can fix to the back of the lounger, so that the towel stays in one place and does not fly away.
We only had breakfast included as part of our stay. The omelette was a bit too raw in the middle for my taste, so I just stuck to the mini pancakes which were great. There is also a selection of fresh juices available.
The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and quite far away from Protaras strip, it takes about 20-30 mins to get to the restaurants if you would like to have dinner outside the hotel. We tried the Brazilian restaurant and American Reef that are part of the same hotel chain, both were very disappointing. We did order a Club Sandwich by the pool at the hotel and it was great, so I would probably recommend to order in from the hotel.
Even though we had a few issues with the housekeeping, the hotel manager has dealt with them beautifully. Looking back, it probably was the best hotel we have stayed in Cyprus so far.

Sunrise Jade is a beautiful five-star hotel with wonderful facilities and a stunning sea view.
Every morning at breakfast the hotel manager enquires about your stay and volunteers to solve any issues. He must have a quiet life because his hardworking staff are excellent at their jobs, courteous and fun.
Just a few examples include the pool manager helping us choose the best sun-beds to catch the most sun and with the best atmosphere. A cleaner stopping to chat to us in the corridor to recommend we use the complementary body milk to soothe our skin after a day in the sun. The breakfast chef’s expert level poached eggs. The pool attendant spotting us in town and giving us a warm hello, even though he wasn’t at work. There are many more examples I’ve missed.
We upgraded to a sea view room and it was truly worth the money, with magnificent vistas from sunrise to sunset.
The bed in our room was very comfortable and large. The bathroom had twin sinks and a walk in shower.
We spent all day by one of the pools. You are assigned a sun-bed at the start of your stay, but of course you can change it if you like. It does mean you don’t need to rush out with towels in the morning. There is no shortage of space around the pools, or overlooking the sea if you prefer.
Our flight back was late at night. The reception kindly provided us with a late checkout and so we could enjoy our final day to the maximum.
Sunrise Jade is approximately 10 minutes walk from the bottom of the Protaras strip. We found a few decent restaurants within easy reach such as Folio, Lemongrass and Marcello’s.
Overall we would highly recommend staying at this hotel. We hope to return in the future.

Simply fabulous. We arrived late (after midnight) and so very very grateful that checkin was really easy. The receptionist (George) was very friendly and helpful. I asked if there was anywhere to get a quick sandwich and he winked and said “check your room”. Our cases were then delivered to our room by a helpful porter and we were delighted to find packed sandwiches there waiting ready for us. As we missed evening meal for the first day we were provided with a voucher for a complimentary lunch during our stay which we found a really nice touch.
Our room was facing the sea with a fabulous view. Really stunning. Morning sun and warmth was exceptional. A minibar was provided with complimentary beer/wine/water note when used it is NOT replenished other than with water on a daily basis.
The room was very well appointed with a really comfy bed and free to use security safe. Blackout blinds were a real help as the sun on our balcony was fierce in the mornings. The bathroom was modern and well equipped with toiletries replenished each day. Maid service was to a high standard with complimentary chocolates provided each day. The maids also called early each evening to see if anything was needed.
Sun-beds are allocated per stay so there is no mad rush each morning. Be careful where you select as the grassed area gets the sun each day, some parts of the pool lose it early afternoon and note the swim up rooms are in shade by 1pm.
The on site food is really good with a great and varied selection. The staff at breakfast are very helpful and friendly, the lunch time meals were all good with the exception of the cheeseburger which lacked flavour, everything else was excellent especially the seafood risotto and club sandwiches. Be aware the portion size is huge! Andreas was the head waiter in the restaurant and during our visit, new staff were being trained and we saw that he was really helping and quietly guiding them. He is a really friendly guy and we enjoyed chatting to him each day.
During our stay we ate once at the on site a la carte Ginger restaurant and found it to be a very good standard with, in particular, a fab steak (see pictures).
All in all we were really impressed with this hotel, both in terms of its standard of attention to detail coupled with very helpful and polite staff. If we go again however we would pay for our meals and bar drinks as we go along as it was a little too easy to sign the bill and face the music later. I had a shock when checking out but that was probably evidence of how much we had enjoyed our stay! To reserve your room (if available) on the last day is €65.

My partner and I arrived at the the Sunrise Jade at the end of April. Everything about our stay has been great. The staff in all departments are very friendly and professional and do their utmost to make your stay pleasurable.
We paid extra for a sea view on a higher floor and it did not disappoint, in fact we have spent many evening sitting on our balcony.
We discovered you can swap your evening meal to lunch time when you can choose off a menu. We found eating lunch was better than waiting until 7pm for the restaurant to open.
We have eaten in the American bar next to the hotel and had a fabulous burger - would highly recommend,
Special mention goes to the young man who looks after the sun Beds and towels his attention to detail leaves the sunbed area looking very pleasing to the eye. Also having your seabed allocated for the duration of your stay is a great idea.
We booked a trip through Tui - a mountain jeep and boat experience. Our guide Tiny collected us and kept us entertained all day. I would recommend this trip we had a great day out.
We snorkelled in the sea in front of the hotel.
It’s in a great location and We enjoyed the boardwalk into town.
We still have a few days left to enjoy the facilities.
We will definitely be back.

I must start by saying ‘’were we at the same hotel as all the other reviewer” this hotel although being brand new has a long way to go to before it earns its Star status. We had a swim up room and although clean they are strangely situated behind the main pool areas so not that private people walking back and forth all day so not much relaxation. The main lobby reception area is HUGE and then you have a small bar tucked in one corner and as boring as I have ever experienced and we have travelled all over the world. They need to work more on their entertainment as quizzes and such are not for everyone the level of artist was below par. The restaurant is very awkward there is no area behind the serving stations so all replenishment is done from the front and staff are pushing in front of guest to fill up serving areas the staff were nervous wrecks as they were mostly all new young employees. Breakfast can be a bit of a shambles I waited for staff members including the manager who told me to sit and they would bring my request to the table I gave up I am still waiting on the food item. This hotel may have brought a joy to others but if you are looking for a lively atmosphere then don’t book this hotel.

Just returned from 11 nights at this lovely hotel. The rooms are well appointed and immaculately clean. Comfortable bed, great shower /bathroom with the added benefit of coffee machine, fridge, usb ports and British plug sockets so no need for 3 pin adapters.
The staff here are lovely and go out of their way to engage with you and make sure you are entirely happy with your stay in particular the hotel manager and restaurant manager who we’re both great as were all the staff.
Great breakfast choice.
We made the most of the 2 restaurants in the hotel Sage and Ginger fine dining. The food in Ginger was particularly good. We also switched out to the hotels 3 other restaurants and enjoyed them all.
The pool area is beautiful with amazing views over the bay. You reserve your sun beds on arrival so can relax for your stay. Nice touches like juice, fruit and cold flannels brought round to all guests daily and chocolates brought to the room every evening by the house staff.
All in all a wonderful holiday.

Just returned from 9 wonderful days at the Sunrise Jade. The staff are so welcoming, polite and work so hard to make your holiday so enjoyable.
We were greeted by the lovely Donvkle (sorry about spelling) who, after a long journey, made us feel very welcome with a fresh glass of orange, she let us know everything about the hotel and then Frank kindly took our luggage to our room for us.
We were allocated our sunbeds for the duration of our stay so no worrying about whether you will manage to get round the pool every day, this was something I wish every hotel would do.
The pool bar staff were so friendly and we had a good laugh with them, they all work so hard. Jordan kindly gave us all the information about the local area so we were able to make the most of our time in Protaras.
I was looking forward to doing the yoga during the day as this had been mentioned on other reviews, there was a lady who did water aerobics occasionally but she never approached us so not sure if she did any other activities.
The restaurant team in the hotel I just cannot fault, they are just so attentive and really look after you. You have the choice of 5 restaurants, some are in the town. My only criticism would be the Brazilian Rodizio who really let the side down, they come round with meat and slice it off for you, but it was very noticeable that they singled us out with the cheaper pieces of fatty meat whereas other tables got the better cuts, which was a shame as the day we went there was our 25th anniversary and we were both very disappointed, so I ended up just having the salad.
The hotel has an indoor pool and a gym which both look very clean and where you can get showered on your last day.
The rooms were spacious with a lovely comfy bed, the cleaning staff were amazing and even bring you chocolates later on in the day.
All in all we had a brilliant stay and hoping to come back in September.
Thank you to all the lovely staff who looked after us.
