Recently stayed here because we were taking an early morning ferry from Larne to Scotland, so really just looking for a comfortable place to lay our heads. Derrin Guest House provided that but not much more. The welcome we received on check-in was not exactly warm and the host walked away as my 73yo husband struggled up a long stairway... More

Thank you for your review. On arrival, I showed you to your room and advised you about the free Wifi and where spare blankets and pillows were etc. I offered to leave breakfast out for you as you were on the early ferry, but you didn't require this. I also told you about the bell in the hall if you... More

Stayed at this lovely guest house on our visit to Larne. We received a very warm welcome, a beautiful, clean and comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. I'll definitely be staying on my next visit. Thank you Ivy. From Kathy & Pete James and John Swift

Lovely welcome, fabulous fresh food, clean room and quiet at night with no outside or inside disturbance - and I was given wheat free bread and cereal on the first morning despite not having told them in advance I could not eat wheat and then they went out and bought some more. Also it looks like, in addition to the... More

Hi Elizabeth, Bob, Joe and Paris We enjoyed having your family to stay for 2 nights. Thank you for writing such a lovely review. We usually stock some gluten free bread and cereal as it is now so widely requested. No 5 is a large family en suite room with double bed and single bed. There is a sofa bed... More

Stayed for a night on my way through from the ferry. The house itself is immaculate and my room lovely. The décor and breakfast were both perfect. The house is close to a park and town, parking might be an issue as there is limited space on the road outside the Bed and Breakfast. Very friendly and helpful - and... More

I really liked Derrin House - it is a spacious old family home and no surprise that it was formerly owned by a doctor's family. We had room 5, and with windows to three sides it was spacious and airy - a pleasure to be in. Breakfast was excellent, too. The host, Ivy, was very friendly and helpful (as she... More

Thank you for your lovely review. You took advantage of our speicial offer of a free bottle of wine as you booked on our own website and mentioned the offer at the time of booking. You were able to take the wine to one of Larne's BYO wine restaurants so it came in handy! We were delighted to hear that... More

We arrived to a personal greeting from the lovely Ivy, settled into our comfortable room and headed to check out some local recommendations. Beds comfortable, good pillows, and a very yummy breakfast! Highly recommended.

Service and hospitality was excellent. Upon arrival we were greeted by Ivy and given the usual information of where things where within the house and told about the local parks and shops (which is around the corner and made for a lovely walk that showed of the towns atmosphere on the main street). Wish we had time to explore this... More

We stayed here for 1 night as we were attending a wedding at Ballygally Castle near by. The location is very convenient to drive to/from the airport and you can walk to a number of different amenities in Larne itself. Our room, room 5, was very spacious, lots of natural light and very quiet. The breakfast the next morning had... More
