First of all, you better have a GPS to find the Pension! On site, I strongly recommend that you leave your car IN FRONT of the establishment (in the square) and not IN the Pension Courtyard (50m away), the Award is not the same!
Then, regarding the room: It is very large, bright with stunning views of the castle and valley. In the morning you can watch the sunrise.
The least (and there are!): The worst part is the evening meal. All guests (Libraries of course) had a typical menu for 800 Kc (starter, main course and 1 drink). I'll let you calculate the Award: Derisory. For us: Requirement to take à la carte (about 5 times more expensive!!) Look for the mistake!
Then they say there's wifi, we're still looking for it! No network in our room always.
In the room where you pack your bags without the help of an elevator, no bottles of welcome water, a mini bar entirely empty, no coffee/tea set, minimal sanitary products, no air conditioning (we were there with 30° outside). In short, it's not a 4* as you would hope!

The hotel is in an old castle, in a park with sensational views of the surroundings. The restaurant is good and fairly priced and you eat with this phenomenal view of the valley around you. The room was very large, and the bathroom too and although the reviews about needing some paint refresh and the furniture a little worn out are true and there is no lift, hey forget if it, it is like being in a real palace. The young lady in the reception deserves a special mention, she carried our bags up the stairs, she gave us perfect directions for the trekking paths and a very useful map and everything with a smile. Breakfast is a joy. The parking costs a little, but it is clearly stated in the booking as so and we can understand with so many tourists coming to the place and the small price gives you a perfectly private and quiet parking experience. Trekking in the surrounding park is marvelous. We had the most perfect weather one can imagine, not hot, not cold, sunny and with a breeze, and most of it is in the trees shade so this added to the positive review. The boulders are so magnificent and interesting. Forget all the negative reviews, just go !!

The location is great and just what I wanted: perfect views and access to amazing trails through the Cesky Raj. It was also great to have a restaurant on site, as we were travelling by train and couldn't drive anywhere else in the evenings. We found all the staff very nice too.
I am bit more ambivalent about the rooms, though. There are some stellar reviews written recently by people on walking tours, so maybe they get the best rooms. We opted for a double with a view, which is a more expensive type than some of the others, and which according to the hotel's site came with armchairs, blackout blinds and a mini bar. In fact, it was rather small with just one straight-backed chair and an empty fridge, one window had no blind so light came in, and the bed was rammed into a narrow corner so one person slept against a wall and had to climb in and out over the foot of the bed. I've stayed in a few castles which have slightly worn or dated accommodation (e.g. Czocha in Poland), but they are usually cheaper than this one. For the money charged, the room was bit disappointing.

What a amazing stay! When we checked in and we were looking for our room, we met a hotel manager which was so kind and he took us to our room and he told us something from the history of the building and hy told as a story about our room. It was very special place for the former owner cause it was a chapel. There stlll were some old framgents and also small statue of st. Mary. This hotel is situated in very special place, you will loose your breathe. I love breakfast on the terrace where you can see the castle on one side and the rocks on the other side, it so beautifull. It is definitely one of the most romantic places in Czechia

We have stayed in that lovely hotel for 3 days. Accomodation was really clean and perfectly prepared. Room itself was big enough and it keeps the style of an old castle adapted to modern enviroment. Restaurant served really delicious food and we did not wait for a long time, even if it was almost full. Surroundings of this castle is one of the best place in the Czech Republic, it is worth to see it. We will definitely return to this hotel.

Beautiful location, beautiful castle. Service certainly leaves much to be desired. Just drag your suitcases and sort it out. Parking can be reserved for an additional charge. Breakfast could be much better, second rate. Room service and cleaning lousy. This location offers so many possibilities but is not being utilized.

Stayed there for 2 nights as part of a walking holiday in Bohemia; including the May bank holiday.
Site: awesome situation within the woods - on a cliff overlooking some excellent views. Wonderful sunrise. The castle is very well maintained and having stayed in similar palaces/castle hotel conversions previously, this is right up amongst the rest.
Be aware that due to the nature of the place, there are no lifts or air conditioning.
Beds are very nice and the power shower is a boon. Rooms are huge, airy and wonderful views.
Food: excellent restaurant site, inside and outside - along the ramparts. exquisite meals, good variety, vegetarian options are present but few. Good breakfast spread.
Would definitely stay again.

We chose this hotel because it is beautifully situated on the mountain in the Bohemian Paradise. We had booked a four-star room with a view of the rocks. We got a room with a view of the car park. The shower was covered in black mould and the windows were incredibly dirty. That's a shame as the hotel could have been so much more. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 9:30. We went for a little hike before breakfast. We arrived for breakfast at around 9:00. There were around 3 couples left in the restaurant and everything was cleared away at 9:05. When I asked how long the breakfast buffet was open, the waiter said until 9:30 and cleared away the tables. I found that very strange.

Spent 2 nights here while on a walking holiday. We spent up for a suite and it was large and comfortable with a separate room with a chair and couch. The bed was comfy and it was quiet. And loved waking up to the birds singing away. The hotel room was clean and had a fridge and my wife LOVED the bathtub after a couple of long hikes. Winner!
