Pro - Unique decoration, it's like we're in Disneyland or something. All the things are mixed and match oddly but perfectly together somehow - Near the airport, like 10 mins away - There's a video line connect to your front door of your villa, so it's pretty safe. You can see who's out there - Good food at room service, pretty high price but worth it - Good unique view from the private pool Con - We stayed only a night there and need to headed out early in the morning, they prepared us breakfast box, but it's the weirdest looking combination I would say; water melon, crab meat, salad, dumpling? - We had confirmed a car pick up but they forgot our order, however they did come quickly to get us in 20 mins so that's ok - We didn't open the door at all in the evening but a little bit in the day time, not even leave it open cause there's a sign not to, again the mosquito were there in the bedroom, but they also offer you a mosquito cream by the bedside - You can hear the airplane from the room, but it was not that bad to us…
We had an overnight stay in Bangkok but didn't want to travel into town. We decided to stay at Suvarnabhumi airport in this very unique resort. It sits on a 6 hectares piece of land, featuring quite a spectacular lake (we noticed swans floating around), on the border of which the large Kohlanta Restaurant is located (for outdoors and indoors dining). It's a spectacular complex with red pagoda type roofs and triangular objects. Fenced-off by a security gate is this resort which had been created later by the same owner, some 5 years ago, featuring 27 private villa's, yet another (smaller) restaurant, a pool area, a meeting room and a watch tower, from where the guests can observe planes landing and taking off. Some of the villa's are located on the lake side, whilst others are situated right next to the landing strip, where we were housed in a very large and ornate villa, featuring a private outdoor sun deck, large seating area, separated from an unusual very high ceiling brickwork circular bed room (hardly any noise comes through). Spectacular to be able to see the planes landing from the bathtub. Earplugs were provided but not really needed. The resort is housing the owners huge personal antiques and arts collection, quite spectacular to see. Very comfy (twin) beds, excellent breakfast buffet, and free shuttle to the (closeby) airport departures hall. An interesting overnight experience, quite different from any other standard airport hotel! Love it or hate it, we highly recommend this unusual resort if you have an overnight airport stay.…
Our accommodation is a little villa - it is very private and not overlooked. We stayed one night before flying home from Bangkok airport. The hotel was clean and tidy, although some may find it overly ornate in style. The hotel is unique and unlike other hotels so we enjoyed the more unusual accommodation. However, we did not enjoy the lack of hot water in the morning and had cold showers brrr. We arrived late and needed dinner and was given a table by the lake. We were the only couple there so it was very romantic and quite honestly we didn't mind the planes flying over as we deliberately chose to be near the airport. We enjoyed our dinner and saw swans floating in the lake - it was a nice ending to our holiday in Thailand. We had a good breakfast and staff were all friendly and helpful. It was a shame we didn't have more time to explore the resort. Admittedly there was a problem with mosquitos even though we had plug-in repellants, but we did arrive after 8pm and we usually put plug-ins on by 5pm. My wife did not get any mosquito bites at all as she puts roll-on repellants on day and night. However, my mother in law and I were bitten several times.…
We stayed next to this place at another Hotel. We had driven by this resort many times and we were very curious about it. We walked over to take a look. i must say very different, unique, and interesting. We walked through the whole resort. a lot of it was broken and needed repaired. We stopped at the lobby. it was full of clutter, with many different types of furniture and other items. We walked to the restaurant and found a lot of clutter and unique antiques and odds and ends. We decided to have lunch while there.. The lunch was enjoyable and delicious, but it was over priced. The service was slow and getting the food after it was ordered was also very slow. We decided to take a look at one of their rooms. The rooms fit the same mold. A lot of clutter and different types of furniture. I would say, it was a experience to walk around and take in all the different and unique furniture and other items. Something different to see , if you have nothing to do on your way to the Airport in Bangkok…
As you see it in the distance as you drive up, you’ll think wow, what a wonderful and unique place. But the grandeur fades as you get closer. The complimentary airport pick up was a nice feature and the person who picked us up at the nearby BBK airport was super nice. Once you enter the reception area, you’ll know you made a mistake. The lobby is cluttered, dusty and looks like a cross between an old antique shop and a hoarder’s house. It’s creepy, dirty and depressing. The concept of the villa is great, but the execution is poor. The furniture is mis-matched, the decor is out dated and the art has inventory numbers on it. Weird! The round brick bedroom is windowless and odd. The villa has multi levels with small differences in the floor level, it’s a real trip hazard. And of concern to me was a complete lack of any smoke detectors in the villa - not even an inexpensive battery operated one. I felt unsafe there. And speaking of safes, the room safe was simply set inside a cabinet, not bolted down and easily carried away - totally useless. We stayed there because of the close proximity to the airport. That’s it’s only asset. I was uncomfortable in this place, it was not a good experience.…
