The staff and service is what makes this hotel great! The receptionist, cleaning lady, manager, breakfast staff are all great and make you feel so welcomed .. always having a smile on their face.. they were very helpful with our requests .. the hotel is within mykonos standard, its basic but also very cozy and clean. Breakfast is good, location is near the beach :) Hi
We stayed at the Mykonos Essence hotel for 10 days. We had a lovely room with a brilliant terrace and sea view. The room always felt spotlessly clean and we had robes and slippers provided which is always a plus. The facilities are also good, the pool area is really lovely and perfectly bathed in sun all day. There aren’t loads of sunbeds but most days it was very quiet so this was fine however when there were larger groups it was more of a struggle to get one. Breakfast was good, a decent selection but without a great deal of variety so if you’re here for a while it starts to be a bit too familiar! The staff were generally really lovely, especially the reception staff. As many of the other reviews say the restaurant is very expensive (and not just at Mykonos levels which is generally expensive) and we weren’t hugely impressed with the level of choice. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the beach and centre of the little town of Ornos. A great (and most reasonably priced sunbed €60 Euros for 2 on the front.. welcome to Mykonos!) spot on the beach is opposite the Porto ornos taverna. We also got the bus into the old time a couple of times which was only €3.60 return and a really easy simple way to get around. +beautiful views from the sea view room +beautifully decorated and maintained +Pool area +Breakfast included and tasty +happy for you to bring your own food and drink to the pool +fridge in the room +close to the beach +shower facilities for checkout day -There are a lot of big groups that come to the hen do which at times overwhelm the communal spaces such as the pool and restaurant -Breakfast gets a little smart if you have a long stay -No shuttle or anything into town -No tea/coffee/kettle in the room -Restaurant menu is limited and is expensive including drinks €14 for an aperol for example A few great restaurants nearby: Apaggio (make sure to book) To Apermero Ceasers (in the old town)…
We were a group of 11 ladies of mixed ages (hen do) and the team here were absolutely brilliant. From the moment we arrived (late check in) to the second we left, we were tended to with the utmost friendliness, coupled with professionalism. Every member of the team couldn't help us enough, ranging from the amazing bar and restaurant team, to the fabulous ladies in reception. Even the housekeeping team were super friendly, yet efficient and thorough. There was a personal touch and everyone cared, asking about our daily antics and showing a genuine interest. Food was always great, drinks both poolside and in the restaurant were fabulous and the entire team here made our 5 days in Mykonos a complete success. Thank you all. We will be back!!
This is my second time in Greece but first in Mykonos, same with my partner. First impression of Mykonos Essence is how gorgeous it looks from the outside and the inside is no different. A relatively small, quiet boutique but this is how we wanted it. The staff and managers were so kind and welcoming late at night, first thing in the morning and throughout the day which helps the entire experience. They were able to help with any requests we needed or info about Mykonos. We came just before the season started so costs of restaurants/transport etc were not as inflated as I suspect they would be in season. The location seemed to be ideal as most places were within 10-15mins. The town area about 7 mins on quads and airport around 10 mins away. There is a few restaurants just a 3 minute walk down hill which is convenient, it’s the walking back up which can be your exercise for the day. Breakfast at the hotel had a good selection of food and with a view of Mykonos and it simply the pool depending where you sit. We didn’t try the evening meals though. The room was a good size and tucked away at the back which made it private for us. The bed was comfortable and shower was good as needed. The room get quite warm in the day and chilly in need so best to figure out the air con functions. Towels were provided each day and at the pool. Although we had already checked out our flight was in the evening. We were given the opportunity to shower again and freshen up just before we left for the airport Which was great. Overall we had a great stay, I would recommend it to friends because my partner and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again. We can’t thank the staff at reception and managers enough at Mykonos Essence. :)…
Everything about this hotel is perfect. Katerina and the whole team at Essence are extremely helpful, nothing is too much trouble and you are always greeted with a smile. Mykonos has become increasingly exclusive over the years and some hotel and bars can feel a little pretentious, that’s certainly not the case here, the whole team go above and beyond to make you feel well looked after and enjoy your whole holiday experience. The facilities are good, just what you would expect from a boutique hotel in Mykonos, the pool area has beautiful views and is exceptionally clean. It was such a lovely surprise to have fresh towels and bed linen everyday. The hotel is situated in a excellent spot, just a short walk from the beach. I’ll admit the hill is a little steep after a lazy day by the beach, by the views you are greeted with on the hotel terrace make it very worthwhile. It’s situated on the best side of Ornos as you get the sun all day until sunset. I travelled with my husband, 18 year old son and his girlfriend. It’s my 3rd stay at the hotel and I wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else when I return to Mykonos.…
The breakfast here was first class, runny eggs, thin crisp bacon. Didn't try the roast dinner breakfast vegetables. Nice selection of yogurts, fruits and sprinkles. Great breads. The snack bar menu was pricey, we asked for some fries to be told we do not serve fries on their own So we had to order homemade chicken nuggets and fries for 14 euros. Along came 2 flat chicken nuggets with a few chips, not great. Cocktails were really good. We had dinner one evening and it was okay at best. No thought or creativity with tiny lamb chops, rice and veg. The 3 small meatballs for 14 euros tasted more like falafels. They boast about their 5 star hotel chef but maybe they shouldn't. The pool area small but with great views and a nice pool. The rooms are where this place steps up. Bathroom area is beautiful with a lovely hot shower. Beds comfy. It was a little cold at night, so we utilised their dressing gowns. Nice balcony and befriended a cuddly cat we named Elizabeth as I had just finished The Thursday Murders club book. …
We stay at Mykonos Essence every time we are in Mykonos, and this past summer was now our 4th time. The hotel and the staff just keeps getting better and better. It's clean, the included breakfast buffet is outstanding and the service impeccable. The location is also great as it is close to many beaches and the town. Dimitris, Katerina, and the whole team is AMAZING. They take the time to get to know you and provide personalized service. They are there to help at any hour and they go above and beyond. We had to make changes to our reservations and Katerina was continuously accommodating, responsive and helpful - even though it was peak season. Thank you Mykonos Essence, we can't wait to come back next year!
My wife and I chose this hotel to spend a beautiful three day vacation in June. Whatever we can say for this hotel, won’t be enough. The respectful staff, the overall cleanliness, the beautiful and spacious rooms, the Greek gourmet cuisine, the privileged location and the service are some of the many advantages we spot on our stay here. A big thank you to Valeria and Fani from the reception and Marinela and Sofia at the bar, who made our holidays unforgettable with their service and support. WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK
This was the second time I stayed at Mykonos Essence Hotel. The property was renovated and the staff was very attentive. Super clean and comfortable rooms. The best was the food. The restaurant is amazing, delicious greek dishes that we never tried before. We will come back again for sure!
We have been first time on Mykonos. Mykonos Essence hotel is an excellent and such a hospital place for living. The staff are always with a grin. The restaurant is delicious and the chef creative. There are many greek traditional choices for food. The room was very comfortable and the most important for me, was very clean. I suggest it 100%
