Excellent team - all hotel divisions from Restaurant - our great friend Giannis who truly recognises your wine and spirits preferences, Beach team, H&K upon to Reception front people with Manager working on the floor. Location is unique. Hard to find better. Added value with premium boutiques area walking distance and private pier for boats. Excellent weather with calm down in the evening, so you can rest from heat over the day. Highly recommended. My so far the best location in Europe for July.
I loved this hotel. It’s not in town, which is a plus for me. There are beach clubs in walking distance and lots of local restaurants. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and because we booked on their website, we were upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi. The breakfasts were good. The concierge and valet were excellent. I would definitively stay here again.
I read 100’s of reviews, yet have never written one (I know, I’m one of them!) but having stayed at Kensho for 10nights in October felt compelled to echo everything I read. I’d consider us fairly well travelled, yet for both of us this has topped anywhere we have previously stayed. From the moment we walked through the door into reception the smell and feel of the place set the tone. It is beautifully decorated, the ambience invites nothing but relaxation and the people unassumingly helpful and friendly. The room with jacuzzi was well worth the upgrade, the room small but functional and perfectly formed. The breakfast buffet was again the best spread I’ve ever seen- all homemade breads, 4 different honeys, a great hot spread with eggs & pancakes made to order. Fizz for those holiday moment brekkies and fabulous coffees. The placement of the hotel is always important to us too- we don’t want to be captive audience, and like a bit of a walk out... this was just perfect for us. A 5/10min walk to the best beach we found, which had a whole stretch of beautiful restaurants and beach bars if you wanted a change of scene. The only negatives I could give was a) the treadmill was out of order the full duration of our stay- fine as other cardio machines and a perfectly functional gym but figure they could’ve turned it round quicker. (The outdoor yoga and stretch area in the morning is a great way to start the day!( b) the cocktails were soooo expensive (I’d love to see a resident only Happy Hour so you could have a guilt free special drink!) c) the spa treatments were super expensive. 😔 thankfully the weather was fab and we didn’t need a back up plan- but to pay to use even the spa area I think is wrong. All in all tho- minor points. And please don’t let them put you off. This place is AMAZING!! …
Have just returned from our honeymoon, 6 nights in Kensho Ornos hotel, and we absolutely loved it. We stayed in the middle of October and left two days before the hotel closed for the end of the season. As a result, it was quiet, but the weather was perfect and the hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel is small, just 35 rooms, but it looks fantastic and is so well designed, with amazing views over Ornos bay. The swimming pool is great, there are not a huge amount of sun beds so imagine in the peak of summer it is difficult to get a spot, but people were generally very mindful of others and didn’t hog sunbeds all day when they weren’t using them. The rooftop bar / pool is also really nice, again with superb views and very relaxing seating areas. The bar is lovely, with a great fire place and comfy sofas. The food in the restaurant is also delicious, and whilst the menu is a little limited the prices are very reasonable (especially for Mykonos), and the setting in the restaurant is also very nice. Drinks are very expensive, €6 or €7 euros for a beer, with wine generally around €50 - €60 for a bottle, although the selection is great. Breakfast was fantastic too, a great selection of everything you could want and all eggs and pancakes cooked fresh to order. Really good workout areas and a nice spa too. Absolutely loved Kensho and would love to return. …
This hotel is in a great location, 2 mins walk from Ornos Beach and a 5 min cab journey to Mykonos Town. The style of the hotel is chic, using raw materials and stylish furnishings. The views are also great. We had a room with a plunge pool which looked nice but was not useable as the water was freezing - it definitely was not worth the extra money per night. The hotel has one main pool and one hot tub pool at a higher level. Unfortunately, we only got to sit here once during our stay as there were only 8 sunbeds around the main pool which made it impossible to secure a bed. Luckily the beach was nice but it meant we didn’t spend too much time in the hotel. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. Rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard and fresh towels were given twice a day which was a nice additional luxury. Without knowing beforehand, we checked out on the same day that the hotel was closing for the season. Before leaving the hotel to catch our flight, we sat down to have lunch to be told that there was nothing left. This for me was the biggest negative of the trip as we expect 5* service for our entire stay regardless of whether it is the last day or not. Overall, we had a great time but expected a little more based on previous reviews and the price of the hotel. …
