We went as a family to Crusoes Retreat, Fiji 20 years ago and returned with the family and grandchildren - not a lot had changed. A great place to get away fro it all and snorkel off the beach. This is not. 5 star resort with glamour and glitz. It is homely and staff are all friendly. Many of the...

My Husband and I have just returned from a 6 night stay at Crusoes Retreat and we miss it dearly! Off the beaten track is an amazing location - a place to relax, unwind and de-stress. There are no shops nearby (only a small shop in the resort and one in the village, a 2 min stroll down the beach)....

I stayed Jan 1st to Jan 8th 2017, their summer time/wet season. It was very humid sometimes, then it would rain and become comfortable again. It was booked through a travel agent and I only checked out the reviews after they booked it. The USD was strong against the Fiji Dollar, about one USD for two Fiji Dollars. I stayed...

My partner and I booked here for a holiday, asked for something romantic to be done to the room. On our arrival we were shown to our Bure and shown the bottle of wine they had placed in the fridge for us (which we thought was complimentary, turns out it was FJ$40 for an AU$9 bottle) they got quite annoyed...

1) Location: this place is remote. It is hard to get to and a hire car is a must. This has the potential to be a positive, however sadly was most definitely not because... 2) The Food: ranged from almost inedible to ok, but never actually good. It was also very very expensive- around $30 FJD per person. Drinks were...

Honestly , my family had the time of our lives , swimming , snorkelling , kayaking and mingling with the staffs . I always thought that locals will be treated as secondary...

We were in a Seaview Bure, beautiful views up on the hill: but no air conditioning, internet or TV!!! We had a week at Crusoe 22 Nov 2016; humidity horrific, as were the sand flies!!! Meals of an evening were awful, cold, no vegetables but you got a salad each night consisting of lettuce, carrot curls, with 2 slithers of...

Came back to Crusoe's Retreat (formerly Man Friday) after staying at the Sheraton Denerau which could be anywhere in the world. The atmosphere was great with simple daily activities organised by the staff and locals which included lessons in sarong tying, yoga on the beach and weaving. Met up with Mess Waka whose father had taken me out fishing many...

We have been to Fiji many many times and this resort needs personality. Accommodation is fine, rooms are clean and comfortable however food is so over priced & not up to standard. You must have a car to enjoy what's around for meals. There is a lovely village next door which is only to happy to treat you to Fijian...
