Had to ignore the SatNav as it stopped short of the actual location. Fortunately there were signs on the lamp posts. The Lordleaze has a very long badly potholed and even worse patched tarmac drive. This does mean the location is quiet. Staff generally polite and helpful. The room we had was larger than average with a large comfortable bed. It was short of some claimed items ( hair dryer, iron, trouser press) No hotel information sheet provided. There was a poor standard of cleanliness in bedroom (hair from previous dog on carpet) and en suite bathroom. The latter had unevenly applied super white mastic along the floor edge and a toilet seat which was disconcertingly loose, swivelling about two inches when used. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the bar area. Dinner good on first night with excellent sweets. Had to return a portion of cod on second evening. Covid requirements must make life difficult for staff, but cannot be used as an excuse for lack of attention to detail or poor general hygiene and cleanliness. I would not recommend this establshment.

Nice setting and convenient for other places in Somerset. Hotel staff very helpful and attentive. All COVID rules were in place. Room clean and nicely appointed. However the outside areas and inside were very tired looking and could do with a spruce up.

Stayed for a long weekend using buyagift.com voucher. Whole experience from booking to contact free check out was a pleasure. The staff are very friendly, there are slick covid safe procedures in place, including check in & out, and in the restaurant. The restaurant alone makes a stay here worth it. The food is excellent & reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
