This was a rather relaxing trip. The staff are very helpful and rather professional. Our villa host Francesa was the best. She was attentive, kind, helpful and very professional. The process from booking to arrival to check out was just seemless. The bed was so comfortable, the pool was warm, the tub was relaxing, the food was just right. I do not like highly seasoned food, but don't want bland food. You could taste the flavors without the overuse of sugar and salt. Would highly recommend. If you do visit- ask for your villa host to be Francesca. Can't go wrong.

Absolute Heaven! If you are looking for a party place...this is not it. It is complete privacy, quiet, and just relaxing...which was just what we were looking for. The accommodations are just immaculate. The staff is incredible. They attend to your every need...and yet not to the point that it is intrusive. It is just perfect. Spend the extra, have breakfast made in your room each morning...you will not regret it. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth every penny.

My husband and I went for our 20th anniversary. this is an incredible place. We aren't normally luxury travelers, but I am a long-time traveler and very discerning, usually choose great airbnbs and design a road trip... The villa was fantastic -- beyond. Gorgeous pool, tons of space, comfortable bed, outdoor shower, and absolutely private, no sense of others around. Views out of this world, you can see the ocean and forest from the bed out a picture window. Outrageously beautiful natural surroundings with birds everywhere. Nice beach and even better -- you can kayak in 6 minutes to a sandy beach that is only reachable that way. We had a bonfire dinner on the beach, so special and just stunning. The food is very good with a couple of things actually exceptional. The island is fantastic, just truly unbelievable nature. It does not feel dangerous. We had a rental car and went to some of the sights but there were plenty. Doesn't feel overrun with tourists, and you can do things without a guide if you prefer that. Of course, the place offers rides and guides if that's your style. Very nice staff, was not crazy for our villa host, but otherwise -- very nice employees there. Could not recommend more for a couple on a special trip.

Stayed for two nights at the very end of October, traveling solo. The property is beautiful and high end, no doubt, but it is a stretch to call it a hotel or resort. It was the deadest property I have ever stayed at. The place has more of a feel of rental/time share/fractional villa enclave with “resort” amenities, than being an actual resort. I knew going into it from reading their website that it wouldn’t be a great match but wanted to give it a shot. No idea why they have full kitchens and villa hosts. Must be some real high maintenance people out there. Staff was all very nice. The Ylang Ylang 2 house was nice. Was a nice touch that the outdoor porch/kitchen was all enclosed by a zipper screen thing to keep the load of mosquitos out. Of course the wind constantly blew it up or snapped it out of place opening it to the bugs so I had to place all the furniture up against it to pen it shut. The mattress was hard as a rock. Other than that the room and pool were all very nice, although the plunge pool had way too much chlorine in it. Kitchen and provided breakfast stuff to cook were fine. A “hotel” that charges this much not having a restaurant for breakfast is ridiculous. But that goes to how few people are here and the design of the units having the full kitchens. The downstairs area with hammock and grill are a waste and not used. The square shaped toilet was horrendous. One’s junk sits on the toilet seat. The “hotel’s” pool area was very clean modern looking but poorly designed. It should face the ocean with a view! Why have it perpendicular facing shrubs and then at the end of the pool have more bushes so you can’t even see the water while being in the pool. Never saw one person by it the whole stay. The beach was okay but nothing special, that includes the beach around the head reachable by kayak. Their main beach has tons of crap falling out of the trees and needs to be raked out. They ought to just remove all those shrubs and make it a nice sunny beach. The guys at the watersports shack did a good job and were all helpful. The prices on many of the water activities were quite high. Just did the jungle river cruise with Fire. Was fine, nothing memorable. I had lunch both days at their Zing Zing restaurant. Both times had their fried fish sandwich on homemade brioche roll. One of the best I’ve ever had so had the same thing the second day for lunch. Also ate both dinners there. It was a Sunday & Monday nights. The Sunday night there were two other tables with people. The Monday night I was the only diner of the evening (there was a couple being served up the hill on the sunset deck). Very weird being in that slow of a restaurant with that many people standing around watching you and waiting for you to put a fork down to serve you. The dinners were very good and worth the price. Had a pan seared tuna one night and the roasted herb crusted lamb half rack another night. The food, and the restaurant’s Girl from Calibishie were the highlights of the stay. I would just stay up the road at the Intercontinental and come down here for dinner next time. Will be interesting to see what their new a la carte restaurant and brewery are like when that opens.

What shall we say. Secret Bay was indeed exactly what we needed for our 30th anniversary celebration with spectacular and breathtaking views of the ocean from our Zabucco II peninsula private villa. The villa is well built with beautiful wood work, private pool, top of the line everything to ensure our stay was great. We were received by the best hostess ever Rhona. She was prepared for us and made sure every decision made was thought out carefully. She was like a family member and made us feel at home. We are so grateful to her for everything she did for us. She had treats for us every night and ensured we were prepared for each day schedule of activities from nature hikes, couples massage, dinner at Zing Zing and on beach bonfire with private concert, etc. Also, we loved how all foods were made natural and really enjoyed the fancy foods from Zing Zing and cooking class with Chef Jennifer. We love to travel to different countries but this was a different level. We were spoiled rotten and loved every minute of it :-). We cannot thank Rhona enough for her patience, great and positive attitude, spirit was beautiful with a great smile always. Secret Bay is absolutely beautiful and nature picture perfect. Once, we reached it, it was like something out of a book. We had a great time and would like to sincerely thank Rhona and the Secret Bay team for their great hospitality. We hope to see you all soon. Our enthusiastic welcome from the Secret Bay Team at the Mouben Welcome Center was a clear indication that our stay at Secret Bay would be simply extraordinary! They were friendly, accommodating and eager to please, to ensure that our stay would be unrivaled. Their passion for unequalled customer experience was evident. Our ride up to our Summit villa (Zabouco) with Jacob (driver) was quite an experience - our villa was nestled high atop a cliff - the highest point on this magnificent establishment! The view was exquisite! The Caribbean Sea, the Cabrits, the town of Portsmouth and the mountain ranges all formed part of the exceptional landscape - the sunsets were simply amazing and breathtaking! Our villa host Sherina, just spoilt us rotten!! Her warm personality exudes kindness, care and attention to detail - it felt like she was a member of our family! The quick responses from the Team to our every need, was unparalleled! Another trip to Secret Bay?? ABSOLUTELY!!!

My husband and I just returned from a perfect anniversary trip at Secret Bay. From the moment we arrived, every detail was customized to our preferences. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly right so that we were able to relax and enjoy our time together. Our villa host, Tashida was fabulous and was always responsive and helpful. The food was fantastic and the chef was very accommodating if we asked for something specific such as lobster. I have traveled to 20 countries and have not had the level of service that we experienced at Secret Bay. Top notch. In addition to the exceptional service, we loved the privacy of the resort. Each villa is surrounded by lush vegetation and we did not see any other guests our entire stay. It felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves! We were looking for a quiet place to unwind and relax and Secret Bay was perfect. We cannot wait to return next year!

We don't know where to even start! This was the best trip we have ever taken in our 40 years of marriage. Secret Bay resort is so beautiful, amazing architecture for the Villas and the landscaping is truly breath taking. The Villas are absolutely impeccable. But even better than all of that, which almost impossible, is the staff. The dedication to every detail of making our trip memorable was amazing. Everyone is kind, friendly, and so enjoyable to talk with about everything. We have never been treated so well at any resort ever. Even the owner came over and talked to us several times during our stay. If you want the most beautiful place with the most amazing staff Secret Bay is the place. We are now spoiled forever!! My mom and I do a mother/daughter trip every year. While Secret Bay is a super romantic destination, it was perfect for what we love to do on our trips which is stay in a beautiful place and have access to local experiences away from overly touristic traps. Secret Bay absolutely exceeded our expectations! It was an INCREDIBLE trip! Not only is the location of the property absolutely breathtaking, every single last detail was thought through - from the moment you are picked up at the airport until the 'sad you're leaving' trip back to the airport. I don't think I could have imagined a more excellent stay anywhere else! The property really does give you a unique perspective of Dominica. You're nestled away on this gorgeous cliff - It's super private and you really feel like you are part of the environment. The villas are STUNNING! Modern, yet they don't obstruct the beauty and grace of the nature all around you. Secret Beach was absolutely jaw dropping. As soon as we turned the corner and had a view of the beach, it took my breath away. The staff was amazing! Everyone is so kind and on top of everything. All the experiences are personalized and the staff really does an awesome job of making sure you are completely taken care of. Honestly, with all of Secret Bay's beauty and all, it wouldn't be the same without the staff. From the moment that I was in contact with them via email, they went above and beyond to ensure that our trip was absolutely perfect, down to the last detail! We truly could not have asked for more and hope to return to Secret Bay again!! Regarding the island itself: Dominica is a beautiful island! I think we visited at the perfect time because we had all of the waterfalls, hiking trails, spring pools, sulfur baths, restaurants, etc. to ourselves!!! We spent a week there (the first week of August). We will probably go back during the same time because it was so nice to feel like you were really able to experience the island without the hustle and bustle of tourists buses or tours at every scenic place. It was THE perfect trip! Thank you Secret Bay for all that you did to make sure we truly had the experience of a lifetime! I would without a doubt recommend 1.000.000.000.000.000%!
