RSC is a great place. The rooms are immaculate and quite large. I had so much fishing and snorkeling gear a typical room would not have sufficed. I was with a buddy for fishing and snorkeling. The hotel has it's own dock and so your guide can pick you up on the property. The managers Yvonne and Mauricio (spelling?) are...

We stayed only for 1 night and it was just GREAT. Wonderful sunrise. The little "bungalow" was big and well equipped and very quiet. Directly by the Sea – you could here the waves, so relaxing. Grap a Jeep or an SUV - it depends on the season - and go there... but also Visti the "Sian-Ka'an Biósfera". We would...

My husband and I look for places to stay around Tulum every few years. Sol Caribe was a spectacular hotel, with beautiful private beaches and large clean rooms. But the food was almost inedible! It's difficult to explain how bad it was. We had a shrimp cocktail that was soaked in mayonnaise and ketchup; our fish tacos or so over...

My girlfriend and I went to Tulum for Yucatan getaway. Given the busy Easter break, all accommodations (treehouse cabanas of Azulik, MangleX), food (Hartwood, Casa Banana, Be Tulum, Posada Margherita, Mezzanine and a rustic little beach gem called Nomo), experiences (lazy breezy caribbean beaches, hidden jungle cenote swims and tropic chic boutiques) worked out beautifully and highly recommended. Tulum is...

Even though our stay was short, Sol Caribe was definitely worth the ride. Gorgeous property! We had a loft room ( second floor) on the corner with a deck on two sides. Screens on all windows and doors which allowed for great cross breezes. There was no air ( which I knew a head of time and actually prefer), but...

I'll agree with most of the reviews written about Sol Caribe. The hotel in itself is amazing: 1/ great clean huge rooms (we had a garden/jungle view suite which had an amazing wrap-around porch) 2/ right on the beach (great beach and great beach furniture) and 3/ super clean and groomed premises. To reach the hotel you do need to...

Hotel and staff was very nice and friendly. Restaurant is good. Location is very isolated so great for that beach retreat. Not close to Punta Allen. Beware if you are driving there you need a 4wd as the road is very bad.

This was our second trip to Punta Allen and our second stay at Sol Caribe. This stay was even better than the first. Yvonne and Mauricio are fantastic hosts. This time we had the Jungle Cabana, both floors and it was wonderful. Everything is so clean, and even though there is no airconditoning, the rooms stay cool from the ceiling...

We recently spent 5 days at Sol Caribe, and we had a wonderful time. On this, our second visit, we were content each day to swim and to go for long walks on the beach and to read in the sun or under one of the palapas. Rarely would we meet anyone else on our walks. Mauricio and his staff...

I only had one nite to stay at SC but it was great. The rooms are 5 star as is the service and in general the quality of all things there. Yvonne, one of the managers answered my dozens of questions ( and I've been here many times) with a smile. SC is upscale so it costs a little more...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casual, tranquil, secluded and relaxed, Sol Caribe is a small, exclusive, beachfront resort with private cabanas and suites, on the Caribbean Sea side of Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula; in the state of Quintana Roo… it is one of the last untouched corners of the Mayan Riviera with a desert island feel. Just 35 km south of the town of Tulum and 8 km from the village of Punta Allen, Sol Caribe is located within a protected oasis of extraordinary natural beauty, the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, Mexico’s largest wetland nature reserve and one of the world’s greatest fly fishing spots on Ascension Bay (Bahia de la Ascension). Explore the Mayan ruins dotting the jungle landscape, snorkel in the Great Meso-American Barrier Reef just off the beach, enjoy the fresh seafood in our beachfront restaurant, watch the sea turtles swimming in the waves… or just relax under a palapa on a white sandy beach that you have all to yourself. ... more   less
