Charming ginger cat was the high point he was the most friendly person in the place , arrived late, had booked into sister hotel a few doors away but they (the hotel) had transfered us, bedroom clean and warm we where driving again because of Air traffic controllers strike, so thought of good food but us feel happy it was... A beautifull small hotel which feels like home. Beautifull decorated rooms and public places. The hotel is located in a very quiet village which is definately woth a visit. Nice breakfast with good products and a lovely staff

Made a last minute booking here as the hammering rain meant I was never going to reach Rouen as intended that night. Arrived at 10pm and the desk manager kindly waited up for me to get in. He then popped my bike in a garage alongside a couple of vintage French cars, where it looked nice and secure. The room... More

I bring my mom there for her bday, I was little bit disappointed about the spa. First the pool was cold, the jaccuzzi was waiting to be repair and the bike inside the pool was broken ... Hammam and sauna are nice. There is no privacy in this spa, the hammam and sauna on the first floor so when you... More

We were here three nights for a local wedding we attended. The town is very charming and the hotel is quaint. The room we had was ample with a separate sitting room and large bath but no air conditioning. The furnishings are stylish, the toiletries are upscale and the spa pool was relaxing. The receptionist, Celia, was charming, very fluent... More

A beautiful historic village that we discovered completely by chance a few years ago when driving to France. The hotel is very historic but was very comfortable - not a given in France! - and we had a large suite at a reduced tariff. The price included complimentary use of the indoor and outdoor pool.

The rooms have a modern feel with comfortable beds and windows that eliminate outside noise if you want to sleep in after the birds awaken. An excellent starred restaurant is in the hotel with 2 very good affiliated bistros just a few doors away. An indoor/outdoor heated pool and spa round out the facilities. Staff are friendly, helpful and fluent... More

Pleasant hotel in very pretty little town. Rooms over a range of floors and nicely decorated in a more modern style although the corridors have not been afforded the same treatment are somewhat dark and poorly lit. You can drive up to the front of the hotel and there is some on street parking including some disabled parking right opposite... More

Beautiful place, nice design, good bistrot (did not go to the gastronomic restaurant). But: - No manager on board -> you can feel that the employees are dedicated to their tasks but overwhelmed by weekend frenziness; - Very disappointing breakfast: standard, chain-like products when you would expect home-made bread for example; unfriendly breakfast room, we had a hard time to... We paid top dollar for the spa services at this hotel and were disappointed. On the day we made the appointment, we noticed the garbage bin in the bathroom was overflowing with garbage spilling out onto the floor and there was no toilet paper. We were surprised to find it in the same condition the following day. We found the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel La Licorne, whose construction date back to 1610, has twenty delightful rooms around his sculptural staircase. Its complete renovation was undertaken in 2007 with the famous house decoration Flamant, the rooms being redone enjoying harmoniously combined with contemporary charm the historical aspect. A suite for the disabled has also been designed. Much attention has been paid to the well being of guests - a holiday in the Licorne is a source of tranquility and comfort. La Licorne is also equipped with four comfortable suites. All rooms have a view either charming historic Lyons Hall or on the patio of the hotel, and always in the background forest. Christophe Poirier, talented young chef, went through the most prestigious restaurants. It is a culinary soul he has instilled in these places, and professionals do not make a mistake in awarding him the quality of young talent Gault et Millau 2009. ... more   less
