When we got sick of Altimura with too many people we asked the hotel owner if he could prepare a late dinner for us. Out of nowhere they put together a 4 course feast. The food was extraordinary ..swordfish mousse, layered carpaccio, etc. . Grounds are a large wedding venue with a small hotel which we stayed at. The ground is laced with underground grottoes that make dining romantic and special. But the kickers is the large family who own and manage the place (5 brothers, 2 sisters and 20 of the coming generation!) they simply couldn’t be more inviting and friendly. It’s like you went to your grandmother, the countess’, for the weekend..

This is not to be missed for dinner. The food was and is the very best, maybe in all of Italy. Papa Carone who is a top Italian with cooking said it would be the talk of NYC if there. Ingredients are local, fresh and delicious. Service is world class. This is more than just dining, it is a beautiful experience in a perfect setting in countryside being treated like royalty. In over 50 years of extensive travel, one of my top 5 is this. Thank You, Mattel Moramarco

we were recently honoured to join our friends at their wedding in i Luoghi di Pitti and I cannot praise the staff highly enough. The setting in itself is grand, beautiful, refined. The renovations have been done in such sympathy for the original and every room and space are just as wonderful as each other. As you discover the domain your breath is taken away time after time. We stayed in one of the upper rooms and it was perfect comfort, the bathrooms are original and modern with very nice finishes and furnishing. The view from the window onto the olive groves will stay with me forever, And then you have the staff...that truly make this an experience. I have never experienced such genuine care and attention given to guests, from the breakfast service where nothing is as problem, to the kind and watchful eyes over little guests, to the detail and irreproachable cleanliness throughout the whole resort. Like a discreet army of extended family, you are surprised at every exchange and feel truly welcomed in this beautiful setting, would return in a heart-beat.

The best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. This hotel is fantastic. It is out in the middle of the countryside and is extremely well decorated. It is an easy drive to all the three-star Michelin guide tourist attractions in the area. The food is fantastic for both breakfast and dinner and the service is beyond impeccable. Every need is taken care of with a simple request and every effort was made to make sure that we were comfortable and satisfied throughout our entire stay. We only were going to stay one day but stayed for three because it was so wonderful. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. It is also quiet and romantic.

We booked these accommodations based on trip advisor reviews....and were still delightfully surprised by the gorgeous accommodations and the extraordinary family who run this Masseria. Tastefully designed to combine old world charm, and Italian “chic”, the guest rooms (and entire building) were just beautiful. The service was beyond compare.... individualized, caring, and extremely professional. The food was amazing! We had all of our meals at the Masseria; each one better than the last one. In fact, some of the best food that we’ve had in Italy were served here. The charm of eating in one of the restored caves, or on the terrace with a view of the vineyards and olive trees enhanced the experience. We easily traveled to neighboring towns (Gravina, Matera) from this location, and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere when we returned from our day trips. A special thank you to Tomaso and Mateo for taking such good care of us, for making us feel so welcome and at home. We are grateful to have found this unique property in the midst of Puglia.
