It definitely needs improvement in furniture and bathrooms. Both look a little bit old. Also with restaurant they can do better. It has a view to the sea but, they glass doors are closed so you can't enjoy the view as you should.

Food is OK. At least dinner was tasty even though it looks boring. Dishes makes you feel home from the taste. You have to pay 2 euros to get a bottle of water of 1.5 l.
There is no option for breakfast to drink beside coffe which was not really tasty.

But if you are an easy going person who tend to focus on what's good there's a lot of good points.

Location couldn't be better. Near of the city and near the beach. No noises in the hotel from the city.
There's a beautiful garden in the middle of the resort and between bungalows. There are also olives. Makes you feel you're far away from the noise of the city even though you couldn't be any nearer then that.
The beach is nice. Clear water. Really suitable even for those who can't swimm.
Staff is polite. The sir at the reception really helpful and nice with clients. Also the other part of the staff was nice and helpful.
Bars, coctail bars, restaurants, gyros, shops everything really close.
I think is very suitable place for families with children.
It is the best located hotel, so they can definitely try to invest a little bit more in the above topics since it will be totally worth it.

The Property has the best Location, spacious Rooms and Balcony, and the big Garden and free Space outside the Rooms make a quiet and good Ipression, no matter of a partially unrenovated Bathrooms. New, Quality Matraces, Towels and Bed Sheets. Good Service. Really good one for the Price.

I do not where to start with this hotel...

We have booked a week there for June 2012, 2 adults and a 1 year and 4 month old child.
We have chosen this hotel, because all the reviews that we've found on the internet were taking you to a quite place, a place witch according to the hotel site, has a special playing ground for children, a pool with activities, a sandy beach, excellent food, nice gardens, internet connection etc...

We arrived there and we found out that the quiet room that we have requested is no longer available and the one that was given to us is found 150 meters from the seaside, in the last building of the complex. The room looked very bad, but they have changed it for another one. This time we got a room in the main building, the one with the restaurant. This was just above the restaurant, near the stairs so you could hear every move of the other tourists and the kitchen personal washing the dishes after the breakfast and dinner...

Rooms are fitted with AC and a nice balcony, of course that we didn’t get the sea view one, but it was clean. The bathroom wasn’t fitted with a bathtub as we have requested, but only with a shower. People with small children know what I’m talking about when it’s time to give your children a bath; it’s much easier to use a bathtub.
The toilet is placed near the wall, so let’s just say that is tricky to use...

The most outrageous thing is that the water in the bathroom is SALTY. It comes from the hotel’s own water supply, drilled in the garden somewhere. Imagine coming from the sea side or the pool (which is also a mix between sweet and salty water) and having to wash your hair with salty water... Soap will not even come off, and if you will wash your teeth, I do not want to describe the feeling that you get...
They have actually told us that, from this year they are using the village’s sweet water supply, but after 4 days of salty water showers I refused to believe that they have actually got the sweet water on hand....

Our daughter had a rush on her chest and on her back from the heat and from the salty water of the sea, so you can imagine that she couldn’t stand the salty shower from the room, which has made things even worse.
The playground for children, presented on their site, is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. They have told us that they have ordered a new one and in about 10 days the new one will be installed.
We have found out from other sources that the old one was very rusty and a real danger to the children so they have cut the iron out, but have NO MONEY to replace it. Why do they keep it on their site then?

The beach is not sandy at all. The neighbor hotels have added sand on the beach, so you can walk with no shoes on, but this one has no maintenance for the beach. I believe that the sea is bringing small rocks on the beach and you can’t stop this process for the first 2 meters from the water, but what about the rest of the beach? That one is also full of rocks with makes you really uncomfortable!

The seats on the beach cost 3 Euros each, so if you take 2 and an umbrella you will pay 6 Euro/day. 70% of them are in a really bad condition, with aluminum parts coming out of them, so if you are not careful and you do not place your towel on them correctly, you will scratch or stab you back...
The pool area has free sets, but you will have to wake up at 6 AM and take you towel there to reserve one, since all the old ladies from Russia are clamming them all the time. The come there with their nephews and stay all day in the sun, in the children’s pool and shout after young ones. It makes you feel that you are in retired facility in Russia, getting treatment. Don’t get me wrong: I do not have anything against the Russians but they should behave normally, knowing that they are not alone in the resort...
If we want to talk about the food, here we go: we’ve taken the half board package and I must say the breakfast is NOT worth it! You get eggs in all the possible cooked ways, some winners, mustard, ketchup, some tomatoes and that’s about it.
If you add the worst orange juice on earth to that and a coffee like the ones from the airplane, you will get the picture...

Dinner is more abundant, with like 4 main courses, with watermelons and some other small fruits, but nothing exotic (no kiwi, pineapple, bananas etc...). You get french-fries every day and if you are lucky some rice or musaka. You will find plenty of tomatoes, olives, cucumbers, feta cheese and olive oil, that’s ok.

There is a very annoying guy in the Restaurant that greets you, he is apparently the restaurant’s manager, a sweaty fat guy, that just wants to be polite but fails every time.
The most outrageous thing in the restaurant is that they only have 2 baby chairs! We were like 20 couples with children in the restaurant fighting over two old and dirty chairs!!!
If you want to get some ice-cream prepare to dive in the fridge for some scoops, because this is the method they are using there... you will find it in the picks.
The water, beer, wine etc... are not included in the menu, and you will have to pay extra for them. One Mythos beer 0.33L is 2.5E and 1.5 L water is 2E. This is more expensive than any other restaurant in the city’s center!

The only thing that is really ok at this resort is the garden. They are always taking care of it, although you can’t really make a use out of it, since you can’t sit near the palm trees or on the grace... You just look at them and that’s it.

The parking place is ok, is free of charge and nobody even came close to the car in 7 days. I only had some cats sleeping on the hood at night 

You have a possibility of connecting your computer of mobile phone to the internet, but they have only cards of at least 20 Euros for 500 minutes. The 5 or 10 E cards are always missing from the reception...
Internet is ok, but if the connection brakes down you will not find any help at the reception. They forget to reset the server after each brake down, so the internet becomes functional only for them with a direct line.

So, finally I can say that Hanioti is quite place, with nice people, but please choose a different hotel if you want good food and some nicer conditions. But you will not find natural sandy beaches, waves and a very big variety of things to do there: a little bit expensive and crowded.
Have a nice vacation!

I think the hotel is subpar and the price that we paid for five nights is higher then the quality of the "service".

Here are just a few things that I don't find normal for a hotel, which claims to have three stars.

1. The room is very worn out. For example, the headboard of the bed is not in its finest condition.

2. There is no holder for the shower head in the bathroom. When I asked at the reception how am I supposed to shower they replied: "But of course, with the one hand and holding the shower head with the other." This would have been funny if it was not rude.

3. The cleanliness in the bathroom is not exactly great.

4. At the pool there are only less than 20 sunbeds - way too little for such a big complex.

5. There are no umbrellas at the hotel pool. I understand that the guests should go to the overcrowded beach in front of the hotel in order to pay for the sunbeds and umbrellas there. A man at reception informed me that they do not provide umbrellas but the guests can use their own - this was not mentioned in the description of the hotel. Also, if you bring na umbrella of your own, there is no holder for it.

6. The WiFi is not working, but this is the least problem.

7. The beach is not clean, very narrow and stoney, the sunbeds are very close one to the other.

8. You must pay 7 euros per day to use the air conditioning.

9. The food is not good.

10. Before check-out they count the towels in your room as though someone would like to take home a worn out towel.

We received a warm welcome from the receptionist upon arrival at the hotel. Our room was on the second floor, with sea view. It was clean and cozy, with a TV set, air conditioning, a small table with two chairs, a double bed with soft pillows, a desk and a hair dryer. The balcony was furnished with a table and two chairs. There were a few washing lines as well. The bathroom was clean, with hot water all the time, so we could take a shower any time. Towels were changed every 2 days, bed linen - every 3 days. The restaurant offered good variety of food, fresh fruit and salads. There is a beach / pool bar. We were happy with the service. The location of the hotel is just perfect - on the beach and by the city centre. I would definitely recommend Sousouras as a good place to stay at.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days. It was populated with Romanians, Russians, Serbs (as we are) and Bulgarians. Majority of guest are families with small children.

Pros:
- Fair price for what you get (it's a 3 star hotel, don't expect 5 star service at this price -- less than 40€ per person per day),
- Nice garden with flowers, palm trees, olive trees, fig trees and oranges,
- Pretty quiet,
- Excellent position near the seaside,
- Hotel's parking was just in front of our building,
- You can play with some cats on the parking :)
- There is a swimming pool near the restaurant,
- Staff members are nice and polite, they like playing with (or entertain) children,
- Beach was really nice, although it's a bit rocky,
- You can meet friendly people at the beach,
- Hotel is only 50 meters from the central square area of Hanioti,
- We got a balcony with a sea view; the view was quite nice,

Cons:
- Cleaning lady is lovely, but she doesn't speak English nor Serbian (I think she's Romanian; Thank you again Mrs Beta for servicing our room),
- Food was excellent and diverse, but we found a hair in the food on two occasions,
- Breakfast was a bit monotonous,
- There are only 3 channels on the TV, all off them in German (???),
- You have to pay extra for A/C,
- You have to pay extra for WiFi (and it's way overpriced! 15€ per day!!),
- You have to pay extra for a sunshade and a chair on the beach (but only if you stay whole day at the beach)
- At the dinner, if you are thirsty you will end up paying as much as 2€ per bottle (1.5L) of water or a 7up can (0.33L).
- Greeks didn't hear of a sparkling or carbonated mineral water (wherever we asked for it, they were looking us strange o.O),

After all these things have been taken into account, it's a good place for what you pay. There are more expensive places, with better service but Sousouras truly is the best buy. I would recommend it to a friend.

Amazing beach hotel - you will not find a better deal. We spent two weeks in a large double room and had the most amazing vacation. The rooms have a boutique style, tastful decor and maintenance is continually performed to ensure the place is spotless and working. Short walk to a great beach. John was a lovely host - made us feel at home. The strongest point of this hotel is stuff; they will make everything for good holidays. The pool bar/restaurant was fantastic. Do not miss the BBQ - pork, beef! Breakfast and dinner was almost always at Sousouras Resort (sometimes we had them pack a lunch for us to take to the beach). We ate like kings. It was great taking a dip in the pool after the beach. You do not hear any planes so do not worry about this. I do not like to travel to the same place twice - but I will be returning this year for sure!

The hotel is having almost a perfect location, close to the town center but on the beach. However, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel!
- it has access to the beach, BUT you need to pay for umbrella and
- it offers half board, BUT they always serve the same food,
- It offers food, BUT the buffet runs out of food and is not topped up! (One day my kid didn’t have what to eat, and I was told they run out of eggs 45 min before the breakfast suppose to finish!)
- rooms have air conditioning, BUT you need to pay additionally for it
- restaurant is air conditioned, BUT they switch the air on off
- restaurant doesn’t offer any milk alternative for lactose intolerant kids, BUT they forbid you bringing your own lactose free milk
- you pay for half board, BUT they charge you overpriced water and drinks
- rooms have TV, BUT it is size of a laptop screen
- rooms have fridges, BUT they switch off all the time you are outside of the room.
- it has a swimming pool, BUT you are not allowed to swim after 7pm!

When you add up all the additional charges, and the annoyance with all the above, I would never come back there again.
