It is very interesting to read other peoples reviews of the Rey Apartments. We have been going to Portinatx for over 20 years now and stay in the Rey Apartments on average twice a year. Yes they are dated and this gives the impression that they are not clean. However we have always found them to be clean. Yes they do have rules at the pool regarding lilos and inflatables however these are necessary in order that everyone can enjoy the facilities provided. (Yes we take our grandchildren as well and they enjoy it) The grumpy old man referred to in one review is actually very nice if you take the time to speak to him and treat him with the same respect that you would expect. Similarly the reception staff are great and if you have a problem they always get it sorted (provided you tell them!) The lads in the pool bar are great, full of fun and will do anything for you. I note that someone said the food in the restaurant was terrible and dry. We normally eat there 2 or 3 times each holiday and have never had a problem. Similarly the waitresses are always friendly and do there best when we are there. Somebody said that the loungers on the beach are 21Euros per day... simply not true. They are 7 Euros per day which I admit isn't cheap but the beaches are lovely. In summary, basic apartments, best infinity pool and bar facilities in Portinatx and very reasonable rates compared with other accommodation in the resort

We wanted a family holiday to Ibiza. I'm a long time frequent visitor and ex summer worker over there but my usual trips have mainly revolved around the night scene, getting mangled and going with mates.

With a partner, 2 year old and 9 year old in tow, being asked every 10 minutes if I want 'anything for going out tonight' (and it has gotten so bad I've seen kids as young as 12 or 13 approached) as is the case in San Antonio, Playa den Bossa et al is not however ideal and Portinatx is one of the few remaining areas of the island where drugs and dance music have not yet invaded - I don't have an issue with either but don't want my kids seeing it at their ages - when 18 they can make their own mind up.

It has 3 lovely beaches in easy walking distance (admittedly down a steep slope or steps) and fab quite unspoilt beaches nearby. It's also a mini resort in itself with everything you need (supermarkets, shops selling tourist tat, restaurants) ranging from English pie and chips, to pizza to some decent seafoood / paella places) and is still only 40 mins drive from Ibiza town. If you're willing to drive 15 -20 minutes some very well respected restaurants are also within reach.

We chose the Apartamientos del Rey basically because it was cheap (£280 for a week + £140 for flights for 4 people). You will need a car (this was actually the most expensive part at over £400 for a week which is pretty outrageous for a Corsa).

The apartment was a 2 bed room affair with travel cot and high chair for the little one. It was perfectly fine. By no means luxurious but came set in pretty gardens, with large outside covered terrace, small kitchen with fridge, sink, oven, hob and microwave, a TV (I do, but if you don't speak Spanish you'll be limited to Sky News and BBC News 24 though), comfortable enough beds and a decent, hot shower and bath. Usual Spanish style (white walls, pine cabinets, lethal tiled floor - be very careful if they or your feet are wet or you will be on your backside. Everywhere was also always very clean.

There are two pools. A large infinity pool overlooking the stunning Portinatx bay and a shallow child's wading pool. A pool bar sells snacks, drinks, light meals and (if ordered in advance) delicious crunchy skinned takeaway roast chickens (done the Spanish way with herbs, garlic, wine and a drop of brandy) which make an excellent cheap dinner with some bread and salad when not venturing out. A restaurant is under the apartments, sells good sea food at a reasonable price and guests get 10% off both food and drink.

All staff went out of their way to help - as an example I have some mobility problems and our initial apartment was on the very top floor as it has the best views (which meant climbing 3 long flights of stairs) when mentioned to staff we were immediately moved to the ground floor which required no stair climbing.

We had a nice, relaxed time. The apartment was perfectly good for a week or two. Hard to rate it to be honest. If based on the room itself only it'd be a 3* as it is only an average cheapo apartment (the price for design hotel or luxury in Ibiza now however is utterly outrageous and simply not worth the money - £2000 per week at Hard Rock in July anyone?) but if based on the pool, staff, facilities and value for the money I'd give it a solid 4*.

First thing is the Del Rey apartments are extremely cheap. And with that in mind they are a bargain, the rooms whilst basic are spacious and clean with large balconies. The pool area is lovely with great staff, the fella behind the bar was a good laugh.

Portinatx is a nice pretty area with fantastic beaches, and with a few good restaurants. It can be quite noisy at night with a bit of kareoke going on but the room was well insulated so come bed time we didn't hear it.

All in all for the price we paid I was very happy with Del Rey.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2019, having booked with TUI we expected much better. Portinatx itself is a lovely quiet place with a beautiful beach and some nice restaurants but it is by no means a busy resort, and only suitable for quiet relaxing holidays, it really is tucked away and a very small quiet resort. You need to be aware that it is very expensive here, we spent a fortune while we were there because everything is so expensive, so you need to make sure you do your homework before you go to Portinatx. Apologies for taking so long to review, but having checked out the price for next year out of curiosity since they are no longer with TUI (with absolutely no intention of booking) and seeing the extortionate prices I felt I should give my honest opinion. Good points - the staff are all nice and friendly and the location of the apartments is amazing. Cleanliness is ok. The pool is lovely with views of the bay but it is a saltwater pool which I personally don't like, but the good points end there.
Bad points - we had a "2 bedroom apartment" which was absolutely not a 2 bed apartment, it was a 1 bed apartment with a living area divided by a curtain to make an apparent second bedroom, very disappointing!
The noise levels were absolutely awful, we had noisy neighbours on all levels all around us until as late/early as 5 am, furniture being dragged around, children running up and down the balconies screaming, groups of adults laughing shouting and singing, music being played, it was absolutely awful. To their credit I did make several complaints and the security receptionist guy did go and have a word with them but this was just a tip of the iceberg, there was so much noise going on, he couldn't stop it all. As well as that there was a neighbouring dog which was running loose and would start barking from 4-5 am constantly and at the same time a rooster would start cockledooing. I have never stayed anywhere this noisy in my life and it was really getting all of us down.
The apartments are run down and in need of renovating, we had multiple issues with ours, we had 2 bathrooms but they would both flood the apartment and one of our showers only trickled, and the other one wasn't much better, the holder for the shower head was broken so had to hold it the whole time. The kitchen is ridiculous and unusable except for very simple snacks. Too many stairs at the back of the apartment for the 2 bed apartments.
The safes are in reception which closes at about 11pm until the morning, this didn't bother us though.
I would not return to Del Rey for free, let alone paying the prices they're charging for next year. It as absolutely not worth the cost and I would strongly advice against it. Having said that I am going to give it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the good points to the holiday.

The complex is just across the street from the beach and beside the main square where you'll find a few bars, a supermarket, a bus stop that goes to ibiza town etc. .The apartments may be a little dated however ours was magnificent. The view from our balcony right across the bay and out to the sea was breathtaking.. The balcony was massive and the bedroom quite sizeable as well. The apartments were cleaned regularly and for the cheap price we paid this was very very good value for money. There can be a little issue with noise from other apartments and eventhough there is a lift up to level 4 you may stiill need to navigate flights of steps to get to rooms numbered 200-300. The salt water pool is stunning with views over Portinatx and the pool bar is one of the best I've seen. The safety deposit boxes are in the reception are though its not 24 hour and closes fo a few hours in the afternoon and then at 21:30. That said they will keep it open if you're arriving late. The apartments have a small cooker, microwave, electric kettle and an iron for your clothes. I stayed here 9 years ago and it was nowhere near as good as it is now. Based on the price and what we got for it.....im giving 5/5.

Arrived on 7th April 22

Apartment was baltic, we asked could they fix it and was told we had to pay for air con. We explained we didnt want air con but that the room was freezing and something had to be fixed. Nothing was done , it was 20⁰ outside, the apartment was frozen we were putting on extra layers and wrapping ourselves in blankets.
Someone came to fix the toilet but it still kept leaking. Went to go sleep only to hear the front door open with the wind and realise theres no way of locking it from inside and we had to put a chair against the door (which due to the wind, didnt work). Felt so uncomfortable staying in a place with no locks on any of the doors. The rooms are small and old fasioned but the bedroom by the front door had two tiny windows covered by curtains. It couldn't have felt any more claustrophobic. Barely anyone had a word of English which made communicating near impossible aswell as trying to order food. Wouldn't recommend the area to tourists or the apartment at all to anyone!!! And thats by day 1 alone. Personally felt anxious and drained the whole stay, would never return or recommend to anyone. You would get a better experience at home altogether.

Two days left, the two toilets are still leaking, the fire alarm goes off every time we cook even with the balcony doors open and the fan on. Ants all over one of the bathrooms floor. Then the two bathroom floors

Never stay again even if it was all paid for .
Would NOT recommend!!

Stayed here last week with my family of 7, the rooms are standard but comfortable and worth the price. Only downfall is that you have to pay for the aircon but to be honest there was a nice breeze in our room. The staff at the pool bar are excellent and very friendly and the food is brilliant at the pool bar. For my mums birthday they played happy birthday and gave her a sangria which we thought was very thoughtful. Could not fault these apartments.

Just arrived back from Holiday in Ibiza having stayed at Apartments Del Rey Portinatx and I can not compliment the owner (Antonio) enough. Me and my partner and our young lad arrived just after 10pm only to find no one on reception. Unbeknown to us our travel company had not confirmed with Del Rey we were coming and had not even paid them.
We phoned the reception phone number and Antonio informed us of the situation.
Antonio immediately came from and had an apartment prepared.
Issues with the travel company went on for days but Antonio told us (even though he had not been paid or had conformation he would be paid) he would accommodate us for the length of our holiday.
The apartment was cleaned regularly, and we were treated as any other paying guest.
He even contacted us to ensure everything was ok. He was a genuine top bloke.
The apartment was nice, comfortable, clean and well equipped with housekeeping provided.
The apartments having stunning view is less than 100 metres from the beach and amenities.
I am happy to say Antonio eventually was paid.
Our family would highly recommend Apartments Del Rey. They are friendly and so helpful nothing is too much trouble to ensure your stay is a great one.
Thanks Antonio.

We are here as I write this and I’ve felt compelled to state what a fantastic place this is. I cannot believe what we have for the price we paid and in school hols!
Huge balcony overlooking the most beautiful sea view. Sandy beach on our doorstep (beach is cleaned every morning). We had our beds and towels changed and room swept mid week which I wasn’t expecting for the price. Staff have responded within minutes to emails I sent asking if the pool was open (it’s not but the beach is magical) and if hairdryers are in the rooms (they can be borrowed from reception for a deposit).
Yes some of the fixtures and fittings are dates but there is new furniture and the bed is so comfy, foam mattress with a mattress topper!
We visited playa f’rn hiss’s yesterday and I have to say this location is soo much nicer. Lovely beach bars. A fab bakery below us for brekkie. Partial sunset but if you feel the need to see the sun set over the water and not the mountains then you can from the next bay along.

We had what was described as a 2 bed apartment. The 2nd bedroom was curtained off from the lounge/kitchen. Which had a sofa bed and a pull out bed underneath , I really don’t know where a 5th child would sleep. I’m uaware of any apartments that are adjoining. I would email directly with any queries, they’re really good at responding.
