A classic French 2 star hotel which should really be 3 star. Excellent value....with a charming owner. who no doubt has to do everything. Spacious rooms. I imagine it is not 3 star because there is no lift and not 4 star because there is no swimming pool. Breakfast excellent....fresh baguette and good value. In the end you come to...

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. For a two star in a very old building it offered more than we were expecting. Comfortable bed, updated bathroom, large shower, ample breakfast buffet. We enjoyed walking the road of history of Andre and Magda Trocme.

We stayed for two nights in this hotel whilst visiting sites and museum related to the 2nd WW Jewish children that were hidden in the 1940's. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi too. Great views across the river to the town and woods. Good Continental breakfasts was had too with cold meats and eggs.

I stayed in Room 14. The bedroom was large and clean. It faced the Lignon River. The toilet and bathroom were separate and large. Plenty of light in all areas. We arrived on a Public Holiday, Pentecost. It was a Sunday. Hardly a shop open. It was the same the next day, Monday. Tuesday was not much better. Claire the...

This is just what a b&b in a beautiful place should be - friendly, clean, comfortable, affordable. The views are particularly impressive, and if you open the window you can hear the river and the church bell. Very peaceful and romantic. Highly recommended.

Great, peaceful location in a lovely village. Evenings spent on the terrace overlooking the Lignon. Superb service from the owner, Claire. Rooms very clean; bed, very comfortable; windows that open to the river. Copious breakfast. I would go back in a heartbeat.

In the centre of town but quiet, with views over the river. Simple but comfortable rooms and generous breakfast featuring home-made cakes. Friendly patronne who recommended a nearby restaurant, so good that we went there for our second evening and were not disappointed.

I was there with my kid. We stayed two nights. The hotel is just in the downtown of this small village. Big room which needs to be a little bit repaired plus to have more of bathroom accessories (I found only one piece of soap). Good breakfast. Very quiet. A bit cold during the night. All round mountains, forests and...

The service there was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. Babbet (spelling?) took 10 of us into what very much felt like her home and treated us like family. She made almost every part of every meal from scratch out of her garden and from the local butchery. When she discovered 3 of us were vegitarian, she went out of our...

I visited the wonderful mountain village of Chambon-sur-Lignon, 100km south-west of Lyon for a silk painting festival, and was extremely lucky to find this hotel. Owned by Babette and Jean-Paul Goyet, the hotel in its surroundings is picturesque, on a hillside overlooking a babbling brook flowing beneath their sun-drenched terrace [where cocktails were served late in the afternoon]. I stayed...
