On arrival, the owner launched into a shouting verbal assault on me. I had booked two rooms - one for me and one for my mum and he was insisted we had to share. After some time standing my ground (i.e. Refusing to be bullied and intimidated) and after making him phone the booking company (even though I had voucher that clearly said two rooms), he begrudgingly gave us a second key. One of the rooms had no bedclothes and has filthy - we were left to sort this out ourselves. It turned out the hotel was virtually empty so there plenty of rooms he could have allocated us. The next day the cleaning staff apologised - they said that the paperwork the hotel said we had booked two rooms, the owner and refused to allocate two to us and had shouted at them when they tried. We received no apology from the owner. In fact, he didn't speak to us for the whole wee - he just glared malevolently at us every time he saw us. The food is disgusting, especially breakfast. We didn't bother after one day. The rooms are tired and dated and poorly maintained (noisy dripping cisterns etc) The wifi sometimes work in reception. It doesn't anywhere else. The location is good, very near the beach. The cleaning staff are warm and friendly.

There is a lot of words said, but i'll repeat - Junk food (but it better then nothing: in Marmari canteen prices is like in Helsinki, but taste and size like in Petersburg - if you want to eat something good just go the Kos town on Zia) - Rooms like doghouse. Everything inside flooding, leaking, trembling, scrathed and so on - Air conditioner is so weak, that almost useless - Mosquito and ants at the first floor - Service is awful Only few benefits - hotel is small and very close to the sea. Sea is really excellent. If you are without kids, going spend all time at the beach and hotel is only for crack a pair of cold ones before sleep - then hotel could be ok because price is reasonable. But if you with small kids or expect something more - no way here.

Currently stuck at this hellhole known locally as Blue Jay Hotel. Greeted upon arrival by rude and inhospitable manager who wouldn't even give us a sheet for a bed. Sunmaster have shamefully ignored our pleas to be moved and I am having to sleep on a mattress covered in somebody else's vomit. Food is equally disgusting and we have to eat out despite being half board. Tinned vegetables and stale bread on the menu every day. Unstable bunk beds, broken door lock, bathroom floods, room the size of a rabbit hutch. Our long awaited holiday is ruined and even CEO of Sunmaster is ignoring our pleas. If we'd paid for a cheap holiday we'd expect a few hiccups but this was an expensive choice that we made after reading inaccurate descriptions provided by our holiday company. Avoid if you possibly can.

The location: is ideal in a quiet area next to the awesome beach Food: must be the worst I've ever eaten the breakfasts was the same every morning processed meat and cheese. no drinks included with evening meals not even water. Rooms: are ideal small could do with renovating but clean. We had to move rooms as aircon leaked through the ceiling and tripped the lights. Staff: all staff are friendly except for the owner who was very rude to us on several occasions. Told us that we had missed our bus and to get a taxi and leave! Although the bus was not arriving until 2 hours later. Marimari: good area for a quiet chilled holiday night lift however not great but tigaki 20 minutes walk a bit more lively. A great base just to sleep nothing else

It was our fitst holiday with my gf so it was quite simple. The hotel is simple, litlle bit older. Don´t expect much but it´s enough. Rooms were clean, with balcony. Ceaned every day, the staff was very firendly, always smiling. Food was tasty, like homemade. The cook was very satisfied, cause all the people were cheering him. Pool was always clean. he beach not so far away, about 50- 100 meters. It´s an island, so little bit windy. Water little bit colder but clear. some disco there or u can stay at bar. The hotel bar was place for Guy a french mate, very friendly and we liked him very much. nice one low cost holiday.

Really nice spot, in a quiet area very close to the beach. Family run hotel, with friendly staff and a truly personal touch - so much more preferred to the huge hotels full of rude "all-inclusive" tourists. Nice food. All of that at a very reasonable price. What's not to like!

We had a great stay at Blue Jay Beach Hotel, a sweet little one, very close to the beach, located in the center of Marmari, Kos, The hotel staff was very friendly with a familiar attitude. It's led by the owner himself, an elderly gentleman running this hotel since 1985. We had quite a low budget to spend but we got the best holiday out of it. Rooms are very clean and well equipped. We booked only breakfast - the food was okay, we did not expect much as it is not a five star hotel. There are some stray cats and a dog, all were very well behaved and very very friendly animals. The area is calm and nice. If you are searching for a party trip it's not the right choice for you. If you are more into relaxation and getting to know the country and the people, then it is. You have the possibility to rent quads, motos or buggies. We made a buggy trip through the beautiful landscape of kos and booked a ferry trip to Bodrum in Turkey which was only 30 € for a whole day. All in all I can really recommend a stay at Blue Jay Beach Hotel, we will definitely go there again some day.

I've been in this hotel with my parents for 1 week. The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to the beach. It takes 2 minutes by walk and you can jump into the sea. Hotel is quite small and is really worth 2 stars, not more. It is a kind of family running hotel. All the staff there - waiters, cook, receptionist, even cleaning ladies were so kind and friendly except the owner, old man all the time sitting in the hall and most of the time sleeping on his chair. The hotel is relatively clean. They do cleaning every day. But there is one thing I need to point out. Beware of the rooms in the basement. They are in a bad condition. Very wet, stinky and dank. You can smell mustiness from the blanket, pillow, curtains. It is probably not very healthy to breath this moldy air the whole night. The beds deserve a special mention, the spring mattresses weren't very good. I have complained to the owner about the rooms and wanted to change them for rooms on the higher floor. He was so rude and started to shout on me that I shouldn't bother him with these kind of problems. So I rather ended this pointless conversations and later wrote a letter and left it on the reception desk. Fortunately the receptionist was more pro-client oriented and more friendly and the next day we got rooms on the first floor. They were much better. I would like to highlight the dinners. The hotel has a really handy cook. We have tried a lot of typical Greek food. Very tasty. I appreciated that because when I go abroad I like to try local food. Don't expect much from breakfast cause it is continental. So don't be surprised then. The beach next to the hotel is nice, water is beautifully clear and turquoise blue. You can rent two sunbeds and sun umbrella for 6 euros. Hope my review will be useful for any of you :)

For me it was the best hotel for many reasons! It was in a quiet area, actually most of the places closed before midnight, so if you want to have a rest in summer, this is a place for you! I'm very keen on pets, especially dogs. Since I left my dog at home, I had a great replacement :) The dogs came to get an HB with us. I didn't mind, as I loved them! Some people were looking weird at them. Well, they are as friendly as the Greek people so they wouldn't hurt you!! Next thing is that the hotel is VERY close to the beach, however, I don't like the crowds that were there near the hotel, so we chose to walk further and found our favourite beach(very close to the nude beach), about 25 min. walking, but the views, sand were just amazing! I loved that there were only a few of us on the beach. Food in the restaurant. It depends what you eat. I'm not very demanding, so it was OK with me! The breakfasts were rather boring but as I said, it was OK, some jam, some milk, cereals, cheese, tomatoes and tea, coffee, juice. I eat more less the same at home, so I didn't mind eating the same there. As for dinners..... mmmmmm they were just delicious!!!! I couldn't wait dinner every day, thinking what the nice cook would prepare in the evening! Every evening different dish. The staff were great, superb!!! The waiter at the bar-Iannis(sorry for spelling if I have it wrong) always nice, smiling, talking to people, just great! The cook, great as well, and talented as far as cooking goes :) And a few more people together with the cleaning ladies were just perfect!! The boss was a bit shy ;) or tired maybe as he'd sleep wherever he felt like ;) But he was really helpful too, whenever I had a question, he'd answer it. As for things to do in Marmari: beach mostly, so we rented a car to visit the island, there are a few rental points in the city. You can also rent a motorbike, bike or a quad. There are also two offices where you can get a trip, all different types like visiting the island, 3 islands trip, Kos town, volcanic island-Nissyros, Bodrum, Rhodes etc. They are cheaper than the trips that the tourist agency offers you(as usually). There is also an ATM, a few shops where you can buy whatever you need(supermarkets), a few taverns. Apart from our tavern we went to Biggys(which I can recommend too-good staff and food!!). We didn't have to go anywhere else, because we got enough at the hotel. Rooms: they were clean, the cleaning staff came every day, they change the towels every other day, there were lots of mosquitoes though. AC worked very well, the fridge in the room was strong enough too, so the drinks we kept in the fridge were nicely cooled for the beach. There were many spiders and other insects, but this is because we had a room on the first floor I guess. They would come from the balcony. The view we had was on the garden, very well-groomed. If we lived higher we'd have a view on the sea. Oh, one more thing.. Not very important but.. we went there to rest, there was a tv, which I don't really care about. Only Greek or Turkish channel. One channel with some music or at least CNN would do, or just a simple radio. Just to hear the news. So thanks to BJBH we had great summer, great time and I'm sure I will be back in Kos, and if I do, I will choose the same hotel!!!

I agree with Zosia R. Everything is the same. Except there are homeless dogs launging around. A big one scares some guests. In my room there was a pool of water in the bathroom and they didn't fix it. The air condition wasn't really good
