my 3rd visit, just my favourite stop in France. you enter through a 15th/16th century door and little appears to have changed since. The welcome is always friendly, the rooms have been tastefully modernised. good breakfast, great location.

This house is full of character and history. It has been beautifully and sympathetically adapted as a B&B. The hostess is welcoming and very helpful, for example letting us use the washing machine for our cycling kit. The breakfast was very tasty with a variety of bread and pastries as well as yogurt, fruit, cheese, cereal, waffles and home made...

Our lovely hosts, Bernice and Norm, were welcoming and helpful. Top rating for them. Good (not great) breakfast. Otherwise, the whole place is quite a weird, vaguely spooky setup, built around a somewhat tumbledown central courtyard. Room was OK, sort of. Shower dreadful. Totally erratic flow of hot water. There was a message (in French) about some necessary precaution to...

Many thanks for your comments. We are sorry that you did not think very much of the breakfast, we are always open to suggestions if you prefer something different. We find it very strange that you found it rather a spooky setup. The house is over 500 years old, something that Australia doesn’t have therefore perhaps you found it hard...

As their website advises, this B&B is a work-in-progress. It was for many centuries a substantial, working town-house and is now slowly being restored to its former condition. That said, all work has been completed on the guest rooms which are quiet and comfortable with adequate storage space available. I am more accustomed to staying in hotels and I must...

Our first time in Entraygues enhanced by a very pleasant stay at La Porte Valette. Owners Bernice and Norman were very welcoming and friendly hosts, they have spent several years renovating this period property which now provides modern facilities in an ancient building. We had a very nice room with a good sized en suite shower room. A very good...

A group of four of us from a Spanish Steps (.com) walking holiday on the Chemin de Saint Jacques (Camino de Santiago), slept for 3 nights at the Porte Valette in the center of Entragues & loved it. Bernice is very welcoming & wonderful hostess. All three rooms here are spacious, light and very clean. We're looking forward to our...

A return visit to this beautiful area, and with special friends and family. This lovely very ancient building retains its link with history, yet gives a modern touch to the facilities. Still as relaxing as ever, and we stayed in the Family room, which gives lots of space, and is strangely quiet after the noise of London! Delicious food again,...

Situated in the town centre but with no noise apart from the rain at night on the windows. This B&B has improved since we last visited. With plenty of breakfast and coffee to start our days and with the host providing us with recommend local restaurants or as we did on our first night booked a meal (home cooked) as...

We stayed here for one night recently en route to the haute loire . We had our five year old grandaughter with us who was treated like a visiting grandaughter by Bernice and Norman the charming couple who run this welcoming bed and breakfast. Our sat nav played games and we arrived a little late after struggling to find our...
