Cielo Roto is still a secret spot where you can relax in the wilderness. We had the mountain house with a great view over the lake and the whole property. The cabins are simple but everything is clean and we felt imediately comfortable there. At night there were insects around the house, but not one single bug was in our... More

This place is peaceful, cool breezes, and outstanding views. We slept in a cabin up on the mountain with our shuttered windows flung open to the sky - sunrise and sunset while lying in our king size bed. Amazing place, fantasitic tico food (and plenty of it) and great people making our stay so wonderful. Went on Mario's horses and... More

I can't speak highly enough about this home-space. Mario and his staff creates an incredibly friendly, open hearted and laughter filled environment that makes you want to stay forever. The rooms are rustic and peaceful with only the sound of the animals, the river and the fresh rains in the evenings. The food is nothing less than delicious with their... More

The Posada Ceilo Roto was a great experience. We arrived at the lovely open house and were seated immediately for a lunch, coffees and tamarind juice. Mario made us feel very welcome, and we shown to our own very rustic lodge with a covered porch. It continued to rain off and on the entire day and we toured Rio Celeste... More

During our summer holidays we visited Costa Rica. Our intention was to have a tour of the country side. We were lucky to find the people of Green Hikers who were, very much; into helping us tailor our trip according to all our wishes. For the North West leg of our journey, Green Hikers suggested we should visit “posada Cielo... More

I hate to be the first person to leave a three-star review of this place, but our experience here was just OK. Other reviewers have focused on the natural beauty of the surrounding area, the “authenticity” of the experience, the abundance of food, and Mario’s hospitality. Let me give you my take on each of those in turn. I will... More
