Janes is right when he states that views outside the hotel are often better than from a room BUT that is why in my Review 20 November 2006 I suggested to book top floor balcony room.. amazing views from there, none better in the area. James is WRONG when he states that this hotel "is miles from Monreale.." it is...

Monreale is a great place to visit but, after having done that, you are better off staying somewhere else. The hotel does not have a restaurant and is miles from Monreale so you have a long trek to have dinner. Rooms are plain and small and the view is only partial (better views from outside the hotel). Not a very...

Our visit to Monreale was just to visit the Duomo (well worth it) and this hotel seemed to be the only one within walking distance with parking available. Rooms are quite plain, shower is very, very small and water may or may not be warm. Access is via a single lane road but once you get there, parking is plentiful...

The trip along the dead end street where our car squeezed alongside parked and oncoming cars had us frazzled no end - however when we parked and looked up we all grinned, what a stunning view. Palermo was spread beneath us, the mountains surrounding us and the sea sparkling in the not so far away distance. We had booked only...

Great hotel, with a stunning view overlookig Palermo. Comfortable room, albeit the water temperature was only warm. Roberto and other staff very friendly & helpful. Croissants, fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meat, biscuits , cereal was a great selection for breakfast. The very narrow road in made it a hair raising experience on our way up to the hotel, as it was...

Hotel with a lift and car parking, with expansive views over Palermo Reasonable sized room and bathroom (with good shower) and balcony facing the view. Generous breakfast with good choices, served on the terrace. GPS friendly address, but at the end of a road with two-way traffic on a single lane in several places. 1 km from main piazza which...

My husband and I got married in the Duomo di Monreale on 28 april, and stayed at this hotel before and after the wedding (before leaving for our honey moon) with most of my husband's extended family. They are Norwegian, I'm from Palermo. The location is fantastic, overlooking the whole of the Conca d'Oro (the plain surrounding Palermo, full of...

We stayed all around westerm sicily. Monreale is a grotty town, much the same as Palermo which the hotel looks down on. Litter in the streets, fly tipping...awful. The hotel was very old fashioned, in dire need of renovation but having said that the room and bedding was clean and the bathroom was new. the breakfast was very disappointing. its...

Spent 3 nights at the Carrubella Park Hotel which is a great base to visit Palermo while avoiding the traffic and hassle of driving in Palermo. Bus 389 which leaves from town square is only a 30 minute ride to the center of Palermo. We were able to do other day excursions from Monreale which were very enjoyable as well...

“This is purely to correct James report of the hotel 'being miles' from Monreale, it is not. As already reported November 2006, go for the top floor balcony room, without that then maybe there are more comfortable alternatives in Monreale.”
