Stayed at the Melia CG from 03/07-17/07 and had a great time. Most of the staff are an absolute credit to this hotel, couldn't do enough. Special mentions for Didier (Waiter/Bartender) & Edel (Entertainment), two of the nicest people i've ever met. Will miss them both. The beach is out of this world, worth travelling 9 hours for alone. Soft... More

Have just returned home from a 2 weeks holiday here. I can honestly say it was the best holiday I have ever had. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and I would say some of them are actual friends rather than staff in our eyes! The hotel in itself was clean, currently being renovated so decor is improving!... More

I've recently returned from the Melia after a 2 week holiday and I have to say it was the best holiday I've ever had, never been so sad to leave somewhere. After reading the reviews previously I was sceptical but I couldn't have asked for friendlier staff or service. The rooms are cleaned daily and the fridge is stocked every... More

Without a doubt, the beach on this sprawling property is magical. The softest sand. Warmest water. Comfy chairs under thatched huts on the piers. Scuba shop staff was great. Not the most up-to-date equipment...but the staff were very experienced, knowledgeable, and safety oriented. In fact, everyone who worked at the property was lovely. Enthusiastic pool-side staff organized fun activities and... More

I think people who put a 5 star to this Hotel must have paid less and expected 1 star so their expectations were lower than ours. We paid as much as 4/5 star in Europe would cost and got 1 start service and 0 star amenities. Only good things about this hotel is: The Beach (the one that most guests... More

Yes, the place needs renovating, the paintwork is patchy, there are bits of concrete falling off and the whole place looks tired and shabby..BUT...you don't go on holiday to worry about this, it's not your house! Now read a review of things that matter... The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a coffee making machine and an iron. The restaurants... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Meliá Cayo Guillermo is located one of the most beautiful and white-sandy beaches with more than 1300 palm trees, and swept by very transparent waters. The area was an inspiration for Ernest Hemingway, and fishing the great blue river, always on his Pilar Yacht, he created part of his work. The hotel is perfect for couples and families but also for diving, fishing. We also organize the wedding of your dreams in this paradise. ... more   less
