My wife and I travelled to Cayo Coco the first week in Aug 2016. We are a lesbian couple who frequently travel and feeling safe/welcome is always the most important factor. Cuba never disappoints when it comes to making everyone feel welcome and this resort was no different. We definitely recommend this resort to the GLTB community. :0) As always,... More

My husband and I and another couple just returned from a 2 week stay (July 31-Aug.14/16) at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. We have vacationed in Cuba many times and this was our 2nd stay at this hotel, the first being 7 years ago. Not much has changed at the hotel but the lobby is brighter and airy, an air-conditioned cigar... More

Coming back from our 1 week holiday in melia Cayo Guillermo, and it was the worst experience of ever...Just as a preliminar statement, it is important to say that it was our 4th time in Cuba, so we are very familiar with the local content, and we know about the difficulties that the country is facing. The other 3 trips... More

I stayed at this resort with my friend for my first time in Cuba! It was definitely a nice and relaxing stay, however I was expecting something a little more geared towards my age group. This resort was filled with couples and older people, my friend and I were the only friends staying here. We ended up making friends with... More

We have stayed at this resort before for 1 week and we enjoyed our time here. This time we decided to stay for a 2 week vacation. We really enjoyed our time and we were fully relaxed when it was time to go. Since being here a few times the staff get to know you and remember you. If you... More

Just come back from our 3rd visit to the Melia cayo Guillermo. This place is fantastic value for money, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, outstanding sea life, wonderful staff, well kept grounds and very good food. The whole party, including a 4 year old and an 18 month old ate from the grill restraunt, pool bar... More

This was our second time at Melia Cayo Guillermo and we loved it just as much as our first time. It's a small resort with pretty good food and an amazingly friendly staff. Positives: it's quiet, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The food is actually quite good. Rooms are clean, beach is clean. We always found beach chairs under the... More

Great location. We sat on beach everyday as to hot round the pool. The beach is amazing we had the place to ourselves there was no one on the beach. On the afternoon the sea goes right out and it's gorgeous. Walk along the jetty to see the big fish and people fishing. Didn't sit round pool but did go... More

Stayed at the Melia CG from 03/07-17/07 and had a great time. Most of the staff are an absolute credit to this hotel, couldn't do enough. Special mentions for Didier (Waiter/Bartender) & Edel (Entertainment), two of the nicest people i've ever met. Will miss them both. The beach is out of this world, worth travelling 9 hours for alone. Soft... More

We stayed April, May this year, staff were faultless throughout, bar staff and cocktails in lobby bar were perfect. Food and service in Buffett, had no complaints, the chefs at food stations endured heat and uncomfortable conditions but were very efficient. Yes the hotel needs updating, but this is Cuba. The beach has got to be the best feature, seaweed... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Meliá Cayo Guillermo is located one of the most beautiful and white-sandy beaches with more than 1300 palm trees, and swept by very transparent waters. The area was an inspiration for Ernest Hemingway, and fishing the great blue river, always on his Pilar Yacht, he created part of his work. The hotel is perfect for couples and families but also for diving, fishing. We also organize the wedding of your dreams in this paradise. ... more   less
