We had a lovely time for the first 6 days of our 9 day holiday here (8th - 17th March). Very clean room, friendly helpful staff, beautiful beach - loved sitting under an almond tree watching the birdlife - excellent breakfast options for vegetarians, great beach bar and lunch options, enjoyed the caribbean evening and dancers/DJ. Only very minor comments intending to be helpful - appeared lack of vegetarian options for evening meal at times (curry night no creative vegetarian main course), avocado tasted either from a tube or tinned? Lack of freshly caught fish on menu? On day 7 I became ill with what was eventually diagnosed as a very inflamed gall bladder and had to attend a local emergency medical centre which enabled me to fly home and be admitted to hospital in UK. I would like to thank the staff at the hotel for their support during this time. I also appreciated the support of the Virgin holidays Resort Rep. We enjoyed a wonder island tour with Ted's tours booked at the hotel - you achieve a real sens of the beautiful island and the friendly Barbadians.

Lovely clean modern hotel - we stayed in a deluxe sea view room which I would really recommend. Friendly staff who welcomed us with cold drinks on arrival. Really comfy beds we slept so well. Lovely toiletries in bathrooms that smelt and felt amazing. Beach is beautiful and lots of sunbeds are available. Pool was clean and next to the bar We enjoyed pizza and paninis for lunch and ate burgers at Jake's for dinner. Staff and food were all great. Lovely little hotel shop that was reasonably priced My little girl loved the hotel cat. Great location with easy walk into Hastings with lots of food options.

Returned after 8 years to this lovely hotel. Staff were very friendly and the room was kept immaculate. My room (86) was on the 5th floor with a magnificent view of the beach/palm trees. There is no lift so it may not be suitable for some. Breakfast was tasty but you are limited if you are on the Breakfast plan. There is no breakfast buffet as in previous years Happy hour at the beach bar was 5-7pm but I was disappointed with the very weak rum punches-basically a full glass of ice with a small amount of rum punch filling the cracks!

Our second visit to the CCBH and what a great time we had. It’s always interesting reading other peoples comments and experiences (good and bad), for us the whole 2 weeks were exceptional. Firstly, we had a Superior room for 3 adults - the room was plenty big enough, the sofa bed initially had a thin mattress, which we asked to be changed, this was replaced with 10 minutes, supported by a follow up visit the next day to see if suitable. Our room was clean and tidy and cleaned everyday. The views (room 76) were stunning. Overall, the service from all staff, cleaning, reception, beach and bar areas was fantastic all through the 2 weeks we were there. Breakfast - we looked at the package but decided against it and had breakfast off the menu each day - good choice and excellent food, service was great. Evening meals - we were room only so only ate at the hotel 4 times - Italian night, BBQ, Fish night and the curry night - all great, tasty and plentiful combined with the various entertainment activities were well worth it. Charlies bar excellent and the service to the beach most welcome. Keith behind the bar deserves a mention. Reception staff great for getting taxis and answering any questions we had, very professional and efficient. Beach is great, there was seaweed washed up, but that was all along the coast and was cleared away a few times whilst there - in fact the second week we were there it appeared the seaweed was diminishing. Overall, the Coconut is a great, friendly hotel, great staff offering good service levels - personally I believe it best suited for adults rather than young families. - its brilliantly located close to plenty of good quality restaurants along the broad walk and close by.not far to walk to Pebbles Beach to see the horses. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return

We are a bit late writing this review, my husband and I holidayed at CCBH end of November/beginning of December 2022. We have stayed at this hotel a few times and each time we have had a great holiday. The staff are very helpful and friendly and this is why we like returning. This holiday was different as I fell ill, a couple of days into our 2 weeks holiday and my husband had to call reception for a doctor. I had acute pancreatitis. The level of care from Urgent Care Mobile Barbados was outstanding with most of the care administered from our hotel room. The staff at CCBH were fantastic, they were very caring and could not do enough for us and they were regularly phoning our room and checking if we were ok or needed anything. So a big thank you to all at CCBH. A shout out to Tiffany on Security for just being there for us all the time. A big thank you to Vaida and Ted for being extremely flexible with our Ted’s Tour excursion. A trip anyone visiting Barbados should experience. My husband dined quite a bit on his own and he was entertained by your lovely barman Turrell. We experienced great service by the whole bar and restaurant team. We have booked again for May and are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Bait and switched! I booked a deluxe oceanfront room for one last day in paradise following a cruise. I arrived early and was told that category of room was not available but they could accommodate us in another room. 6 hours later at check-in, I was led to a rundown, worn, partially air conditioned apartment across the street and told I would be credited for the change in room. Feeling like we didn’t have a choice since we had already paid in full at booking, we opted to make the best of it. When we returned from dinner, there was a note under the door telling us that they were offering a complimentary breakfast as a good will gesture. At check-out, I was told the. Breakfast was my credit. The avocado toast was good, but not $100 worth! And the offer did not suggest that breakfast was to make up for being shipped off to the pseudo motel across the street. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told it not the hotel’s responsibility, since I booked through Travelocity I would have to deal with them for the credit. Travelocity told me I had to deal with the hotel. I have yet to hear back from the hotel following my inquiry. As an aside, Travelocity has offered me a credit towards my next trip with them. Why would I book with them again when a hotel does not feel they have to honor the reservation? I understand hotels get oversold. I don’t understand not taking responsibility for it. Will not return.

Lovely relaxed hotel, spotlessly clean with everything you could want in the rooms. Stayed one week following cruise, loved the laidback atmosphere. All staff very helpful and friendly. We were room only, eat at Jakes and Mamma MIAs. Enjoyed rum punch at happy hour at Charlie’s Beach bar. Seaweed washed up during our stay but didn’t cause too much of an issue.

My wife and I arrived in early March for 7 nights, after coming off a 7-day Marella (TUI) cruise. Check- in was strange, as we arrived at 14.00 but they stuck rigidly to a 16.00 room entry, even though room was ready. Be aware that they require credit card details and a 'phantom' $350 BD charge. Dont worry, this doesnt get taken but is there, as a security for the hotel. I actually paid for drinks on my bank debit card every time, as it is charge free when using abroad. We had a room with a seaview and balcony; the room is very spacious, decent size bathroom, fan and air con, and a microwave, kettle and fridge. No complaints about the room, as the air con works well, although noisy out on the balcony from the motor. The maid cleaned the room every day and she was very thorough. The beach is lovely, with a large supply of sunbeds for the hotel guests and is patrolled daily by hotel security. The hotel pool area is very nice, although we sat on the beach everyday. The front of the hotel is on the notorious Hastings main road. This road and its speeding vehicles is noisy and dangerous; keep alert. Its pavements (sidewalks) are dreadful, so take care. We were on a pre-paid B&B basis. As other recent posters have said, breakfast choice is limited, if it's pre-paid. It is very strange, as all other items on the menu are same price or cheaper than our limited choice. But the hotel staff insist B&B pre-paids are restricted to choice. Quality of the food is poor. Hard bread slices, which are meant to be toast, were so stale i now wished i'd complained. I swear they'd been sliced the eve before, then left in a fridge to go hard. Service was often slow and one morning a table got up after waiting 45 minutes, and walked out. There is a happy hour at the beach bar but you are limited to certain drinks. Prices are expensive, for what you get. One night we stayed for dinner; it was poor quality. I wouldnt eat here for dinner, go over the road to pizzeria Mamma Mias or further down the road, to Tapas restaurant or treat yourself to dinner at Champers. Not cheap though to eat out but much better quality. Most evenings we came back to the hotel bar for drinks. Distinct lack of atmosphere. You'd be hard pressed to think you were on holiday in rhe Caribbean. And the hotel bar closes at 22.30. Yep, 22.30. We're on holiday, for pete's sake, in the Caribbean. On our last night the barman closed at 22.15 - i kid thee not. Ridiculous. Outside of the hotel, we ate out at Jake's (owned by the hotel) - it was ok. Mamma Mias pizzeria - lovely pizzas and pasta - worth a visit. Further down the road, say, 20 minute walk - Tapas restaurant. Lovely food, lovely setting, expensive £130 for 2-course meal and wine - you need to book in advance. Champers, a bus or taxi ride away - again, lovely food, great staff, nice setting, but expensive, c£130. On the Friday we went to Oistins for Fish Friday. Left hotel early 16.30, in a private taxi, cost $40BD. Yes, costly, compared to the white X bus/taxis, but our driver went through middle of the island to escape the Hastings Road crawl and we were there by 17.00, so got a table, some beers and ordered our food. Then, after eating, we got a table in front of the music stage. 4 bottles of Banks beer was only $12 BD. Bargain. On the Saturday we walked from the hotel to Garrison Savannah for the Barbados Gold Cup (Horse racing). Free entry to sit near the rails, with a few beers. So, overall the hotel is in a good position, beach-side but food and bar needs big improvement. A real lack of atmosphere on an evening. I dont know how they'll cope with their new all inclusive option; their food needs to vastly improve. Even though we're both 60, i think the edge of St Lawrence Gap would've suited us better. Having been to Barbados back in March 2012 it is now too expensive for us and rather underwhelming, to be blunt. Doubt we'll be back anytime soon; there is better value to be had elsewhere.

Lovely, friendly hotel with a private beach. Good sized well maintained rooms and decent shower room. All staff were friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant and beach bar with entertainment every night from music, karaoke, movie night on the beach, paint and sip and a different menu every day. Each room has a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge. There is an onsite small shop and a small supermarket across the road. It is about a 15 minute walk to Rockely/Accra beach along the Broadwalk and a 7-10 minute taxi /bus ride to St. Lawrence's Gap. Happy Hour twice a day, doesn't include beer but does include Rum Punch and wine! The only very small negative is that if you want to change your beach towel then the hotel charges you $3.00 Barbados dollars each time!
