My home town. This place used to be lovely. We were met at reception by a young woman who seemed very surprised and confused. The young man called upon to help was in a dirty singlet which he kept wiping his face on. The receptionists couldn’t find our prepaid booking - we had asked for a motel unit. Barely communicated while trying to sort the problem (theirs - it was on the computer all the time) but eventually found it and placed us in a cottage, which was clean and adequate but we had ask for soap and the right number of towels, which were mismatched, thin and threadbare. No facecloths offered. No pool (warm or cold) available. Sad to see this beautiful site so dilapidated and such indifferent service.

Came to Te Aroha to experience thermal water. Unfortunately I did not read the review for this place before booking and problems mentioned by others are still happening. The spa was empty of water as was the pool. Some facilities are all locked up and if you want to use to have to pay more. Quite dishonest the way the place is advertised. Most facilities tired and dirty. Even the device to catch blowflies in kitchen does not appear to have been emptied for a long time. Manager would not even let me walk from outside camp to visit my friends who were already there (We arrived early) without paying an early check in fee. Greedy and unfriendly !

Auckland visitors, thank you for your feedback. Assuming the locked up facilities refer to the games room? Keys to enter can be picked up from reception, free to use for guests. Visitors to guests are being charged a visitors fee, it allow them to use playground and other facilities during their time at the Park. Will service the fly lamp, thank you for mentioning.

In response to Tony s review, the hot pool has been operating daily between 6 pm and 8.30 pm. Other pools will open from beginning of December, during the summer months. Apologies if this was not as expected.

We booked a powered site for our motorhome for one night. We stayed for 15 minutes and left! The site they allocated us was not a powered site! The place felt unwelcoming, unkempt and totally disappointing!

Apologies for your disappointing experience. We have around 30 powered sites available, a large fraction of these vacant at the time of your arrival. I have not been made aware of your connection problems, as could have advised you to plug in to the next site and repair the fault. Hope you can get in touch with me direct to advise which site you stayed in and what the other issues were.

We were in off season so spa/hot pool not going. Aside from this park was all good. Nice grounds, very clean and tidy. Staff smiley and efficient. Wi fi ok too. Good for 1 night, some distance from town so take own food.
