Stayed here for a weekend with friends. Amazing place to stay, not what you would expect. Being at the entrance to the domain our initial thoughts were it was going to be noisy. Could not have been further from the truth, a nice quite solitude location. Our host Greg was fantastic, although no office on site he is only a... More

We stayed one night at the Hot Spring Wing. Very comfortable bed, spacious room with ensuite. When we entered the room at nearly 6pm, the room was very warm as Greg the host has turned on the heater for us. He recommended where to have dinner and booked us for the hot tub. The lodge locates just next to the... More

Our travel agent couldn't find accommodation in the beautiful country town of Te Aroha so we found this on line. Great hosts, great location and one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. Lodge and cottage both great. Make sure you climb Mount Te Aroha but book your mineral spa for when you get back down.

(Please note that this review is regarding my stay in Feb 2014.) I encountered this beautiful gem by accident. I had no reservations when I left Hobbit Town after the tour and all the hostels in town were reserved, so I had to desperately find another place to stay. Fortunately, someone suggested this place when I was in town and... More

We stayed a night at the Aroha Mountain Lodge after riding the Hauraki Rail Trail, and wished we were able to stay longer. The rooms are in a lovely historic house up on the hill, really beautiful and peaceful. The lodge backs onto the Te Aroha "Domain", which is parkland which includes the historic mineral spa, less then 50 metres... More

Great location for everything Te Aroha has to offer and a wonderful place to stay with great common areas and very comfortable and quiet guest rooms. We had just completed the rail trail and this was a haven to relax and unwind. Easy access to the spa and the domain with the spa a welcome surprise at the end of... More

We found the mountain lodge by chance passing trough town. It was by far the nicest place we stayed during our trip in New Zealand. We stayed in the Veranda Wing. The room was very charming, and we loved sitting on the veranda enjoying the surroundings. The lodge is located 5 minutes walk from the town center and right next... More

Accommodation options are limited in Te Aroha but this place is a little gem. The owners are laid back and helpful, arranged a massage, provided information and even went down the road to buy a beer for the guests staying. Aroha Mountain Lodge is one of 3 places Greg and Linda have which you can stay in, all of them... More
