We stayed at this well run, clean, friendly, perfectly located accommodation at the start of the July school holidays 2022. Family of 4 in a 2 bed apartment. Very impressed with the cleanliness on arrival, had read the reviews about the shower cubicles but they are a standard size cubicle, okay not the rainforest walk in showers you get in 4/5 star hotels but if you want great value accommodation you can’t expect that. Water pressure in the resort can sometimes be low, but we never had any issues here and always had water and electricity. Second bedroom is behind sliding doors in the large kitchen/dining area but perfect size and my teens loved it, calling it their dojo. Main bedroom we had a double bed, one socket next to the bed. Don’t expect sockets next to every bed; they are spaced around. They had kindly positioned 2/3 mosquito plugs around the apartment so no need to bring those, we had no bother with bites at all. We did wear the mosquito repellent wrist bands though. On holiday you want a good night sleep, the mattresses were really comfortable and there was very little noise. You have a card outside your room if you want it cleaning, or if you do not want to be disturbed, choice is yours. Towels and bed changed twice a week. Yes you have to pay for Aircon which is €75 a week, but I can tell you this works perfectly and is very efficient. Trust me you will need it, it’s hot and humid here. (Room safe €15). We had no bother keeping our room on until the evening on our departure day which cost €30. They sell large bottles of water in six packs in Reception for €2 so no need to traipse to supermarkets to stock the fridge. I probably wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking to do lots of cooking and eating in the apartment but there’s plenty of eating places around and you can eat expensive or cheap whatever you want. There is a bakery up hill so you could make sandwiches but we never did, as ate in the pool bar a lot. Food was cooked to order and very very good, reasonable prices with a good selection on the menu, so no need to eat out for breakfast or during the day if by pool, but no food at night after 5pm. Greek breakfast lovely and you can add extras like bacon or sausage etc to any meals if you like. The pool area is pretty tranquil most days, there may be one or two more busy days depending on change over day, but usually you can get beds easily, they have padded mattresses so really are lovely and comfortable. Free inflatables by the pool for use by all. Karaoke and quiz night once a week, and certainly this did not go on too late. We had never been to Rhodes before and was worried about where we were located, this is the best location in Pefkos. It’s on the flat main area with everything on your doorstep, but still quiet. The beaches are a short walk, they are a little bit down slope but very easily walkable, there’s some lovely beaches close, our favourite and closest was St Thomas beach, which is literally round the corner past the Chinese restaurant and is really quiet and absolutely stunning. If you want accommodation right next to the beach, you would then have to be walking uphill all the time to get food because most of the restaurants/bars are up hill from the beaches. Summer Memories location is definitely better than being right next to the beach where there is very little around unless you walk uphill all the time. Some great restaurants in the resort, best ones in my opinion to eat at is Lambis, Dama Dama, Peperoncino plus Jasmines & Alexander’s for cheap and cheerful, but good. Some of the service in the resort is hit and miss but Lambis, Dama Dama & Alexander’s, we had no issues at all with service. The best bar is definitely Zig Zag which is open air and next door to these apartments and absolutely not to be missed because the ambience and staff are incredible, plus gorgeous freshly mixed cocktails. Always showing sports in the background, as all places seem to in this resort, but not in your face and nice music. We recommend you take the bus €1.80 which you catch just outside the Chinese restaurant (1 minute walk from Summer Memories turn left) to Lindos, it’s a downhill walk to Lindos beach from bus, but it’s stunning and a great day out. When you come back you walk back up the hill (slowly) and go to the bus ticket office and catch the bus right outside which takes you back to Pefkos. Easy. Everything was absolutely fantastic especially for the price. Summer Memories would be my number one place to stay if I came back to this resort. Family run by Deborah and sons, Stavros and George. Lovely friendly people. Book directly through their own website and I think then you will get Aircon and room safe free. Highly recommend…
Just arrived back home today 23th July having had a brilliant 2 weeks at summer memories. The family run hotel is well looked after. You are made welcome from the minute you arrive. The food is lovely and plenty of choice on the menu. The bar is well run by the Mancunian speaking Stavros and Cinderella. We’ll definitely be back
Summer Memories is in a good central position but am sorry to say it badly needs upgrading. The showers are tiny and the water supply can go off at any moment as can the electricity both of which take hours to be fixed. The towels are as rough as sandpaper and the toilet tissue is of the cheapest variety necessitating guests having to buy better quality. The “cleaning” is perfunctory and for a very hot country the sheets are not changed regularly - you have to take them off yourself and put them on the floor to get the message through to the maids that you require clean sheets. The cutlery provided for self catering is sparse virtually no utensils. A few mugs probably left by guests are the only hot liquid drinking vessels. Also the toilet brush and holder were filthy - no idea when they were last disinfected. Unfortunately I would not go there again despite the good location.…
Lovely hotel, has everything you need and in a fantastic location in the center of the resort with shops and restaurants nearby. Wonderful family that run it are very helpful and couldn’t do more for you.
We have been to Pefkos 6 times and 5 of those visits we have stayed here. It’s very noticeable that so many guests are returners with some having been come here for years and years. It’s a small family run hotel - Desphina ( apologies if spelt incorrect) is the owner and Stavros, her son seems to do all the hard work. The dad, I noticed, waters the plants. They can’t do enough for you. So friendly and helpful. I did notice one guest was poorly and Desphina took time out to check on her and make sure we got to her room ok. We were in a small room this time round and have to admit would have preferred a little bigger so do check that before you book. But it was clean and cleaned every day. The pool is small but just right and more than enough sun beds. The bar is great and you can get bar food all day. The hotel is set back of the road so it’s quiet at night. It’s a short walk to the beach It’s not the Ritz, it’s a traditional small and friendly Greek hotel and it’s lovely. Do book, you won’t be disappointed We will be going back Shaun & Nicola…
Family of 4 staying on the second floor in a 2 bed apartment. Don't know where to start but we loved this place! Being on the second floor wasn't a problem as there was enough space to leave the pram at the bottom of the stairs for the week. We were self catering but the food served here was that good we should have gone B&B or Half Board. We ate breakfast and lunch here most days. Nice Central location with a 15min walk to the beach and 2-15 min walk to all the bars and restaurants at the main strip. Our apartment was clean and kept clean daily. The beds were really comfortable too. Swimming pool was perfect with 1 baby and 1 child just learning to swim the baby splash pool and shallow end of the main pool were ideal. Plenty sun loungers and umbrellas and music at a nice level. Stavros and the rest of the staff there couldn't do enough for us and really helped make us have an amazing holiday here. Would recommend and hope to be back for another holiday soon. …
Really enjoyed our stay in Summer memories. Stavros and his family are very friendly. Our second floor apartment was lovely and clean. Enjoyed all the food and drinks we had. The pool is a good size with lots of sun loungers. St Thomas beach is a short distance, there are a few smaller coves then a larger cove with a bar and restaurant. This is our first visit to Summer memories. It won't be our last.
All you can want really for a nice comfortable Pefkos holiday, you couldn't be any more central. Nothing at all bad to say about the place, nice rooms, nice pool , nice pool bar , nice food and VERY nice family owners. The bar shuts at 6 at this time of the year , totally understandable when there's only a few rooms occupied, but ot would have been nice to have a nightcap before bed. We'd stay here again tgats for sure. The resort has basically been closing down as its the last week of the season but still plenty of places open to eat and drink. Cheers Stavros !
Stayed again for another two weeks here. What a wonderful place to stay. I love the fact that it’s a family run hotel, and you’re made to feel like a part of the family. The Rooms are spotless and spacious and with so much storage space. The cleaner does an amazing job. This is for sure my first port of call in pefkos. The pool is lovely but whey only downside for us is the fact that the space can be a little bit limited. I’d stay here every time. Love it. Bar, staff, rooms food and everything is second to none
We had a wonderful stay at summer memories in October. The family are so helpful and couldn't do enough for us.The rooms were nicely decorated and cleaned on a regular basis you can request extra cleaning if you need it Clean towels and bedding every 2nd day .The pool is beautiful with plenty of comfy sunbeds. Pool bar serves fantastic food all day . Stavros was very helpful and printed out forms for going home. Summer memories is very central to everything and we will definitely be back next year .
