Can i just say i nearly changed my holiday due to the reviews...GLAD I DIDN'T! We were welcomed by a lovely lady at night who gave us a drink and explained about all what we needed to know and to advise us to come back the next morning to speak to the manager who would help us process air con and safe etc (he too was amazing and pleasant) Let me shout out to Kyriakos, what a gent....we shared the same name day so he got some cakes and played happy birthday songs in various different languages so everyone could get involved! Was a delight to talk to and always had a smile. Yes the hotel was basic but it was what you paid for and was clean and yes NO TV-bliss!!!!! Wanted clean bedding they came and did it... Helped you with advice on buses and places to go of an evening... Lovely bunch of people staying here and everyone knew each other well enough to have a little chat and discuss night before etc and good things to do etc...real family place/environment... We didn't make the breakfast as was too lazy to get up....never happened before but it was so relaxing there! Places to eat all along the strip and the irish bar was a firm favourite again fab staff and very nice and helpful. Stay here and do not be put off...

I stayed here with my 2 older children towards end of season. When we arrived at check in it was quite late and we had to leave our passports at the desk overnight to collect in the morning. I presume so they can take copies and leaving them means less time hanging around when all you want is to get to your room. We were given block 2 ground floor and encountered a ant problem in our room only if food was available to them my son quickly learnt. The apartment had everything we needed it was clean and the maids came every day except sunday. Pool area clean, plenty of sunbeds available and no rushing to get towels down. The location of the hotel is perfect centre to everything, taxi rank and bus stop just outside. The bakery up the hill was amazing for my morning coffee fix. Air con and safe is extra and even in October I needed the air con although not sure how efficient it would work in July/August due the the heat. With regards to being outdated yes it is, but if you don't spend time in your room only use it to sleep this is perfect. If however you want to cook a 3 course meal in the apartment and spend all your time in the room then no this hotel is not for you. It is a basic hotel at a reasonable price. Greece is known for not great accommodation, the bigger posher hotels are fab but tend to be away from everything weigh up what is more important to you. There are loyal regulars that come back every year, I never stay at the same hotel twice the world is a big place but I would definitely recommend this hotel just remember basic, no frills, and location.

After reading the reviews we were dreading going, but we were pleasantly surprised. You get what you pay for, so it was adequate for our needs and central to everything, and taxi rank outside. Yes it was very basic, the maid only cleaned the bathroom once, towels changed twice and never changed the bedding!! (7 days) . We didn’t have a problem with ants like some reviewers had said, but I’d taken a peppermint spray for just in case. The pool area is clean and staff were ok, though we did spend our daytime elsewhere due the noisy kids in the pool, and it’s great there’s lots of places where you can use their sun beds. Yes we’d go again but only if it’s cheap

Good experience. Very good, spotlessly clean room with daily change of towels. Fridge and a kettle, aircon. Fabulous comfortable bed. 10 minute leisurely stroll into very center of Parikia and the port. Noone was at reception at agreed arrival time and no answer on the phone (due to family emergency of the receptionist) and i had to wait long time to check in. An apology and an upgrade to a room with sea view were greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Read the recent reviews before coming however the negative whinging never puts me off. Why book a basic budget hotel and then go on to complain that it wasn’t up to your standard? I had absolutely no issues with this hotel, it’s extremely spacious, the location is fantastic with short walks to all local attractions, bars beach shops etc. Staff were attentive happy and pleasant. Negative reviews about the gent that works on reception as well as serving food and drinks. He is so nice and helpful, he’s not miserable at all I really don’t understand what planet some people are on! The German lady that works the nights is an absolute gem and she couldn’t help you more. Ample sun beds you would never struggle to get one. Pool was spacious and clean, never overcrowded. There is a very small ‘kids pool’ I for one was not bothered that it wasn’t used by the kids due to the size of it, if you don’t like kids having fun in the pool book an adults only hotel. Bar food was lovely, good size portions and prices were decent. Basic rooms but have everything you need, toaster kettle utensils etc. Cleaning was superb, never even saw or heard the maids did a great job. We were in the block at the back which meant walking a short stretch of the hill past the entrance gates, it was hard work in the heat but do able by anyone relatively mobile, only advice is to pre enquire if you are unable to walk steep hills with ease. I would definitely return to this hotel.

The Stella hotel is in a fantastic location for staying in Pefkos, just over a 5 minute walk to the beach & very central for all bars and resteraunts. The pool area is really nice with a bar and the gentleman who works there is very friendly and attentive. We had the best Greek salad! The apartment was outdated & the mattress was very hard but practical and clean but there was an issue with ants in the kitchen that we were cleaning up and in our bed one night which resulted in a uncomfortable night sleep! The Wi-Fi is also very poor in most areas. 2 days before we were due to leave we had a note under our door to say please come to reception. We were stung with ‘you have to pay for air con’ it’s 60 euros and if you use it the next couple of days it will be more which we replied this wasn’t made aware to us upon check in and there was no notices anywhere to state this including on the hotels website. We had budgeted for our holiday and stated this to the man on reception. He said ok I give it you for 30! Which to us came across like a scam to get more money out of you! We then felt very uncomfortable the last days here and didn’t spend any time at the hotel as we could tell he wasn’t very happy with us that we had challenged this when other guests after us happily paid.. the morning of check out I greeted the man saying good morning and I would like to check out and he didn’t say anything to me just put his arm up in the air to usher me out. We won’t be returning here because of this and perhaps the hotel needs to think about all of these things I have addressed.

What you’re getting at this hotel is a basic, no frills room and a pleasant bar and pool area, where there’s also a children’s pool. If value for money and a simple base is what you’re looking for, this is fine., but don’t expect more than that. The hotel is situated right in the centre of the town and on an incline, which while not that steep, might be difficult for some less mobile people in the heat. It’s a 10 minute walk from the beach, which is sandy and where there are several good tavernas, notably Flyers near the boat hire, right by the beach and with lovely staff and excellent service. Our room was average, with a large wardrobe, dressing table, small kitchenette area, table, fairly hard twin beds and a very dated shower room, complete with clingy plastic shower curtain. It was just somewhere to sleep and make a cup of tea, but if you like to relax in your room in comfort on holiday, you would probably not book this hotel. There was a fridge, microwave and toaster, but no kettle, so a travel size kettle would be worth bringing with you. Maid service was good or hardly noticeable, depending on which maid cleaned the room. We asked for a quiet room when booking, so we were quite a way from the pool and bar, which suited us well as there was fairly loud music playing most of the day. Staff were pleasant and polite, although the bartender could be described as’a character’ and we agree with the earlier posted comments on his behaviour. We enjoyed our holiday, but because we were mostly out on the beach or in the town. We would return to Pefkos, but would probably not stay at this hotel again.

Negative reviews had us worried before we arrived but we shouldn’t have been concerned. Upon arrival we were checked in by a lovely friendly lady. Got to our apartments only to find they were immaculate and large. Basic kitchen but fine for what we need. 2 balconies and one with a washing line and pegs. We had a room on 4th floor facing pool which was lovely. 2 single sofa beds in lounge area and a large bedroom. Plenty of plug sockets too. Hairdryer wasn’t great bit otherwise all good. Location is also amazing - everything you need on the doorstep. Bar drinks are pretty cheap and don’t feel like you’re being ripped off. Can only review what we’ve tried and we still have 3 days left. Really great value for money in spacious clean apartments. See you next year!

Just come back from 2 weeks in the Stella,it’s clean ,basic,no frills ,good pool area, well priced bar and snacks. We had a ground floor studio facing the hill, bit noisy but not too much of a problem, the shower was my nightmare ,just a tray with a curtain round, water all over and very slippy, was quite concerned one of us would slip, definitely needs updating, studio was well equipped, kettle ,fridge microwave etc.The Stella is very central handy for buses ,taxis etc, staff were all polite. You could always get a sun bed and loads of brollies. We enjoyed our stay but would I stay again probably not

Great apartments a few details need to be addressed to make it better. I think the overall complex is great, but breakfast for example they have one toaster for the whole of thr guests to use. Staff need to look smarter especially when working with food, at breakfast. But overall this place is great location and great members of staff that make it special.
