Comfortable chalets overlooking the Lake Shore, excellent grilled fish meals and cheap drinks were greatly enjoyed. The outstanding factor however was the manager Alan who willingly and freely provided us with very helpful assistance with our onward journey.

The food here is in my opinion the best in Cape Maclear. It's super tasty and very reasonably priced. They are also very accommodating to changes in the menu (for example asking for salad instead of chips). We ate here so many times in our stay, I would highly recommend the fish it is so tender and tasty. The fruit... More

Mgoza lodge was definitely both one of the cheapest and one of the nicest places to stay in Cape Maclear. It is really well situated and has a lovely grass lawn with proper sun beds and cushions for sunbathing. The food was okay but compared to what we ate in other places in Cape Maclear it was 5* and I... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and the location and chill out area and pool are really nice, great views and it's very relaxing. The good is also very good and reasonably priced. The chalets are also really nice and have huge beds and a tree in the shower. What let's this place down a little bit is the staff,... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and splashed out on the chalets. Perfect location. Lovely room, huge comfortable bed with ensuite. There's a good kitchen which does decent food all day and a bar. There's a big projector screen upstairs to watch sports or movies. We saw Ireland beat Italy 1:0. There are quite a few places to stay on... More

Stayed here for four days in early June (low season it seemed). We stayed for the first couple of nights in the a-frame huts and the second two nights in a room. The A-frame huts are simple but comfortable - with a good sized double bed (can also be made into a twin apparently) and a table, as well as... More

I was very impressed with Mgoza Lodge. Everything from the food (delicious!), to the owner (made time to get to know and chat on a personal level with each and every guest staying at the lodge), to the upbeat and friendly staff (very organized, unique and happy) Mgoza Lodge was on pointe. the cabins are beautiful and well designed, steps... For a weary expat Mgoza was the prefect place to relax. It is hands down my favorite spot on the lake. Centrally located, it's an easy walk to everywhere in the bay. Every room looks out in the beautiful lake and it's a 15 meter walk from the foot of your bed to the water. The restaurant is a shady... More
