This "hotel" is unworthy of two stars let alone four. The bedrooms are cramped - for a one night stay not so concerned - the bathroom was fine in terms of size but the quality of the decor was terrible. I would book a room for my worst enemy but no-one else. The receptionist on arrival could not be less interested and essentially other than checking who we were we were left to find our own way around. Lack of staff was patently obvious as in so many places but this truly pushed the limit. I would avoid this place as a stopover at all costs, however the dinner in the restaurant was fabulous and excellent value for money and worthy of a visit.

Found this place when looking for a nice chateau to stay close to the Eurotunnel. There are some mixed reviews, but I found my stay there perfect. The staff were friendly and welcoming, both front of house and waiting staff. Yes the menu is a QR code, but didn't find this an issue, there is wifi in the hotel and eveyone has a smartphone. We arrive around 5pm, checked in to our room, which although not huge was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. After checking in we sat outside the front of the hotel with a beer, showered and then had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The eurotunnel was a 25min easy drive away and could not have been easier. Would definitely stay here again

The end of a great road trip ruined by a very bad one night stay in a self styled 4 star hotel. Dirty room, badly maintained bathroom, no soundproofing and virtually no lightproofing on the windows. The food in the restaurant was good but we were made to feel very uncomfortable by the unbelievably arrogant and condescending waiter. The QR code menu was a complete waste of time and there was no written menu. One waitress had to pass her phone around the diners with the menu already downloaded-not satisfactory at any time, even less so during the present circumstances. Do not waste your money staying at this hotel.

Our bedroom was very dated and dirty and the bathroom was also dirty. The shower leaked so much from the joints that it was impossible to have a shower. No fridge, no air conditioning, flimsy curtains which let light through in the bedroom, no curtains in the bathroom, the soap dish was hanging off the wall, the bathroom door did not shut. No drawers to put clothes in, only two coat hangers in the wardrobe. There was a wedding held in the afternoon and the noise outside our window went on until very late and then people were walking and talking loudly in the corridor until the early hours of the morning. We could not sleep so got up and left at 5.30am. Asked for a refund but hotel refused and then did not reply to emails.

A very pleasant surprise. Beautifully renovated château in a perfect location near the Channel Tunnel, we chose it for its convenience but we’re very pleased we did because of the high standard of service lovely decoration and pleasant ambience. The meal was especially good and although our room was small it was very well equipped and the bathroom was brand-new. We would certainly go back.

I have stayed here around 5 times now, spread over 20 years. Being close to Calais and the motorway, it is a very convenient first or late stop for UK. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant, the rooms more than good enough for an overnight stay. The restaurant is great value, they make an effort with the presentation and the food has been good. Buffet breakfasts have had a good selection. This last trip we took our dog (additional charge), so they gave us a ground floor room. It’s slightly smaller but not a problem and more convenient. Dogs are not allowed in the main restaurant, but they set us a proper table in the bar for both dinner and breakfast, so you are not limited here. The grounds are fine to walk the dog around for exercise before/after a drive - although there are free roaming chickens in the small orchard at the rear so take care! Excellent place to stay and will be very happy to visit again.

Very French typical old chateau with lots of charm. Wonderful entrance by car via the garden, muddy path, log piles and opens into newly gravel surfaced drive with massive wedding hall or stable. We arrived. but no one to greet us, after a bit of walking about we found the receptionist. We booked a meal and stayed one night. There is a cellar to view and buy wine and perhaps we will try that next time. Evening meal was excellent with a number of additional courses and just 30 euro a head, add on wine and extras we spent about 150 euro on a meal for 2 but you can get away with 60 euro for 2. The room was charming, spacious, slightly tired but again this is French charm, so acceptable, bed comfy, very hot showers, large TV. Some tea and coffee in room but ideally to bring your own English Breakfast tea. No toiletries in the bathroom so need to bring shower gel etc. Sleep ve good. Surrounds excellent quiet countryside in small village. We really enjoyed our stay. Overnight price very good but we overspent on the dinner but it was a treat!

Stayed for one evening whilst heading back to UK. Only 30 mins from Eurotunnel and for an estimated £80 per night its great value. Beautiful building and grounds, lots a parking spaces, very quiet, large bedroom, modern bathroom, steady temperature in shower, gorgeous meal in restaurant and helpful English speaking staff. Only slight negative for me was the bedroom was cold. Fix that and it's 5 out of 5.

We have done a lot of travelling in France over the years and having spent a couple of nights at the Chateau de Cocove at least 20 plus years ago and not that impressed, my husband and I had read that it had (at last) had a bit of an upgrade. We decided with an anniversary coming up, to give it another chance. Oh dear! On arrival, the Chateau to look at is very impressive with a lovely open lawn and many trees in front of it, and at night beautifully lit up. After that it was all down hill. The driveway was full of pot holes which lead to a large parking area. At reception we did not receive a nice warm welcome as expected. The area was gloomy and chilly (we arrived at dusk) no lights on in the bar area and no welcoming fire (which was up and running at breakfast!). We were given our key and sent up the precarious main wooden stairs. I gather rooms 14,16 and 17 are considered their best and we had one of those. The landing was dark with fire doors to open. We found our chambre, unlocked the door and a cold stark room with a cold grey fireplace greeted us. No heating on, no carpet or rug on the floor boards, not even a little gesture either side of the beds! there was no door on the cupboard and all the doors were plain flush cheapees. The whole area shoddy and not very comfortable. The bathroom next door had been renewed but had very little cold running water and the electric towel rail did not work. The separate loo was a joke, with a sliding door that you couldn't easily slide as no handle and the strip lighting behind the cistern on a shelf dimly came on automatically! The dining room could be lovely, but again gloomy (somebody loves brown. Okay, all tastes differ) the meal on the whole wasn't too bad with delightful savoury petits fours and a mise en bouche to start with but my main beef course was far too salty (even for me!). Breakfast the following morning for the price was a disgrace. So sadly as you can probably gather, we wont be staying there again. No romantic fairy tale Chateau here. Such a shame as so near to the channel and therefore very convenient for travelling Brits, what a market to capture! The four star status even for the food (in my opinion) is pushing it. We arrived with such high hopes and left so disappointed.

This hotel was very disappointing . I would not stay there again. There are two entrances - one for coaches and one for cars. Coach customers appear to be more welcome than cars. The coach entrance has a great welcoming view of the chateau The dark and gloomy (round the back) car entrance is perfect for an off-road 4x4 . My car struggled a bit with the pot holes and needed a car wash by the time I reached the car park. Receptionist was not welcoming - I arrived late afternoon. I had booked one of the three best rooms. The ascent to the first floor was via two sets of stairs. The first staircase was wooden and quite wide as well as partially winding. It lacked any safety treads, felt unsafe in leather soles. The second staircase (also wooden) was very narrow, the steps were far too short and would not be permitted in the UK ( the subsequent descents felt very unsafe). The room consisted of a small lobby, bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom appeared to have been renovated. The room was cold ( heater turned off) and it did not feel comfortable. No carpet or rugs on the floor, a large open fireplace that was very dark and spooky. The doors looked as they had come from a 1950s estate house being plain white and completely non-chateau in style. No covings or dado rails - oh dear the designer could have done a lot more. The bathroom had been renovated and was dominated by a massive shower screen on the bath. The cold water tap gave just a trickle of cold water. Exiting the bathroom - there is a nasty small step that was not noticeable until I jarred my spine. The restaurant was not busy being about 10% occupied. The waiter gave me a card with QR code that required a mobile phone QR code reader. My choice of main course was not available. The meal was not 4 Star as suggested. The cost of dinner and breakfast added 203€ to my room bill of 153€. Not good value for money
