Thehotel location is good for visiting the Snæfellsjökull National Park, and it does have some very beautiful waterfalls at either end of the town , but the hotel is average , and a bit overpriced. We were disappointed with the evening meal ( we had the lamb which was tough ) and the staff ( non Icelandic ) who didn't... More

We expected the following: a nice small hotel in a small town, a cozy room, good food in the restaurant, friendly staff. We were very disappointed. The main hotel is decrepit, we stayed in the new annexe which provides rooms but no atmosphere at all and is situated above a pizzeria. The restaurant was closed both days we were there.... More

We may have just caught the hotel at a bad time. We checked in at the same time there were two busloads of tourists checking in. The seaview rooms were reserved, apparently, for the bus tourists, so we had a mountain view room, which we actually enjoyed (the view, that is). The room was so small that we joked about... More

Road tripping this part of Iceland does not offer plenty of opportunities for visiting restaurants or getting accommodation. I was lucky with this hotel. It is all right both as a dining place, and as place to sleep and have breakfast in. I have no complaints. It does look a bit out of date, but it is clean and quite... More

Stayed here early June on our way around Iceland. Room was clean and tidy if minimalistic, no toiletries, nice hot shower. Net curtain inadequate to keep out light, had a room on first floor (no lift) facing street. Ask for a room facing the back as they are quieter, 1 night we were kept awake to way past midnight due... The common areas of the hotel are pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very small and up two flights of narrow stairs - no lift, so be prepared to carry cases up flights of steep, narrow stairs! Although small, the room was clean, and adequate for a one night stay. We were kept awake by the wind... More

This hotel was just OK. It was clean and quiet, but it was located in an industrial park of town so our view was of a water tank and crumbling cement buildings. The room was small. The décor needed a definite update. Wi-Fi connection was very good and the staff very friendly.

Very pleasant stay. Large size room , good breakfast choice, friendly staff. Right in the village centre which is a great choice to tour the area. Hotel owns local cafe just up the road which served great good value pizza. Watch the seagulls out the back in a feeding frenzy !

We arrived late and were afraid we wouldn't be in time for dinner. Finding fine dining in Iceland before the summer season opens is tough so we were glad the hotel was still serving up some delicious food. The room was standard with two single beds as requested. The room darkening curtains were enough to block out the midnight sun.... More

Negatives - stayed for two nights last week as part of an organised self drive trip, so was just the hotel that was already chosen for us. Therefore did not know in advance that there is no lift in this hotel, and with no help with heavy suitcases up to the top floor this was very annoying. Dinner very expensive... More
