Me and my Family visited Mazamitla the first week of 2020 and where super happy with our cabaña stay in Monteverde, the cabin is just beautiful , we got one of the biggest cabins available 2 floor one, and it was great . the only comment i can add to this is for the cost of stay I believe the resort needs some updating, and maintenance in their amenities. The volley ball court is outdated and needa maintenance, the intephone system needs maintenance, and kids play area as well. We had an amaizing experience, just a few things that would had made this a prefect stay.
I love this concept. You are in a cabin, but all inside of a resort. It is beautiful!! You enjoy the adventure, fireplace, fire pit, kitchen, etc, but it is safe and very comfortable being inside of the huge property with all the amenities. This place is great to enjoy nature with your family, friends or for couples. It is great if you want to seat and relax or walking on woods. There are many things to do around like hiking, horse riding, and the town is charming and really nice. I spent the best Mother Day of my life. Only with my mom and son, but I can’t wait to be back with rest of my family.
Great little town south of Lake Chapala at about 7500’. Monteverde Cabins very comfy, clean and all with nice bathrooms, fireplaces and parking. Lots to do in the area, plus tours and tranquility. Great restaurants in town (5-10 mins) or use the fairly well equipped kitchen. Reservation, ft desk and other staff folks super efficient.
Place is really nice, comfortable and cozy. You can buy groceries at the local market or convenience stores and prepare your own food (there's room service, but is a little expensive and not very good). Except for a microwave, you'll find most of what you need. Highly recommend to go to the local market and buy fresh fruit and vegetables (delicious, fresh and cheap), and also taste local dishes and beverages, specially during the morning (try birria, and jugo verde, among others, you won't regret). During weekends occupancy is almost full, but you hardly notice any crowd. You can spend the day in the cabin, take a walk and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or take a tour (several options available if you go to the town, 10mins drive). The weekend we were there, there was a party. Not sure if it was inside the hotel or somewhere close. The music was really loud and annoying, and went on until really really late. The shower was cheap as very little water came out. Weather is usually cold, so having a poorly functioning shower was painful. Overall our stay was enjoyable.…
Best place for a weekend with families and friends, nice prices and beauty places to explorer. everything is close and the people is amazing. You can do shopping, and eat in different kind of restaurants.
Remember that this 5 star rating is based on location. It is not the Ritz. We rented a medium sized cabin, sleeps 6 comfortably. Go with kids in sleeping bags and they’ll probably want to sleep in the loft you get to by climbing the ladder. Rustic setting and the cabin was very clean. They provided wood for the fireplace, soap, shampoo and fresh bottled water (don’t drink the tap water). Everyone was very nice and pleasant. We will come back here!
I had an amazing time at this hotel. There is wifi included, a lot of group activities (basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court), parking, the cabins have the necessities you need (plates, cooking utensils) and if you're not in the mood to cook they also have a restaurant or they can bring food to your cabin. It's a really nice getaway from the city and the pueblo itself is beautiful. The only downside is that you might have to wait a bit in the reception area if it's a busy weekend before they show you your cabin, but it's a wait that's worth it.
We had a bad experience with the attention in front desk and we decided to look for other place. We wanted to stay only 1 night, we arrived to the place and there were like 5 people at front desk, one girl attended us but only said there was not rooms available but that she needed to check, after 15 minutes of waiting we had to ask again because we realized we had been completely ignored, we asked if she was able to give us information about rooms available for that night.. we thought she was searching on the computer but obviously she was not. She only said she was not able to tell if one will be available that night, that would need to call other place in Guadalajara... but she did not try. At the end she just confirmed she was not able to help. In my opinion front desk should be kind and there to provide information and not just leave the customers waiting without providing the whole information or being clear from the beginning. We left the place, the first sight is front desk and the attention is very careless and poor.…
This place is not near of down town, you have to walk severals blocks (in the mountain) in order to get to the local market. But if you came here it's better to order the food of the restaurant, and enjoy the excellent mountain weather that Mazamitla has to offer. The chalet with 3 rooms in Monte Verde are great for a weekend with friends.
I choose this hotel considering the reviews on Trip Advisor. My brother in law was getting married in Mazamitla so we decided to take advantage of the wedding and spend a few days in this beautiful town. Let start with the pros:The property is very close from downtown. Our Chalet was beautiful and very spacious. Beds were comfortable and clean. The view from my chalet was pretty and very relaxing. The cons: The complimentary wood was terrible. It was so wet than even with the fire starting package you can`t keep up the fire. Room service in the mornings its very slow. The food is not great but its ok. I had to wait like 40 minutes to get my breakfast. I experience some problems paying with my credit cards. The first time, I was making a last minute reservation for my father in law and I had to use 3 credit cards to be successful. The front desk lady said that I must have some problems with my cards. I used my cards several times in town after this incident and never had any problem. I had to pay a last bill for room services at the check out and I went through the same problem again. I think the property is beautiful and the location is great but I would find another option the next time I visit Mazamitla.…
