This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel but this time had one of the rooms with a balcony and sea view. It was lovely to be able to sit on the balcony with a cold drink. The staff were helpful but I did have to ask for tea and orange juice on our last morning at... More

We spent four nights at this hotel and loved it.It was stylish without being pretentious and the breakfast was lovely. Our room was really spacious and comfortable with good quality toiletries and a fantastic shower. We had the long menu on our last night and it was a real experience again without any of the usual stuffiness which often accompanies michelin star... Positive stuff first: Waitress Andrea is lovely and nice. She laughed of my stupid jokes. And she smiled all the time. The terrace with the swimming pool is also nice. Negative stuff: I arrived late at night because my flight was delayed. The hotel clerk complained because of this. Like it was my fault the flight was delayed. Strange. I... More

In the confirmation email we send to all our guests it can be read: “The reception is open from 8:00 to 24:00.”, and we advise the guests to let us know if they think their check in time would be later, for someone to stay at the reception. In your case, you never tried to contact us to warn that... More

Great boutique hotel. Staff very friendly, but not enough of them! Close to everything. Restaurant is amazing. Couple if small niggles made it short of 5 stars. Air conditioning in room is terrible, some of the fixtures are poor quality and although not the hotels fault at all, too many young children making it less than peaceful by the pool!

Stayed here for one Night a couple of Years ago on a business trip. This small boutique hotel up the hill, close to the Cathedral of Altea, was very cosy along with a friendly staff. The Breakfast was served outside by the pool with a personal touch of service. I'll be back😊

we ate here again and there is a new chef ! under the direction of Fran Martinez (one michelin star) and Borja Gomariz in the kitchen, no star, yet.... there is only a choise in a small or large menu, tappa style, very taste full and creative! Unfortunately we could not sit outside on the terrace but inside it is... More

La Serena is a modern well-appointed boutique hotel in the village of Altea with 10 rooms and a charming terrace commanding views of the village and terraces bellow strewn with cascades of pretty bougainvilleas in bloom and the sea beyond. We visited in late April, at the time of the re-launch of the restaurant, which has been taken in hand... More

We went to La Serena to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was bland, lacklustre and far from Michelin star quality. In fact if it's that easy to get a star, I'm sticking one on my front door. Because I know my cooking is better than that. And the waitress arguing over a €5 discrepancy on the bill, is just... More

It is very clear the intention of this ladies to offend us, unfortunatly this behaviors sometimes happend. An advise: Next time that you all go together to a restaurant, please, put your tag name in each bottle of wine you drink, that way you will not have an argument with your own friend. And also, ask the restaurant staff to... More

This was our second stay. The hotel has a family feel which means that whilst it lacks the regulated processes of a large chain, the staff and owner are approachable and responsive to requests. The location is good, if you like the old town and this undoubtedly contributes to some of the hotel's cost. On both visits we have had... More

A very comfortable hotel, imaginatively and tastefully designed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are excellent, and particularly enjoyable on the patio. The location is good - in a pretty, old part of the town a few minutes walk from shops and the seafront, but very peaceful, with no noise at all during the night.
