We went as a family of three with our friends who are a family of four. We try to go abroad each year and we thought the rooms were really spacious but some reviews stated they’re tiny so don’t know if it was because we were a family. The room was cleaned really well and the cleaning staff would always say hello. My only negative is that to say it’s a family resort the food was quite restrictive for children as they were just expected to eat the same as the adults and in the evening the bars seemed really peaceful maybe not suitable for a 6, 4 and 1 year old. The resort is massive and quite remote so no opportunity to explore and the public transport is quite unreliable. We did manage to get a taxi into the town but after quite a long wait. The only snack bar is in the water park but the water park is so much fun so we based ourselves there a lot. The beach for the hotel is beautiful but you are charged for sun beds. I think we also went naively and read reviews that said we didn’t need to save sun beds but there are so many rows of them that people do save them at the front, towards the pool. We could always get seats at the water park. Bit of advice, if you’re not willing to spend the whole time at the water park don’t go early in your stay as our son wanted to be there all the time! I would definitely return if we didn’t like to visit new places.…
Just returned from 2 weeks at the Blue Lagoon Resort and we loved every minute from beginning to end. Like others we were apprehensive after reading some negative reviews, however we cannot fault the place!! Our room was spacious and cleaned daily to a high standard, although we did find the bed and pillows quite hard! Grounds were spotlessly clean and maintained and we loved seeing all the friendly cats, chickens and baby chick's around the complex! The swimming pool and aqua park were amazing and our son absolutely loved the slides and the massive Lagoon pool. Food we thought was to a good standard, considering the amount of nationalities they had to accommodate. We always found a good choice and thought it was always warm and tasty. An added bonus for us was the al la carts which you can book through the app (as many times as you want) which we really enjoyed. Last but not least what really makes the hotel is the staff!! They are amazing!! They all work so hard to look after you, always friendly and welcoming and they honestly can't do enough for you!! We highly recommend a visit into the nearby Kos Town although be warned taxis can be very hit or miss! Thank you Blue Lagoon for an amazing stay, we can't wait to return!!…
We've been back a couple of weeks now and miss being on holiday. The room was pretty basic and not very big but it was clean and towels were changed daily. Our block was in a great position, not far from the pool and main restaurant. They gave us rooms next to each other which was good for us as a family of 5. The food was OK there was plenty of choice but abit repetitive. The Chinese and Italian restaurant on site though were great, really lovely food, good service and definitely worth a visit, we were there for 2 weeks and went twice to both. Our favourite bar was the one by the Greek restaurant, the bar man there was really welcoming so a special mention to Mitsos. The pool area was lovely, plenty of space for everyone. You do have to get up early though if you want a few sunbeds, they go quick! I thought the grounds were kept well and looked beautiful at night when all lit up. The Animation team were great, my girls joined in with some of the day time activities around the pool area and the team really made them feel welcome, especially Andrea and Sarah! The shows were also good alot of singing and dancing, Roisin was amazing! You could tell they put so much time and effort into them. Ernesto even got my husband up on stage to make a fool of himself, which was a really funny show. One negative about the hotel would be the fact you have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach! I would have thought that would have been included in your package price. All in all we had a lovely 2 week break and came back with a great tan! 😊…
First would like to start by saying I never right reviews, but this hotel was just awful, I'm really unsure how its managed to get 5*'s The rooms First impression of the rooms were bad, they were really really basic and tiny, hostel style even, the beds were rock hard we had a lot of trouble sleeping in them. The aircon wasn't very powerful which made it even worse to sleep. The impression I get is the hotel wanted to make as much money as possible. The Staff The staff simply couldn't do anything for you. The staff were absolutely miserable, anything you asked them for was a chore, every single morning we had cold coffee that was still cold if you asked for another. None of them looked like they wanted to be there. It was my mother's 60th birthday and we wanted to join 2 tables together, so we asked a staff member for permission to move, to which he replied no, we cannot get around the table in a very unhelpful way. The food and drinks The drinks were awwwful! The alcohol there was watered down and just tasted horrible, when I've previously been to 5* hotels they have done excellent choice of cocktails, I'm not expecting a full list of cocktails from a all inclusive hotel, but the cocktails literally came ready made with no effort at all. The food was Okay, it could be better with the restaurants being nothing special and needing to pre book days in advance. A issue I encountered that I will be complain to tui about. My mother paid for a single room for 3 days due to her partners excessive snoring, when she went into the room the air conditioning was leaking to she went down to reception to inform them, they said 'resolved' but it had been leaking all through the night and she slipped and fell and hit her head and bruised her arm. She was quite upset in the morning and when she approached reception they told her that she knew it was broken when she went in there. Then got surrounded by all the other staff around reception to back up what this one member of staff was saying. Not only was it her 60th birthday which they were fully aware of, but talking to a customer in this way is simply unacceptable, she was disappointed with the hotel anyway and then she badly injured herself in the hotels premises and they did not care at all, infact they still made her pay 8 euro tax on this other room even though she paid tax when she first arrived, there was no apology or empathy, no offer of discount, just my mother in very upset as the hotel was nothing as expected. Disappointment is a understatement please avoid.…
For a 5* place I wouldn’t expect to pay for safe or sun beds on beach, when there is a A/I bar on beach who you actually pay the beds to €5 for 2 beds and a shade. Food was great one of the best places we have A/I in an we have been to over 30 in various countries. The grounds are very large but there are buggies who zip you around and are very regular. Bus stop just up the road,€2 to get to Kos, tried getting a taxi from a call from reception 1 hour later still waiting! Entertainment was very good in evenings shows and great singers and dancers. Day time I don’t know as all around a very busy noisy pool, but they do great pancakes there, we were in a room above piano bar, furthest away from reception, next to the adult pool which was lovely and quiet and the life guard asked parents with children to move to family pool, always plenty of sun beds and a bar and WC close by and the restaurant for breakfast and lunch, always quieter compared to the other 2 large ones. Rooms basic, beds comfy, bathroom very small, as photo’s show, shower curtain attached by string up to ceiling with a drawing pin!! When cleaned the basin, tray and taps never wiped over! The floor mopped but sand just brushed into corner of bathroom! And left! Grounds were quite scruffy, flower beds full of weeds, walk ways left with spills and grime, never saw them being cleaned and bin at adult pool was never emptied in 11 days we were there, I know because the bottle we put in on first day was still in it along with apple cores etc! Pool had sand like stuff on steps into pool and in corner of pool, never cleaned. Cig butts on floor where you wait for transport, never swept away, it’s things like this that lets this place down, compared to Egypt in April when you see men cleaning, weeding and grounds are amazing.…
Me and my partner visited the BLR for 10 nights with our 7 year old daughter at the start of the English school summer holiday. I was tempted to change hotels after reading bad reviews about the food and cleanliness but I’m so pleased I didn’t; the resort is great! I honestly think the people giving it 1/2 stars expected the Ikos when paying less the half the price 😒. I have given it 4 stars for a couple of minor things that stopped it being 5 stars, but overall we had a brilliant time. Food If it is crucial to you to walk in to the breakfast buffet and see every element of a full English (crispy bacon, fried bread), don’t come here. However, there are eggs, bacon, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, pancakes, etc as well as pastries, cheese, all the bread options and everything was really tasty. At Lunch and dinner, everything I ate was delicious. It is repetitive but I certainly went home well fed. Tip: the buffets could do with plain vegetables and salad for children. My unadventurous 7 year old wouldn’t touch the mix of veg in sauces etc. The Greek bookable restaurant does have this but the buffets don’t. Pools/beach Absolutely brilliant. Couldn’t fault them. The water park is brilliantly set out so parent can sit in the middle while children do on slides. If you went with different age children (who don’t need you to stand right next to them! they could all go on different slides and you’d be able to see them. The main pool is massive. In the last few days it got really busy but the water park was never that busy. Sun beds were available at the back of the main pool seating area until about 10.15. Rooms Simple but fine. Powerful shower. Beds made and floors mopped every day. Location A short Can ride (less than 10 mins) from Kos Town which had a great atmosphere. Only problem is that there aren’t many cabs available either from the hotel or Kos so allow plenty of time if you have a meal booked etc. try to go down there before the rush (6ish) then have a drink somewhere first. Entertainment My daughter didn’t want to do any clubs so we don’t know. We went to a couple of the evening shows and they were good. We have done Holiday Villages in the past but wanted a change this year. If you want HV standard entertainment and clubs, stick with HVs. Annoying that you have to pay for a safe. Staff all friendly and helpful. Lots of nice places to sit and have a drink at night. Would recommend for an easy holiday with any age family members.…
This hotel is a 3 star not 5’!!! .Dirty rooms especially the bathroom .reception staff 10% good the rest very unhelpful and try to ignore you when you approach them . Guest relations person with grey hair , very rude , . We caught sickness and diarrhoea when we were there for 2 days , there were others to . They did not want to know . Alcohol is watered down that much it’s tasteless .food is very basic sometimes not much choice and left out for long periods. . No bottled water !! . We asked to keep our room on the day we were leaving as my husband was still not well from the sickness, we agreed to pay , thought it was best so other people would not catch it ! We were told by the guest relations that if we did not leave at 11 am they would call the police . They said we should have called a Doctor but what could a doctor do ? We bought what we needed from the chemist . . Not enough sun beds around the pool for everyone . Ordering a taxi from reception is a lottery and they just say “not my fault” when it doesn’t turn up ? . One elderly couple had ordered a taxi for the airport from reception as the husband could was in a wheelchair , it did not come , the woman was hysterical they eventually got one after an hour , I hope she made her flight ,…
The pools are brillant and so is the restaurant is so clean and the food is lovely the puddings are out of this world!Every single staff member are very brillant and kind.Shoutout to an extra kind and helpful staff member Ntina who worked on the bar by reception was a lovely place will definitely be going back soon x!
We stayed for a week in July 2022. Our rooms were in block 5, overlooking the main pool and restaurant. Overall we had a lovely holiday. Food was hit and miss in the main buffet restaurant and pool restaurant but we didn’t go hungry. I feel perhaps there wasn’t enough choice and food was lukewarm, but what we did have was tasty. That being said the Chinese was fabulous and the snack bar at the water park was the best, lovely fresh gyros and burgers. Pools was amazing and clean. We based ourselves around the main pool for the day but would go to the water park for the odd hour and could always find a few chairs to chill out whilst the kids played. The entertainment team was great, we thought the shows they put on was of good standard. All the staff were pleasant and willing to help. Special mention to Konnie at the pool bar who greeted us with a smile every morning and had our drinks on the go before we even reached the bar. The guys at the reception bar was again pleasant and responsive to topping up drinks. Not a 5* but a great hotel, facilities and staff. We would come again…
