The Aeolos Beach Hotel, a spacious holiday complex with double rooms and bungalows, is built in the traditional style of the Greek island architecture directly on the long sandy beach of the Aegean Sea. The resort is characterised by facilities in a traditional style, which are complemented by the welcoming Greek hospitality, and offers comfortable accommodation in both the main building and in the surrounding bungalows. The relaxing ambience of the Aeolos Beach Hotel reflects the pleasant comforts of home. In May ‘18, we opened the new Wing with 45 Premium Sea View Beach Front Rooms and Pool. These 30 m2 adults-friendly rooms for max. 3 persons offer: 24 hours A/C, Wi-Fi, kettle, slippers, bathrobes (RQ, with deposit), mini-fridge with 2 small water bottles daily, 1 reserved sunbed on the pool per person, 1 bottle of red, white or rose wine per room (on guest's request). The bathrooms have rain showers and a separate toilet. Premium guests have their meals at Tranquillo Restaurant.

We have stayed here twice now, excellent friendly staff, we stayed in premium bungalow both times. Room was lovely and comfortable and very quiet at night. View is amazing from rooms and beach, Kos town easy to get to either by bus or taxi. Restaurant the food choice was great, loved the fresh omelettes etc in the mornings. Coming back in May 2023

We arrived on the 1st of October, really looking forward to our weeks holiday. On the 1st day we arrived at 8pm, there was a funny smell over the whole of the hotel, and you can even smell it outside by the pool & outdoor bar. It was lingering everywhere When checking in I paid to upgrade our room to a luxury panorama suite because I was not happy with the standard rooms. I paid an extra £250 for this room which in my opinion should be classed as a standard as there’s nothing luxury about it, just a normal hotel room. There was cracks all around the door frame inside, black mould in the bathroom and the shower corners look like the haven’t been cleaned in years. I will attach photos of this. We then went into the restaurant for dinner on the 1st night. The selection was shocking and none of the food looked appealing to eat. Only the ‘hot’ food was labelled, salads and other selections had no labels. To make it even worse there was even human hair in the dishes fully on display for everyone to see…. I ended up having a small plate of chips which were cold and a roll of bread which was either stale or come straight out of a packet (not fresh food like advertised on their website) there was also lots of dirty tables around. We thought it may of been because it was late into the dinner service as we only arrived at 8pm so decided to give the benefit of the doubt however we went back down for breakfast the next morning and it was just as shocking. All the food looks frozen and the cheapest of the Cheap and not fresh produce which I thought I had paid for by going by the listing on the website. A place for foodies it states…. The food is the standard of a 2 star restaurant, 3 at a push! Not a 4 star. We were also promised 2 restaurants which is stated on the website, to arrive and only 1 be open. The drinks selection for all inclusive is terrible, only 1 type of beer (full of froth) and small selection of spirits and cocktails. After trying one I would rather just drink water as you can tell the alcohol they are using is obviously the cheapest they can get. Again this would be totally fine if we had booked to stay in a 2/3 star hotel but not a 4!! We also witnessed a member of staff at the hotel who mistook a customer for being all inclusive, made her drinks and then realised she wasn’t all inclusive and heard her say ‘oh I’m sorry I can’t give you these as your not all inclusive, I’ll make you better ones now’ & tipped the drinks down the sink. This is unacceptable, and after seeing this we ended up paying for drinks as did not trust what was in the all inclusive drinks. I also tried The ‘fitness centre’ and even that was in dark dirty room which looked like it had not been cleaned in months if not years, the light kept cutting out too. Dust and dirt everywhere. Not safe to exercise in. I’m really disappointed, as with the room upgrade for a the week we ended up paying a lot. And when the room isn’t up to standard, the food is terrible & unclean, the drinks are awful, fitness facilities are dirty and just the general vibe for the hotel is dingy. All the landscaped areas are over grown, the second beach resteraunt which is advertised on your website is not open. All we wanted to do was go home after only 1 and a half days at your hotel. I feel like the photos are very misleading and not what anyone would expect for a 4 star holiday. I trusted love hoildays website and feel like this was not a vetted hotel and are misleading people like myself into booking a luxury holiday. A complete catfish and nothing like the pictures. We even spoke to the hotel manager who agreed with all my points and said how run down it was but there was nothing he could do as he was just the manager and not the owner of the hotel We were so unhappy we left after 2 days and booked a new hotel…. We were lucky that we were in the position to leave this dreadful dump… AVOID this hotel. For shame on you Aeolos beach. The photos I will attach speak a 1000 words about this hotel

We have just returned from Aeolos Beach Hotel after a 2 weeks stay. First impressions were good and we had read the reviews before we went. But honestly thought it couldn't be as bad as some were saying. How wrong were we !! The bungalow was ok and became our safe haven to escape what was going on around us. But even the TV wasn't a help to us, as all the channels were in German. Then when we found an English channel, which was on at stupid o clock, it had German subtitles. To some it might not be a problem, but as there was no entertainment at all in the hotel, the TV was our only option. We just became more and more frustrated with being at the hotel. The food was a bit repetitive the first week we were there, but we managed to eat. But you had to eat quickly as the plates were cold and the food was only warm. The second week everything changed, a lot of the guests left and the clientele then was mainly German guests. The food changed to suit them and it just went downhill daily. The food was cold and we found ourselves eating salads as at least you expect them to be cold. We tried going at the opening times to see if it would improve things, but even at 7.30 am breakfast was cold, so we didn't stand a chance of getting hot food. In the information about the hotel, it describes it as a beachfront hotel, its more like a seafront hotel, as you can walk along it, but here's not enough room to put a sunbed, as it would be in the sea. So very disappointed by this, but it was far to windy to even go in the sea let alone walk along the front as the sand being whipped up by the wind was like needles hitting your skin, as it was so windy. We had to use a lounger on its side as a wind break . just to get some relief from the wind. As we walked around the complex, so many were doing the same as us. It was the only way to get some relief, but there was no mention of the wind in any of the information we read before booking. We were told that it was coming to the end of the season by some of the staff who we became friendly with and they did their best to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. They were all very friendly, but over worked. We accepted this as the end of the season was the 31st of October as we normally go towards the end of the season. But the beginning of our 2nd week, the pool snack bar closed and they began to take the sunbeds from around the pool area. They took tables and seats from around the pool bar area. All this was going on while we were trying to relax around the pool, but made us feel like we were in the way, to the point where we went back to our bungalow to relax. Only to be followed by them coming past our bungalow with trollies full of chairs and tables every 5 minutes. So we gave up and went inside to watch the TV without the volume on. The final straw for us was 2 days before we were supposed to come home, we decided to spend our time at the pool area with the few guests that were left, who were all complaining about the hotel as much as we were. It became a little cloudy just after lunch, so we decided to go back to start our packing ready to come home. After an hour the sun came back out, so we decided to sunbathe on the beds by the bungalow. As we opened the door to our patio area, everything had gone, no sun brolly, no sunbeds, we were astonished by how they were making us feel. They made us feel like we were in the way and really didn't want us there, which was very upsetting as we had waited such a long time to get away again after Covid and it had cost a lot of money for the holiday, as we were expecting luxury, excellent location, amazing food and the relaxing stay. But the Aeolos Beach Hotel delivered none of these things, its a 3 star posing as a 4 star and will definitely not be returning and would not recommend this hotel.

Overall this hotel is lovely and does not deserve the negative reviews. We stayed in a bungalow with gorgeous views over the sea and we loved to have a glass of wine on the patio and watch the stunning sunsets each evening before going for dinner. Our room was clean, large, very quiet, with a very comfortable bed and had a great bathroom. There was lots of storage space, a small fridge and a large TV if you want to watch television ( we didn’t use this so can’t comment on available stations etc) We had the use of the quiet pool and reserved sun beds with our bungalow but there were always plenty of sun beds available at both pools. Majority of staff were friendly , polite and helpful despite working long hours and would happily chat to you when they had the time. The lady who cleaned the communal areas was extremely friendly and always greeted guests with a big smile. The grounds, pools and communal areas were all kept spotlessly clean. The food was plentiful, fresh, tasty and there was a good variety. Our biggest issue with the food was deciding what to choose and as a result we ate far too much! The wine was also good and I really enjoyed the cocktails. Our main problem was being unable to eat outside (the beach restaurant closed before we arrived) It’s a shame the hotel doesn’t have a veranda or terrace attached to the dining area as it would have really elevated the ambience of the restaurant. In our opinion a big design flaw by the architect! It also meant that the restaurant would get quite hot . The hotel is located a 10 minute bus ride from Kos town and buses come regularly and, in our experience, on time. We had a couple of nights entertainment which was great but mostly there is only background music played. This wasn’t a problem for us as we are happy to relax and have a chat. Overall we had a lovely stay at Aeolos Beach. It is a relaxed, quiet hotel in a beautiful setting but within easy reach of Kos town. If you want foam parties, clubs and kids entertainment then this isn’t the hotel for you but if you want a chilled, laid back holiday this hotel is ideal.

Once we arrived, we were soon left deflated. Nothing but the feeling " we want to go home". Staff were rude, they all made it crystal clear they didn’t want to be there. One person in particular, had an issue with another bartender, which she made VERY clear. She was a young Blonde girl (I didn't catch her name), she was there for 3 months. She told a lot of guests how mis treated she was. Things such as; only being paid 900 euro a month, was only given 2 days off in the whole 3 months she was there, promised she would be fed, but in fact had to purchase her own food. Was arguing with another colleague in front of my young children daily, (I believe they didn't like each other), threatened suicide. This is completely unacceptable behaviour to have. Especially, in front of my children. It may have only been mentioned as a response to a question and, may not have been in serious context but, it is beside the point! The words were used. It's intolerable. She was put in a cabin container for accommodation not an apartment. Rats were seen. I feel the staff were all over worked and do extremely long shifts which is why they acted the way they acted towards guests and each other. My understanding of the term “unlimited" means unlimited. This was not the case or experience at Aeolos Hotel. The pool bar was open from 10am. Not much of a variety of drinks. The beer was mainly froth. We were told it was end of season and that they couldn't do anything about it. We had to pay for bottles of water. The pool restaurant opened from 12pm and closed at 4pm. There was only 1 choice per day! My kids wanted ice cream but were told on several occasions "you have to wait until 2pm" and were only allowed this until 4pm. Yet, the leaflet stated from 10am. Drinks after 11pm until 1pm (when the bar closed), we had to pay for. Another observation of mine and passing conversations with other guests was the lack of maintenace with the Swimming Pool. Not once were there any essential chemical parameter checks carried out. The pool was never cleaned. On several occasions we found gloves from breakfast and numerous other unwanted items in the pool. The only maintenance around the pool side we witnessed were the floors being hosed down. This was then hosed into the swimming pool. Yep, you read that right!. We were all in disbelief and shock at what we witnessed. The flooring was broken in the pool, dangerous for those young ones. Well, anyone for that matter. It was also freezing cold; the sea was warmer. The holiday on Jet2 mentioned 4 pools. 2 main ones, 1 small one for children and a whirl pool. This was nothing but a feature - it didn't work! The lifeguard also told my children off for jumping into the pool. It stated no diving but there were no signs to say " do not jump in". The food was absolutely revolting! There were 3 sections to the restaurant; hot food, salads/vegetables and pastas. There were several areas of concern here. The hot food was labelled with what it was but only on one side. It was repetitive it was not edible or, clearly labelled. If a child picked it up but had an allergy, it could’ve been life threatening. As far as I am aware, the rules and regulations state that, non-prepacked loose foods must have allergen information for every item that contains any of the 14 allergens. The salads, meats and pastas had no labels at all. It was a case of guess the food or in our case; we are not touching that. They had a 2 sliced toaster to cater for around 100 people each morning. The toaster was that good that, when you used it, it tripped all the electrics. They were consistently running out of cups and glasses for coffee and juice. Guests resorting to paper cups. The restaurant was inadequately staffed and had insufficient tables. Guests were standing a very long time waiting for a table and when one became free (quite often a guess at which one was free) guests often had to clear the table themselves. We resulted in eating out which is terrible as we were all inclusive. When we booked the hotel, we were looking forward to the outside restaurant. When we booked our holiday, it did not mention the restaurant closed on a certain date. This was added to the website after we booked. We were only made aware of this after we enquired about booking a slot. We were highly disappointed with this as, it was something we were looking forward to doing. We were not given any clear indication as to when we were to check out. Given that we had a late flight I thought we would have our room until later in the afternoon. When I spoke with the lady on reception, she told me we needed to be out by 12pm. (We weren't departing the Hotel until 17:45pm) Alternatively, we could pay extra to keep our room for a few hours. Considering the hotel was "end of season" (so we were all being told on serval occasions) and they were only open 1 more week, I would've though they would've been able to accommodate us and our request free of charge. We went back to our room at 11:30am to collect our belongings but, we couldn't get in. I had to hunt down a cleaner who let us in. Our room stated "superior bungalow with a sea view" - we couldn’t really see the sea. We were on the back behind the “sea”. Which was a disappointment as we paid the extra for this. Jet2 mentioned on this booking the town was 4.6km this was incorrect, it was 6.4km. The transfer time was supposedly 1hour and 10 minutes again, this was incorrect. It was 30 minutes. The Holiday rep was at the hotel for 20 minutes on the first day. I spent over 20 minutes waiting to speak to Dui ( talking a different language) on the phone. She had made eye contact with me, but continued to leave me waiting. This I do not feel is excellent customer service. I was offered excursions to book however, later I found that the exact same excursion was half price In the town. I felt like I was being ripped off. Everything was running out and all we got was “it’s end of season” we did not pay end of season price and paid for a holiday that I feel was very falsely advertised. It was a disappointment after having waited over 3 years to go away. Overall, we would not come back to the Aeolos Hotel in Kos or, recommend people visit this hotel, as we feel a lot of improvements need to be made in order for this to come across as a 4* hotel in which it is advertised / for it to meet the standards guests expect when paying so much money for a holiday. I have come home feeling really disheartened that I spent a lot of money on a holiday we all needed and have been left very unhappy and misled. Most people come home and cannot stop telling people how happy they are about how amazing their experience was. I, on the other hand have done nothing but grumble. It has made me feel very anxious about rebooking another family holiday next year.

Response from The Aeolos Beach Hotel Management Team, General Manager at Aeolos Beach Hotel
Responded Nov 4, 2022
Dear Guests, We apologize that we could not meet all your expectations during your visit to Aeolos Beach Hotel. After six months of hard work, noticing some fatigue with our staff is justified, without this meaning that you, our guests, should be affected by it. One of our main goals as a hotel, apart from striving to offer our guests a lovely and relaxing holiday experience, is to provide our staff with a stable and pleasant work space. Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to check continuously what the staff are saying. Our hotel fact sheet received by the T.O, mentions all the details of the all-inclusive concept and the services the Aeolos Beach Hotel provides. Also, upon arrival our guests receive relevant information by the front desk clerks. We do not think our lifeguard is to blame for caring about your children and asking them not to jump into the pool. The end of season is a day after the last departure date. We apologize once again that your holiday experience was not to your satisfaction and hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back sometime and that you will then fully enjoy your stay with us. Kind regards, Aeolos Beach, Management Team

We booked through Thomas Cook who falsely advertised the location so if we knew, we wouldn’t have chosen to stay here. There is nothing in walking distance, you have to spend €4 to get the bus to Kos Town, bus these are always late / infrequent. Taxis cost about €12. We stayed in a bungalow with a sea view, I must say the view was beautiful especially with the sunsets but the room itself was disappointing. The room felt old and dirty, the air con turned on randomly and was loud so would wake us during the night, and the towels always had marks on them. For an outside bungalow, it seems stupid to have the paper hanging “do not disturb” signs as they just blow off in the wind. We didn’t appreciate the cleaner not taking a no for an answer one morning and demanding we opened the door, she was rude. We were not impressed at all by the restaurant, I have been on many all inclusive holidays, and this was by far the worst one. For “all inclusive”, I’d expect to have unlimited drinks, but for lunch and dinner you had to wait to be served so would only get 1 drink. During busy periods, you wouldn’t be served at all and would have to go without. In the morning, it’s just self serve juice and coffee but only one machine so there was always a long queue. The food was never hot. On one occasion, the heat lamps kept turning off so food was left to go cold, and we had no choice than to eat it. Toaster at breakfast is just your standard 2 slice toaster so that took a long time to get with everyone wanting it. Waiters kept the same gloves on throughout, whether it was clearing dirty tables or handling food, which was unsanitary and put us off. However this meant we went to restaurants and got to enjoy local food. Positives: The reception were always so friendly and helpful if we had any questions / needed anything. The bar team are fast and friendly, remembering what drinks we like, the cocktails tasted good and were strong. The pool is a good size, deep enough to swim in. Was very cold but may just be due to the time of year we went. The views were beautiful. Some entertainment in the evening, we got to learn greek dancing which was fun

Booked the hotel through Jet2. Photos of pool and rooms misleading as taken from the VIP area of the site. Main pool and poolside are adequate but they are less appealing to look at apart from when lit at night. Very clean all around the site. Toilets in communal areas not well signposted, but very clean. Showers available in pool area toilets. Superior room with garden view had two single beds, with a pull out sofa bed. TV, plenty of plug sockets with USB aswell! Very clean, nothing special. Very close to the beach but as it was rather windy we didn’t get the chance to swim in it. Tranquillo restaurant closed on 1st Oct, so we could only eat there once; again, nothing special. Scrambled eggs like lumpy very runny custard. Interesting choice of vegetables for breakfast! Main restaurant had one two slice toaster for whole hotel which kept setting the trip off on our last morning. Consistently running out of cups and glasses for coffee and juice. Guests resorting to paper cups. Once Tranquillo restaurant was closed all guests ate in main restaurant which was inadequately staffed and had insufficient tables. Guests were standing a very long time waiting for a table and when one became free (quite often a guess at which one was free) guests often had to clear the table themselves. Evening food very poor. Same thing every night. Great if you like Greek salad. We were there for a week and ate out 4 times. Pool snacks ok,something different every day, but no choice on each day. Beer cheap and nasty. Wine worse. 2 x 500ml bottles of water in the room each day which can be refilled at the pool bar as frequently as you need. One barman very grumpy but on the whole, staff friendly. 6.4 km to town centre, not 4.6 km. Bus ticket €2 if bought on bus, €1.50 if bought in kiosk or hotel. Shower head fell off and despite our request wasn’t repaired so we did a bodge job ourselves. Beach/pool towels available to hire for a refundable deposit of €10 each. Hotel arranged car hire who were very honest when we left a bag in the car when we returned it!
