5 cottages around the owners' home with a large hill as the backdrop. They arrange safaris to see leopards and into the forest for sighting of other animals. Leopard sighting guaranteed for a 2 night stay. Food is home cooked, based on local and homegrown ingredients, simple and delicious. Thr evening bonfire with drinks is the icing on the cake. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated.

Bera Safari Lodge is a homestay consisting of 5 lodges. It is managed by a very special team who are dedicated to making your stay outstanding. The lodges are beautifully decorated and palatial, the beds were large and comfortable with a large shower room with toilet and basin and another large room with toilet and basin. It was a delight to be welcomed by the family and to meet the other guests for all meals. Drinks and snacks were served at 7pm around a campfire, to enable us to learn more about our hosts, their team and the work they are performing to raise awareness of leopards and their cohabitation with humans. Every trip out to the hills resulted in leopard sightings thanks to the experienced trackers and drivers. They were patient with those of us who had less trained eyes to ensure that everyone saw the camouflaged leopards. The meals were delicious with plenty to go around. Shatrunjay and Katyaini are exceptional hosts who are genuinely interested in their guest, we also had the pleasure of meeting Katyaini's mother. My husband, who is a keen amateur photographer, benefited from talking to Shatrunjay who was fresh from his book launch. I was sad to leave such a tranquil oasis and would not hesitate to recommend it. Thank you.

This area of Rajasthan has started getting a bit popular for leopards which co-exist peacefully with the villagers (typically shepards) in the region. This is not a national park, but a territory where one can spot leopards in typical rocky outcrops (This is typically off the tourist circuit in Rajasthan) We stayed at the Bera Safari Lodge for 2 nights - very well located (about 15 minutes by road from the Mori Bera Railway Station or about 3 hours from Udaipur on a very good highway) and very near the usual leopard habitat's. The rooms were clean and spacious, property quite expansive and the staff (including the drivers/guides who took us for the safari's) courteous . The food served at the property was a simple fare, but tasty. Shatrunjay, who owns the property and has a lot to conserve the wild life in the area, had stories to share which were enjoyable. Overall a very good stay and certainly recommended if you want to visit these parts. Regards Sanjay

I stayed two nights in the Bera safari Lodge and enjoyed it very much. The rooms are not luxurious, but spacious and well appointed. The lodge grounds could be made more attractive. Guests stay on a basis of full board. The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The guides during the leopard safaris are very experienced and committed to give you the maximum chance to spot a leopard. Success chances are high. Driving through the rough terrain in the safari vehicles is quite exciting. After the evening safaris there is a campfire for the guests with free drinks and snacks. The rates are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

We, as tourists, were supporting conservation of the leopards and subsistence of the area having been threatened with an invasion of mining. We were delighted with the quality of hospitality which included having to have patience to persevere to tracking where leopards are found at any one time. The accommodation, food and staff were of high quality. The knowledge if the guides and family was exceptional and we cannot thank the family enough for the experience.
