Amba Sewana is a friendly and very comfortable lodge near Habarana. Rooms are clean and spacious (we didn't stay in the treehouse), with A/C and lovely quirky bathrooms. Food was excellent, local and plentiful and breakfasts and evening meals were varied and delicious. A highlight was the bird and animal life in the gardens. We spotted giant squirrels, several forest birds, peacocks and a hornbill, and a local family of macaques visited regularly. Highly recommended.

The cottages do touch the wilderness. I felt that i was safe there as i entered the place. The food is always local and on request you can choose what ever you like. The tree houses are out of the world. Safari to the nearest park and other excursions can be arranged by talking to Ruwan. Also you could request him to acquire the services of the visiting naturalist too. I consider this place is like home away home and they will go all out to provide the services you need.

Our two night stay here was very relaxed and felt like a true jungle experience. Comfortable rooms for price and cool AC. Traditional Sri Lankan Breakfast was top notch. The staff/owners were very friendly. Would certainly recommend!

This is my 5th visit to this resort. Its 5 min drive from Habarana town and walking distance via a short cut to Habarana lake. They recently opened 2 tree houses so I booked one. Rooms have A/C, hot water, free wifi, spring mattress and a fridge to cool your beer. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. They offer rooms on BB and HB basis but don't serve lunch. The host / owner Ruwan and his family are very nice and helpful and will go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your stay. There are a lot of birds in their garden and I managed to photograph 2 different bird nests with chicks.

Lovely stay here, very friendly hosts who booked all our trips and drivers for a good price. Also cooked us tasty dinners and breakfasts. We went to pidurangala rock and did the elephant safari whilst we were here and it was all quite nearby.
