Your room is like a little bungalow - some with views of the lake but all charming. Excellent food with a choice of an immense buffet of a la carte. The staff here were outstanding. When we arrived the concierge noticed that I use a cane, asked us to wait a moment and then

Stayed for two nights whilst touring the island. The rooms were clean but basic but the food was dreadful and the restaurant full of coach parties jostling for the buffet. Felt hemmed in in a tourist trap. Even the local curry was poor. Some staff were helpful but the waiting

This is quite an "adequate" hotel. There is actually nothing wrong with it, but rooms and parts of the "village" could do with some updating. The rooms themselves are quite spacious, although the one that we had suffered from a very noisy air con unit - but we might just have

Hi. When are you booked to stay here? I feel 6 nights might be a bit too much. 1. There are many national parks in the area but the closest is minneriya. 2. If you're climbing sigiriya rock and if you like hikes consider 3. pidurangala also (it's free and gives you views of sigiriya from the top). Recommend climbing either or both early morning as it gets hot after around 9 am. 4. Dambulla rock temple 5. Look up where monkey kingdom was filmed - I think m it was in the area and is a beautiful site if accessible. (This is a really well filmed documentary and is a part of the Disney nature series). 6. Polonnaruwa (ancient ruins - get a guide for this) Looking at the list of things above may be 6 nights will be ok after all so that you get some down time at the hotel as well. Or consider having a few days on the east coast (many nice hotels there - anilana, amaya beach etc) which is a 2 hour drive from habarana, for 2 nights or so (if you like the sea). Enjoy!

We had lunch there before our rooms were ready.. we paid cash so I’m sure you can eat there without a room! The dinner buffet was fabulous... they have tables away from the tour groups with music.. the atmosphere is wonderful!
