It was an unforgettable experience. Specialy the hospitality of the staff was extraordinary. They treat us like their own family . And the other special thing is food. We were looking forward get the next meal after having one. Phizal gave a big support with everything. He guided us from a to z. I recommend the other corner to everyone whoes willing to have a fun. , who love eat good food and spend a soothing time.
Interesting place to stay, on the edge of the jungle with so much wildlife to observe. Staying in a tree house was a new experience and I wouldn't change that. Clean and comfortable. It was fun showering with frogs and millipedes 😀 Monkeys running around the pool whilst we were relaxing and having a swim 😀 In the restaurant, there wasn't a choice, we ate what the chef cooked which was enjoyable but I think they believe every visitor has a huge appetite and we felt guilty for not eating all that was offered. Breakfast was good. It was a comfortable stay with a very different experience. Would I come back? Probably not but happy to have had the experience.
Without a doubt one of the great hotels in Sri Lanka. I travelled with my family and had a wonderful time @ TOC. Very friendly staff and all aligned with covid-19 safety guidelines. Food was amazing and cooked nicely in Sri Lankan style. We went to Anuradhapura which is around 1 hour from the hotel and Sigiriya is around 25 min travel from TOC. There was a nice tree-house which enjoyed a lot by my kids. Highly recommend this place for travelers.
We had a very memorable stay in this amazing property. Its the first time I encountered a bridge at the entrance of a hotel. Its like you are entering a total different world with a lots of trees around. Our chalet was well equipped and very cozy. Faizal, the resort manager took care of us very well and made sure we spend a good, relaxing time in the property.
We could enjoy a very nice cuisine. The interesting wood houses stand in a beautiful landscape. we were the only guest and had all the attentive staff for us. The manager shows us the birds around the houses and the lake in the morning.
Amazing place to relax with family. We really enjoyed the nature. Pool is so nice and clean. Great hospitality by Faizal and friendly staff. Food, taste and service is really good. Will come again soon.
Great staff ,always ready to help .delicious food, beautiful surrounding and a great swimming pool .great location very relaxing didnt tire at all of waching & listening to nature & the birds .highly recommend lovely resort 💚💚
A lovely Hotel in Habarana Forest area. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Excellent food. Short distance to Habrana Lake and Ritigala. Hotel has a swimming pool and a fish spa. Very relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service. The Manager Mr. Minila and his team were very caring and that personal touch just make your stay more enjoyable. The bird watching tour was excellent. Thank you Mr. Minila and the staff for your excellent service. I recommend The Other Corner Resort as one of the best hotels to be visit in Habarana Sri Lanka.
Visited with friends for two days during the week. We were the only ones at the hotel due to the Covid 19 pandemic and they took all precautions, wearing face-masks and face-shields when serving us food, sanitised our luggage, etc. You enter via a 'rope suspended bridge' which is not that perilous but those with weak knees, weak dispositions or vertigo may find it a bit iffy. Fret not, there is another (circuitous) route to the hotel via the Habarana lake bund, but you need a 4wd vehicle for that (which the hotel has, so I'm sure they can arrange something). Rooms are spacious enough, beds are comfortable with enough pillows and the ACs work well. Toilets are decent too, with separate bathtubs and showers with open ceilings allowing you to watch the trees while showering. Lighting could be improved though, in the rooms and toilets. You might find some creepy-crawlies inside from time-to-time but that's to be expected given the hotel is in the middle of the jungle so its not an issue. There's also no TV in the rooms which once again is something I like - one does not go to a jungle or beach resort to watch TV! Food is really good. They excel at their Sri Lankan lunches and breakfasts in particular! We were always left full and satisfied after every meal. We took our own booze as well as we weren't sure of the booze situation given the Covid situation and its impact on tourism in the country, and there was no issue. Minila and his team offer very good service and will wait on you hand-and-foot - we never had to ask for anything twice and they were always warm and friendly. A nature walk along the lake bund is a to-do with Minila who is also the naturalist of the resort. You will see many birds when you go early morning, and if you take a boat ride on the lake in the evening, you may glimpse some elephants as well! The hotel has a swimming pool as well as a 'fish spa' where you can put your feet inside and get them cleaned by the fish! The hotel has their own safari vehicle so if you desire a safari they will take you. They also have a friendly dog and cat who came and greeted us in the mornings. Overall, a very nice experience and we will certainly return.…
We were offered their newest tree cottages which were really nice. The food was excellent (we tried both local and western). The staff was super friendly and the service was really great. Will definitely return.
