This is a wonderful hotel set in deepest Northumberland. It is a magnificent old house surrounded by beautiful and extensive grounds including a maze and a sitting out area looking out onto the lovely view of gardens and trees. We spent two days here recently celebrating an old friend's birthday lunch. We had our own private room with long dining... More

We stayed a Doxford Hall to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was superb, the hotel room could not be faulted, the service was top notch and the food ...wonderful. I used both the gym and pool facilities, the hot tub could have been a little hotter but the sauna was excellent. The restaurant is stylish and elegant, ideal for a... More

The hotel is a strikingly handsome hall in a tranquil landscape close to Alnwick and the A1 to the west and the stunning Bamburgh to Craster coast to the east. Beautiful decor, lovingly renovated, exquisite detailing in amazing rooms: the library, the lounge, the bar, the Georgian room; gorgeous gardens lovingly tended; and a fine little indoor pool with Jacuzzi... Have just returned from first ever visit to Doxford Hall and first impressions were very good.Lovely building in a beautiful location and on first arrival an excellent greeting from reception staff, all of whom were first class throughout our stay, and luggage taken directly to our room and car parked by very efficient and polite porter. We ate in the... More

High quality of service at this very comfortable hotel. Lovely garden area in which to stroll. Fine areas for guest relaxation and reading. Bedroom spacious and maintained to high standard and very clean. Most comfortable bed - a bonus! The dining experiences were first class. Good quality breakfasts with lots of choice - enjoyed the pancakes and syrup! Evening meal... More

This hotel is very nice. I was put in a coach house room away from the main hotel and the rooms were excellent, very nice and clean and extremely spacious. They are also a lot quieter than the rooms in the main building! But did not have the services of rooms in the main hotel. This should be noted when... More

Lovely comfortable, spacious bedrooms with a great view of the gardens. Had dinner in the restaurant on the first evening and the staff could not do enough to accommodate a food allergy. Breakfast on both days was the high standard you would expect but special mention must go to the excellent quality of the bacon. Had an amazing facial and... More

We stayed in one of the cottages for a wedding and had the place for 7 days for £650. The cottage was a good size for 4 people and it's in a lovely area of the grounds just as you come in. However I feel as though the cottage could do with a good clean and upgrade. There were a... More

Went for lunch at 1:30 with a voucher we received as a present. Very attentive staff, but we were the only ones in the restaurant! Nice dining room. Enjoyed our lunch with glass of wine then coffee. Friendly staff.

Comfortable, very clean, spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Very beautiful nature around the hotel. Negative point was pricey restaurant, main courses all above 20£, and as the hotel is far from the towns you have to drive 15min to get to a proper affordable restaurant.
