This hotel is such a shame to the IHG group. It tarnishes the great reputation of the Crowne Plaza brand in China that so many professional people in other Chinese Crowne Plaza work so hard to build up. First of all, I need to admit that the hardware in and the view from this Crowne Plaza are gorgeous. From its rooms, guests can enjoy, without any building blocking, the stunning view of the beautiful coastline of Zhuhai's traditional city center. Furthermore, since CP Macau is just briefly separated from the InterContinental Zhuhai by a little strait, it also shares with the latter the lovely view of the HZM Bridge and the great bay it crosses. Therefore, the view from this hotel is arguably one of the best in Macau. The only hotel that may be able to compete with it in this regard is Altira Macau, which enjoys the unique panoramic view of the skyline of the Macau Peninsula. Its interior design is also fantastic. It has a grand but not vulgarly luxurious front entrance accompanied by a romantically lit outdoor fountain. Its lobby and rooms carry on the same vibe. Adopting a great balance of hard marble and warm wood, its rooms are a truly relaxing place to stay, especially, again, when such a beautiful view is alongside it. However, these are the best compliment I can give to this hotel at the very best; its people RUIN everything! I reserved my room via a travel agency, and this hotel kept on giving me a feeling that I, because I did not book directly on the IHG website, was an inferior guest. For instance, I asked the check-in desk whether I could link my IHG Rewards account to this booking, not to accumulate points by this stay but by dining inside the hotel. Guess what the man at the check-in desk responded. First, he gave a mysterious smile (if he had expressed it in a less hidden way, he would have laughed aloud). Then, he used a highly disrespectful tone to tell me, "because you booked via a travel agency, you are ineligible to point accumulation". I am already writing his words down in a more civilized way; when he spoke that sentence out to me in Cantonese, his actual wording and tone are even more ugly. I doubted whether his theory was correct, so I called the operator to ask about that again once I entered my room. Surprisingly, the operator could only understand my question after me explaining it three times to her. Then, she simply said, "I don't know. I will ask the front desk to call you back" Goodness... how can the people in this hotel be short of training to the extent that they do not know even such a basic rule within the hotel. Furthermore, I could not control myself to worry about the hygiene in this hotel. First of all, the first room I received was full of the ugly smell of vomit. Any housekeeping team that pays a bit of attention to hygiene will not tolerate this smell. That made me seriously wonder if my room was really carefully cleaned before the hotel gave it to me. Additionally, the check-in desk just completely ignored the social-distancing rules. There are two check-in desks, but the two men still chose to squeeze together at one desk. They literally really worked "shoulder by shoulder". To accommodate the absence of hygiene sense by the check-in desk, guests need to squeeze together to do the check-in as well. As a result, guests needed to stand right next to each other to check-in. This is entirely intolerable, especially when the region is suffering from the resurgence of the pandemic. Gentlemen, can't you utilize the empty check-in desk next to you to prevent the spread of Covid? I am also not convinced that this hotel cares about guests' feedback at all. I told my travel agency about the embarrassing insult I received during check-in. The agency also recognized that was unacceptable and immediately followed up with the hotel about that and a series of problems that I encountered but did not mention above. Throughout the two hours when my travel agency continuously communicated with this ugly hotel, the hotel never came to me to do any investigation or try to understand what had gone wrong. The only message I could get from their complete lack of action is: can't you just go away... we do not want to deal with you... At once, the hotel even, shockingly, lied. I told my agency the hotel was still cleaning my room when I moved in, and it took them another five minutes after I moved in to finish and leave my room. That was actually just an extremely minor issue that I told my agency just for their reference. But guess what the travel agency reported back to me? They told me, "sir, I am a bit confused. The hotel stressed to me that the room was ready by the time you moved in. They said they were NOT cleaning the room." Fabulous isn't it?! So this hotel implied that their guests were lying when their guests were complaining? Just check your camera, then you can see that it is you lying, Crowne Plaza Macau! It is actually acceptable that someone was cleaning the room, but what I can never stand with is that Crowne Plaza Macau lied! Lastly, this hotel is noisy. I was woken up at 9 AM because of the loud renovation noise. I called the front desk about that and very clearly told her that the noise was highly disturbing. However, this hotel did not show any intention to do anything. I was told that the renovation happened on the 18th floor, but I could still hear such a loud noise even when I was staying on the 8th floor. It perhaps means that, like Pullman Skyway Shanghai, Crowne Plaza Macau does not have any room that is not bothered by noise. Still, the hotel insists on selling these rooms that are simply not suitable for human beings—another typical example of a hotel that has no standard. Well-designed amenity, great view, but all of these are ruined by the arrogant insult by the "professional" people, the lack of hygiene, and the deception in this hotel. The most miserable hotel in town for sure!

Before my arrival , I have call to your hotel reservations for asking about whether my booking have been success and ask her to double check. Wow , when she (should be yoko around afternoon 3pm something)answer the called she told me to check in directly at the hotel without asking my name my detail my reservations, instead I just ask did I have any reservation. Upon my check in , I did told them that I come for my birthday celebration , but they don’t care and don even say happy birthday to me and wishes me have a great day at all even though not a smile. The room overall is fine but these few days maybe I’m not feeling well so then I gave a call to contact center request for a late check out, common sense normally even other five stars hotel will give a very late check out until 2pm, but at first the hotel give 12pm make sense however I just say can I have late check out again but i didnt even mention until 4/5pm ? The person which is very hilarious answer the call told me that the room occupancy is very high , please let me know your hotel is really full occupancy since the nuclei test already change to 48hours how come will be so many people stay, and also you make different kinds of promotions on the travel agent. Fine , when I check out I request to find duty manager who named Vincent Wong to make a complain or maybe a feedback about my stay in the hotel, which he make me so impressed how he handle the situation about guest complain like treating as not their fault and keep mention that the late check out time only can remark till 12pm due to he say that my booking is from Agoda and on the website he mention check out time till 12pm only. I told him that my feeling and feedback which can make the hotel to do improvement , he keep stopping to let me talk and interrupt me in the middle of conversations asking me where I’m from from Taiwan which city I stayed actually it is not relevant to conversation we talk. Furthermore, I feel like he is a typically racist person keep asking me this kind of question , how come the manager did not look into my profile before having conversations with me, and treat me the way the attitude which is he is not even answering my questions at all. Anyway the manager provide me a late check out till 2pm, in that time is already 1230pm I pay all my bills and bring my luggage down, so may I know what’s the point to told me you may check out at 2pm, I don’t want any benefits from your hotel side, I just wanna share my experience to you guys and please please listen to what I’m saying and provided guest what they need instead of keep debate with me without listening my questions and keep ignoring. Hope that in the future your hotel and the staff could provide a better 5 stars service to other guests thank you.

Had a great dining experience on their buffet located at 3rd floor. Freshly presented foods. Wide variety of asian and western. Warmest welcome from the restaurant staff. A bit pricey but worth it. Thank you to the staff for being friendly and kind. I will definitely come back again! Thank you!

We had a one of a kind experience! From check in, we were welcomed by Jim Li and was provided with welcome drinks which they even explained the concoction. Kudos to their housekeeping staff who always make sure we got everything we need in our room. Our room and all the hotel's facilities cleanliness are very well maintained. And it was a seamless transaction during our check out with Tammy Zhou and Emma Cheong. We'll definitely come back again! 100% recommendable!
