This "hotel" isn't so dilapidated it's charming - it's just terrible. I really don't expect much, and not much was provided, but a bed bug infestation is something I won't suffer. It's not that they bite, (they do), but carrying the pest back home in my backpack sounds really horrifying. It was the National Holiday and everything else was booked,... More

Someone had here say that for an additional $10-20, you could have a better accommodation. He/she could never be any right, it's like staying in horror movie. A year have past since I stayed in that place but the trauma still stays with me. I have been to historic or tun of the century buildings and hotel. But none have... More

if you have budget for same price, I'd rather sleep in HK. actually it's just a hostel. I can not sleep well cuz I could here what's going on next door very clearly. Room is a little bit wet which made me quite uncomfortable.

We stayed here two years in a row in 2013 and 2014 at the balcony room. This is one of our favourite place and really it's a place where you can either appreciate its beauty or you can't. Definitely a bargain for budget travellers but also a hotel with so much history and beauty and great atmosphere. I see why... More

I wanted to stay in Sanva for some years because of the film "Butterfly", and I finally made it! Sanva is a no-frills nostalgic hostel as it is clearly stated in its website. Our experience in Sanva was in a dilemma of love and hate. I wouldn't recommend or not recommend it because if you are intrigued by its nostalgic... More

Sanva Hotel (it should rename as Hostel instead) is just like our old Grandma's house, got its old charms without the modern comfort. We stayed for two nights but didn't sleep for two nights and almost beg for the night to be over because it's as if we are sleeping in the oven. Great place to wash your clothes though,... More

As a historian, I really enjoyed the experience here. The accommodations are a step back in time, but everyone's really nice and helpful. It's close to the historic district and buses to Taipa/Coloane. Naming it though, I'd same it's more of a heritage hostel/guesthouse than hotel. It's really about what you want.

Pay a little bit more to stay in better place. This is no hotel, not even hostel. It is old and shabby. the room is just made up from thin partition and not up to the ceiling, there is still a 10-20cm gap to the ceiling. Luckily I only stayed here for one night. I have stayed in all sorts... More

I would suggest paying an extra $10 to $20 for another hotel. I felt like I was in a prison cell. My room was near the bathroom, I heard everyone urinating all night. I did pay $30 a night and no towel. The service was not even friendly. As a tourist, I felt the like an inconvenience. This is just... More

I found out about this hostel is through the Korean movie "The Thieves". The location was accessible to Senado Square and I think all their rooms have a shared bathroom. But we didn't use the bathroom because we only stayed there for a night. They have a ceiling fan and they provide mineral water too. We just need a cheap... More
