For me it was a blind trip. I had my son (12) pick the hotel, and I can't say I was in any way disappointed...well, the food only gets 3*. The Canary Islands are desert like to begin with. We booked the airport- hotel shuttle, and we were by far the last ppl on that bus. After having passed several valleys and tunnels we finally arrived. The hotel staff was in every way helpful and pleasant. No complaints at all. Our double room was spacious yet a little worn, but everything was functional and clean. While many ppl may complain about the pigeon infestation and droppings my son was delighted, and he soon made friends with the birds who eventually fed from his hand. While the surrounding area is very much desert-like the hotel is a botanic garden in its own right. Absolutely beautiful! There is a supermarket right across, and an archaeological park with a skeleton from the 13th century accessible from the hotel. SO don't book the wrong place! The pool areas are very nice, and even in July not overrun. My only complaint is the food, which may have been catered to the majority of British guests. The scrambled eggs were soggy and lukewarm like many other foods, and the beaf from the grill was hard to chew at times. The dining room is huge, and it was quite a challenge to find what you want since they moved stuff around quite a lot. BTW, the fresh fish grill was amazing! The hotel is a real perl nonetheless. Having spent a couple of weeks on Fuerteventura a couple of years ago, I have to say that the beach in Puerto de Mogan is pathetic. It's part of the harbor. It's small and crowded with no waves. The water is muggy. If you're looking for a real beach vacation, then this is not for you. To get to the beach you have to walk the entire hotel grounds, then exit through a door to find yourself on an open market place followed by a street and a some shops. You then have to cross the promenade to get to the beach. Puerto de Mogan itself is a beautiful town with a lot of restaurants and shops. For sure, there is a lot of entertainment all over. The main bus stop is within walking distance if you want to explore the island. BTW, the hotel also has a spa, which offers a deep tissue massage for 70 Euro and a lot of other treatments.

From the outside You won’t See What this hotel has to offer. The hotel is a oasis with its indoors and outdoor landskape on the otherwise dry and rocky Island. The personell is polite and helpfull in every way. The hotel suite is being held clean and neat several times a day and You will get clean towels by the poolarea every morning for your sunbed. The hotel Will suit both couples and families and any agegroup with different activities of entertainment. You won’t find many trashbinns on site, because they collect trash during the day. All facilities appear clean and fresh dispute the hotel support of several homeless cats that lives on site, witch can be adopted on request. Therefore the cats did not bother us as much as we first thought!

Another year and we returned to the Cordial to find that it still has the same quality as every other year we have been. 10 Years on and we still find that for a 4 Star Hotel it strives to keep up a standard which is excellent in every way. The staff are super friendly and will go out of their way to make you comfortable and feel at ease as you take in the wide array of plants and trees which are so well cared for. A very wide selection of food is available at both Breakfast and Dinner but for newcomers to the hotel it is best to spend some time and acclimatize yourself to the location of the vast array of food selections in the Restaurant before selecting!

We've just come back from a week here. It's one of the most relaxing places ever. My husband and daughter have been here before and I was sceptical at their rave reviews. However, the pool, the staff, the food, the rooms and even the foliage around the resort were amazing. We normally hire a car and explore an area, but it was so relaxing we didn't go anywhere other than walk down to look at the sea. I would definitely book the breakfast and dinner as the food is absolutely amazing. If life is getting you down a week here will sort you out.

Lovely week here. Hotel is a cross between an art gallery and Kew Gardens. Wonderful tropical plants and flowers with waterfalls and grottoes spread across the site. Two great pools. Decent buffet and breakfast. Only a five minutes walk to lovely Puerto de Mogan and a good base to see Maspalomas and the mountains. Would love to come back.
