......this is the Astir Odysseus Resort & Spa on Kos. Therefore, I can fully join the ranks of the laudatory visitors. First of all, we had booked an all-inclusive package. The room top, the staff extremely friendly and accommodating and to write about the food here would be to carry owls to Athens. Simply excellent - whether from the huge selection or from the taste! The times between breakfast, lunch and dinner are usually too short to be able to digest what was eaten before.... Only intermittent exercise helps - such as swimming in one of the pools (with of course the large pool right next to the sea to be highlighted) or in the sea. For bathing in the sea, it should be noted that in the week we were there, the yellow flag was raised without exception. Once even in the afternoon the red flag. That is, sometimes stronger waves must be expected. It should also be noted here that our bathing shoes have proven very useful. This to be able to bridge the few meters of stones between the beach and the beginning of the fine sand in the water without pain. Once on the sandy ground you can then walk relatively far out without losing the ground under your feet. On the beach you can have drinks delivered directly to the numbered umbrellas via an app on your mobile phone. We tested this, of course, but almost always went to the pool bar with shaded seats. Queuing was once, here you are served (and usually as soon as you have taken a seat)! In general, waiting times in this facility are a foreign word...... In the evening there is entertainment - in front of the main building and in the theatre (usually simultaneously). Which program is offered where, can be arranged days in advance in the above-mentioned App can be viewed. Furthermore, it should be noted that at the beginning of September there were many families with children not yet of school age in the complex (a circumstance which did not bother us in the slightest). We have booked a ground-floor room, which was equipped with its own loungers (large and comfortable, not made of plastic or the like) located in front of the terrace. This is intended for those individuals who want to avoid a hustle and bustle underground. For us this was too secluded (although from here the way to the main building with main restaurant was only a stone's throw). Therefore, we will book a room in one of the other buildings next year (there is an elevator to the first and second floor respectively!). Likewise, it should be noted that from our room the sea was still a few hundred meters away (no problem and no criticism, but perhaps not inconsiderable for people with reduced mobility). There are also rooms directly at the large pool or by the sea. It should also be mentioned that it is not possible to rent boats, water scooters, surfboards and the like in or near the complex. For us, the facility was exactly what we wanted - hence next year again!

This is going to be long! But I hope this is worth the read!
Me and my partner searched high and low for a good place in Greece, and with this one having so many good reviews we gave it a good shot! Booked in with jet2 holidays!
Now I worry and I researched into this place before getting there and the reviews here spoke a little negative on it not really being for couples and mainly for family’s. Well me and my partner did not feel this at all! We LOVED our holiday and didn’t feel like it was just a family hotel at all!
greeted by two gentlemen at the front who was amazing! I didn’t get names but one had longer hair on top and brushed back and a slighter taller man with glasses! They gave us all our information and the gent with the glasses told us “we don’t want you to worry about a thing, drink, eat and relax” and that’s exactly what we did.
Our room was 301, which was an adults only wing with a Jaccuzi on the balcony (amazing and highly recommend) just above the sirens bar which is bliss, Jaccuzi can be used whatever time so you never have to worry about a curfew (main swimming pools close around 6ish) the maids were on it with the cleaning! And they got the gist that I wasn’t a morning person by the 3rd day and left our room till last to be cleaned (very thankful for that) mini bar which is included in the all inclusive was stocked everyday (minus one day due to use sleeping in quite late), we was worried about the noise due to it being above the entertainment in the evenings but the entertainment stopped around 10-11 so actually never became a problem.
Now for the food, we loved lunch and dinner at the main restaurant Achilles they had themed dinners every evening Asian night was our favourite. But breakfast wasn’t our best experience and I think we only went twice, we’re not really morning people anyway, and with the halfboards/ all inclusive all going it gets a bit busy, my boyfriend felt the scrambled eggs were very overcooked and the breakfast just didn’t compare to lunch and dinner, but again we wasn’t too bothered, we chose the lay in and tucked into the lunch menu instead. I absolutely love how you guys had a honeycomb a couple of evenings! Getting to try things like that made it that extra! Special shout out to Peter the waiter who remembered us everyday and always asked us how we were! Even when he saw us outside the complex he waved at us on his way to work! Amazing person!
Achilles restaurant did good lunches too and also we had one night of a 4 course meal included with our stay, my partner was emailing you to arrange a surprise birthday set up for me and it was done complimentary and honestly so beautiful! I really appreciate the little touches you did to make my birthday feel special and also a massive thank you to Fjoord (hope I’m spelling that right) for serving us that evening and remembering us for the rest of the holiday!
Pools
There was a main pool at the front which we had a view of, just behind that was a kids pool, and then you had a pool that was near the beach again a separate kids pool too and then also a private beach included. It was cold pools which is definitely needed in that weather, and not many kids around the main ones, I’m pretty sure all the pools stayed the same level. So I was never too deep in a pool. And there was always lifeguards around.
I’m pretty sure there was an indoor pool where the spa was but I wasn’t sure if we could have used that without spa treatments and also we had our jaccuzi so again we very rarely went to the pools the main one we did was the one near the sirens bar ( shout out to the sirens bartenders who made us cocktails all week)
I feel like you need to give this holiday a second go! There’s so much we didn’t even get to do! We didn’t get to do the spa and We didn’t do the entertainment that much in the evening and we also didn’t do the beach bar a lot in the evenings either! I think because we had our jacuzzi up in our room it’s just easy to hear all the entertainment and being right above a bar we just got lazy! But that’s what we’re here for! We played bingo and also did some mini golf with entertainer Ludi? Hope I spelt that right! She was lovely to chat to and has such amazing energy! We wanted to do laser tag but we was so full every evening from the food running around was just not on the cards, and we also saw the climbing wall, there’s plenty to do.
The app is easy to use! And when I was researching I thought our all inclusive was only going to be 60% of the drinks menu when I looked online I was a bit gutted but upon being there I’m going to say it’s more 90% all the good spirits are included and majority of the cocktails which was a massive relief! And ordering to the loungers was a massive bonus, never had any problems with the apps personally!
With the buses, just check with reception where you have to go, we didn’t and we got lost, which is our fault, we landed up on the village buses not the city ones, so just be extra careful!
I only have a few things I’d like to say maybe room for improvements.
Reading reviews I was excited to try waffles and pancakes, I couldn’t find them anywhere and was a little gutted but there was plenty of other desserts to replace them. Also with it being 5* star I was expecting some better icecreams or ice lolly’s, there was only scooping gelato available at main restaurant and beach bar and the toppings always needed replacing. Would have been nice to have a selection of wrapped ice creams and ice lolly’s but that’s just a personal opinion!
We also would have liked extra information on potential later check outs, we spoke to one woman and she needed to check if that was available for us and said it was going to be 80€ which felt a bit steep especially when we didn’t even check in to our place till 10:30pm at night on our first day (which is no one’s control just how late arrivals are) then the next day when I tried to chat about the prices they basically offered us 80€ if we wanted to rent the room till 6pm or 60€ if we wanted to rent the room till 5pm! Which 20€ for one extra hour sounds crazy to me! We originally wanted 5:30pm so we said we’d take the 5pm one and paid extra which we are glad we did but we would rather see like an hourly rate? Because the price difference didn’t make sense to us. We was also allowed to still use our all inclusive until we left the hotel which is nice, we was worried we wouldn’t have it the rest of the day as we wasn’t leaving until the evening.
All in all I would 100% come here again, my first time at an 5* and personally had the best holiday ever, even if it is a family based resort and spa no family’s bothered us! We heard children but children exist? They had separate pools for them and the most we heard was a couple of cries at the restaurants every now and then which is to be expected, other than that it was absolute bliss! Staff are amazing the vibes were so so good, we will definitely come back at one point 🫶🏻 thank you so much for having us!

We received a very friendly welcome when we arrived in the evening, and the walk through the complex (the suitcases were brought to the room by shuttle) and the rooms with direct pool access were the first highlights of the holiday. And they remained so! The complex is large enough for the guests to spread out well, very well maintained and very nicely laid out - including at least two or three cats that are very trusting and well cared for. The rooms are nicely and modernly furnished, the pools are clean, the food is very tasty with an incredible selection and lots of variety. In the evenings there is a changing theme evening, sometimes Greek, sometimes Italian, sometimes Mexican or Indian... The staff are consistently friendly, attentive, very fond of children, helpful but not pushy. The room service is fast, thorough, friendly - simply top! There are fitness rooms and a spa. Absolutely recommended, 5/5 stars!

We had a superior time at the Astir Odysseus Resort. When we arrived at the hotel we were carried on our hands as it were. We didn't know what to expect when we booked this trip after some searches. But this was so much more of what we expected. The accommodation is great nice and tidy. The rooms are very modern, sleek and very neat with a good working air conditioning, free save and minibar which was filled daily with water and soft drinks such as coca cola, coca cola zero, fanta and sprite. The coffee and tea facilities were also richly replenished daily as well as coffee for the Nespresso machine. Our room was cleaned every day as well as the sheets were changed daily if one wished. Towels were also changed every day. The staff is super friendly and does everything with a smile. Nothing is too much for them. They never keep you waiting too long to serve you with what you need. The food is really great. You have a huge choice and vary daily. The food is also well heated and not lukewarm as I have experienced in many hotels. This is really as it should be. The hotel is also quiet despite a lot of people present. You don't notice much. In high season there are many beds at the swimming pools occupied but if you go further to look or at the beach there are certainly quite a few beds available. You can also have drinks brought to the pool or beach with an app. You won't have to wait long for that either. In short....it was a great experience and I am already sure I will be back next year. Thank you Astir Oddysseus that I was able to experience this great holiday.

Very comfortable room, with beautiful views of the canal connecting the island to Turkey. The structure gave us at check in an upgrade of the room, originally with sea view, offering us one with sea view and the jacuzzi pool on the terrace. the restaurant in the formula we chose half board (Half Pension) satisfied us for quality of the offer, with a wide choice of preparations, taken from the disparate international cuisines. Excellent internal services, such as bars and restaurants, manageable with a dedicated app. Courteous and kind staff of the various sectors (a little less the one with which we came across the reception, little oriented to give routine information about the surrounding environment, schedules, services). It would be necessary to better arrange the private beach, decidedly neglected, if you consider that the hotel qualifies with 5 stars, cleaning it from dirt, making access to the sea easier (eliminating stone carried by the backwash to the shore) and perhaps maintaining the metal frames of the umbrellas, as rusty.

Premise: The Resort is really very nice and well maintained, nice gardens, great pools, and even the room cleaning by Greek standards was always good. Another thing I appreciated is that there is the custom - perhaps very Italian- to "book" the beds early in the morning and then you find place even in August easily. The beach is sandy and has the plus that you are always in the front row being narrow and long, but the first meter to enter the water is very large stones and you need shoes to enter the water (they sell them at the convenience store inside the hotel). Food I must say good level, especially breakfast with lots of choice, crepes, waffles, omelettes all done on the spot, sometimes a bit 'repetitive especially at lunch almost always pizza and meat, but normal for these places. Only twice did we find the grilled fish cooked on the spot really good. Things I didn't like: the food is good but the desserts are not at all with creams always the same, we were in another village in Crete last year and they were identical so they definitely come from some supplier. Our room was sea view but actually to see the sea you had to go out on the balcony if we do not consider two microscopic windows. Kids club activities are in fact only in the morning, because the afternoon is just "free play" without specific activities. Also bearing in mind that the animators speak only English, this turned out not to be a problem in the end the children adapt and make friends very easily but know it. All inclusive but in reality some drinks are not, eg if you want a vodka tonic is included but a mojito is not. And the thing we liked the least was the evening mini disco. Meanwhile it lasts only 30 minutes, from 20 to 20.30 (in the Resort where we stayed last year for example it lasted 30 minutes but the activities for children in the evening in total were from 20 to 21 with face painting or other games) and especially of these 30 minutes at least 10-15 are dedicated to this activity that I find really terrible in which parents are asked during the day to buy shirts for children on which their name is written and at one point of the mini disco a person in a lion costume comes out on stage and the children who have been bought the shirt on stage are called. A practice that we found really questionable, seems really made to take money from parents to get their children on stage and not make them feel different from others who are called. Really worth seeing again.

We were there for 11 nights at the end of October 2023 as a couple.
Reception partly spoke German and everyone was very nice and accommodating. Check-in was problem-free.
We had a room with a whirlpool on the balcony. The room was very well furnished, nothing was missing. The minibar was refilled once a day (with all inclusive, the use of the minibar was free). Room service was very thorough.
The food was very good, there were three restaurants, one of which was always included in the all inclusive (large and extensive buffet at lunch and dinner), one was for a fee in the evening (all inclusive at lunch) and one was a purely evening restaurant (for a fee).
It was very tasty and there was something for everyone! The staff were also very attentive and nice.
The beach was partly sand, partly stones. However, the stones were only on the shore, after which it went very far into the sea on the shallow sandy bottom. It was very suitable for children.
There were 5 pools, divided into 2 in the upper area and 2 in the lower area on the beach. There was a children's pool and a swimming pool.
There was also an indoor pool, which we didn't use.
There was childcare and changing entertainment.
All in all, it was a very successful holiday and the 5 stars for the hotel are definitely justified!

We stayed at this resort from 12th to 19th August. At the beginning they assigned us a sea view room (as I had booked) on the ground floor, even though I had requested for a high floor. However, the reception staff were very helpful and they changed our room to one on the upper floor. The room was very large, clean and with a fantastic terrace from which we saw the sunset in the evening. We had opted for the half board formula. Meals are served in the main restaurant near the reception. Both breakfast and dinner are very varied and with very high food quality. There are also themed evenings (such as the Italian evening, the Mexican evening or the Japanese evening) and all the food that I have eaten I have always found it very good and well prepared. There is never a shortage of alternatives for those who are allergic or intolerant or vegetarian or vegan. the resort has very large and very clean swimming pools suitable for children and adults. the resort also has a small private beach with free umbrellas and sunbeds. bar service is also provided. I have always found the staff very kind, very knowledgeable and very helpful. For all these reasons I highly recommend staying at the Astir Odysseus.

Took a long time to choose this hotel-it didn't tick all our boxes as it wasn't adults only , but, in the end that really didn't matter. There is plenty of room and no way do children impact upon your enjoyment. This is a well planned out hotel and the staff really are exceptional -nothing is too much trouble and they are so friendly. We had a golf cart to take us to our room and pick us up at the end of our stay-all well organised. I would strongly recommend a room with sharing pool-we loved ours. We went in one of the large pools-minutes from our room for Aqua classes which were fun and spent time on the beach. Take water shoes-it is very stoney !The App on your phone to order drinks is great too when you are out and about. Food on offer was always good -the pizza in the beach bar were fabulous. Such variety everywhere that you really were spoilt for choice-but, you could certainly eat healthily with loads of fish, salads, fruit as well as the odd pizza ! Our room was very comfortable with the required air conditioning, plenty of storage space, safe and fridge restocked daily. Large walk in shower and very comfortable bed ! We hopped on the bus outside to visit Kos Town -2 Euros-sadly the return bus failed to turn up so we had to share a taxi , but, that was only 14 Euros between 2 couples. The entertainment varied -we missed the star gazing unfortunately, but, the Turkish dancing was very good. Shows in the amphitheatre were so so -room for improvement-but, again very comfortable and plenty of staff to get drinks. Personally, I thought both the red and white wines were pretty awful, but, the beers were very acceptable. Thoroughly recommend this hotel !

This was our second visit to this hotel. The first was at the end of covid so wanted to return and see the island. This hotel is spotleclean,2 amazing pools...1 is a quiter pool near to the main buildings and the 2nd is the lagoon pool next to the private beach. Amazing place to see the sunset. Rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. The staff are friendly and hard working...always said good morning or hello. There are 2 restaurants...the main buffet restaurant has a large choice ..some nights they have a theme...Mexican,Greek,Italian,asian and gala night. The 2nd restaurant is the Argo situated on the beach front...bbq lunch and open in the evening for A la carte...all inclusive get 1 meal per 7 days and if you want another night it's 40% off. They have the exclusivi app which you can use to book the Argo or order your drinks which are delivered to your sunbed. I would highly recommend this hotel... The restaurant staff were so friendly...we had Irena serve us and another lady I can't remember her name. If you want a bit of luxury make this your choice in Kos.
