Oceans 5 is a great dive shop for anyone looking to get certified at all levels! The team is made of amazing and passionate instructors and people and their dive shop and bungalows are some of the best on the island. My mom sister and I all got certified (open water & advanced open water) and the whole team made all of us feel safe and confident in the new skills we learned. The shop's location couldn't be any more perfect and you can just tell thats theirs passion and spirit at this dive shop. I highly recommend anyone looking to get scuba certified on their trip to Gili Air to consider Oceans 5. Thanks for memories team :)

When going to Indonesia, I knew beforehand that I wanted to get my PADI licence, and Gili Air seemed the perfect place to get it. My hostel pointed me towards Oceans 5, and I'm very happy for it. I definitely learned a lot in those three days, but most of all I had a great time. I saw some amazing sea creatures, including a shark, an octopus and a ton of sea turtles. It seemed that this diving school was more professional than the other schools with their private pool for the first (safe) diving experience and with their nice boats and gear. I'd recommend Oceans 5 to everyone!

What a lovely group of people to meet on an island paradise. Chelle and Dayana at the front desk were brilliant when planning and organising my stay and giving advise on where to go to eat and what to do whilst I was there, and no matter how busy things got, they were always warm and approachable.
The resort is clean, tidy and carries a "secret garden" charm to it in places. Everyone there is so relaxed and friendly whether you've met them before or not - there's never a shortage of banter, stories, cats, tea or coffee to be had. And if you just want to sit, read, swim, sunbathe then you can do those too. It's 30 seconds from a beach, 2min from the dock, 10min from a decent view for a sunset or a sunrise. Even the geckos are friendly there.
It's adjacent a lovely coffee shop - coffee and thyme. The food and drink is fresh and lovely!
Yes it's a dive centre so much of the daily hustle and bustle (such as it can be for a lovely and quiet paradise island) is centred on people diving, but you don't have to dive to stay there and you don't have to be tempted.
I can't recommend this beautiful place and 'family' enough. And to finish my title for this review off: "They're like a family that have an open door policy to their Sunday Roast...as long as you don't mind it being served underwater whilst Waz eats upside down and Ary tries to spear his brussel sprouts with a harpoon." They are divers, after all.

My girlfriend and I spent over a month doing this Dive Master course. This was our 5th time in the island and diving with them. The reason why you go back to the same place over and over is simple, because of the way they take care of people, their empathy, their professionalism, their enthusiasm and emphasis on doing things the right way, being respectful and responsible with everything and everyone and of course, because we feel comfortable, we feel like at home. We’ve been to many diving spots around the world, and the safety and seriousness that we feel diving with them makes a big difference, makes them a top 1 in the world. There’s a great team of instructors and dive masters that will make every guest feel like part of the family. Hupla for all of you guys and the ones that we met on previous years, we’ll be back soon!!

I had heard great things and read a lot online prior to choosing Oceans5 to complete my Divemaster course, and was not disappointed. From first making contact the office staff were incredibly helpful, providing me with endless amounts of information prior to my arrival making the process so easy. I also stayed in one of the bungalows for a short time and was very impressed. If diving, paradise islands and a great resort is what you are looking for, then look no further. You will not be disappointed!!

Our family stayed at Oceans 5 while our two older children aged 10 and 14 got their junior divers certification. The villas were comfortable and clean and very convenient when we took classes or went on dives. The classes for our kids were fantastic. We have a younger child who was not old enough to dive, but my husband and I were able to split up and take turns diving with our older kids while the other snorkeled with the younger one. We joined the dives with our kids, and were soon so comfortable with the instruction and care given our kids while learning to dive that we let them go on their own with their instructors and dive masters on the last day. The whole experience was wonderful. Highly recommended as a place to stay and get certified, especially if you have kids.

My stay was in october 2017. The place was well equipped and the personel prepared to receive divers. Althought I did not scuba dive, it was easy to see the structure. The hut offered air condicioning, hot water and confortable beds.

We were there during the Eid Mubarak holidays and got certified AOW by Oceans 5 Dive Resort. Diving were wonderful, most of the dive sites are within a short boat ride. And if you are up for some night diving, the house jetty reef right in front of the resort offers some great creatures. Ary (Instructor) and Tim Tam (guide) and the crew hands took good care of us and ensure that we are safe at all times. As it was during Eid Mubarak many restaurants were closed, Chelle was kind and helpful to share information and restaurants which are opened during that time. Last but not least, Sander who always greets us with a smile making us ever so welcomed in the resort.
Hope to return again and keep up the great job, guys!

I travelled to Gili Air to meet a friend this month. Indonesia has relaxed quarantine rules a lot and my main aim was to get to Gili Air.
I was not disappointed. Despite obvious and tragic results for this magical island that Covid caused they are building themselves up again.
I decided to do some diving. Having worked as a dive instructor and dived for fun around the world, with a huge number of dive resorts/shops, Oceans5 seemed like a good option.
I am so glad I did! I have dived with some bad shops, but Oceans5 exceeded my expectations!!!!
The shop is perfectly situated for ease of getting out into the ocean, it’s a 10 second walk to the boat! The super amazing dive sites are within 15-20 minutes on the organised and relaxed boat.
Safety, which I believe is key, is paramount to this company, they have all emergency equipment (not that you’ll need it because everything is super safe) and the staff and boat crew are super helpful. If something did go wrong they are perfectly placed to sort it immediately!
The diving is awesome, tons of sharks and huge turtles, awesome macro and fun wrecks to explore.
The staff are simply incredible. I wanted to use nitrox for some of the deeper dives, so I managed to get a one on one super fun and cool instructor Irlando who took me out. But I dived with other staff too who were knowledgeable about the sites and where to find the small stuff. Huge huge HUGE shout out to all of the team because they made my trip more than incredible!!!
The owner is incredibly friendly, helpful, and will do whatever he can to make sure your expectations are met. He makes sure that the dive sites are suited to everyone, from beginner to experienced, and we even got to choose our dive site. Obviously that has limitations but they do all they can to make you happy and give you a variety of sites to explore. It’s set up for newbies and pro’s, everyone is happy!
Everything is set up for you, the staff do anything you want them to, (within reason) they are friendly, funny, super helpful and you will leave having had the best day!
I cannot wait to return, I cannot praise this dive school enough.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at Oceans 5 and thought it was fantastic.
We planned to dive there and stay at Scallywags but decided to move to their Family Bungalow after 2 days as our teenage girls wanted to use the pool (and it saved walking between the two).
Chelle and all the staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating.
The dive staff are all very friendly and experienced and help you set up and get kit on and off the boat.
The family room is clean and spacious with loads of room for our girls (many, many!) clothes. We were downstairs and they had a side each upstairs.
The breakfasts are good and restaurant staff friendly.
I would recommend a stay/ dive here to anyone, particularly families.
