I do not recommend this hotel. Its a nice island, but our hotel experience ruined it. We got a room that was dirty and did not look like the picture. There was a thin door to the neighbors, and therefore we heard everything they said. Our air conditioning leaked so we got a better room. This was kind, but the same thing happened in this room. This room was much nicer tho. But our towels were dirty and we didn't get a good feeling about being here. Everything here at this resort needs clean up. Its a okey location, close to everything! I think we were unlucky and that others may like it. But I know there is so much nicer places on the island!! I considered this hotel expensive compared to others we have stayed in and what I saw on Gili Air
We arrived at 11am...3 hours later our room still wasn't ready. We asked to use their bikes but they were all broken. All of them, so we went to the pool which was dirty. We finally walked up the street and found a great hotel that let us right in for half the price. Called the sapario. Great clean pool and we ended up staying 4 nights because they were awesome.
I considered this hotel expensive compared to others we have stayed in. The TV only showed Indonesian shows. The pebbled feature floor in the bathroom was filthy, obviously never scrubbed and water dripped down the side of the toilet. The massages were 40,000 rupiah over the normal charge for a massage on Lombok. Not worth the $65 a night for an ordinary room. Everything here at this resort needs a good clean up. Breakfast was OK. Quite often ran out of Indonesian food but omelettes always. available. My sister paid for the top room with a large TV but unfortunately the music from the restaurant was so loud it was not enjoyable. The music stopped about 10pm. I would not recommend this hotel.
One of the more basic places I stayed in, Villa Karang provided everything I needed to relax and enjoy my stay on Gili Air. The air con was excellent and the food was delicious. Gili Air is tiny (you can walk around it at a healthy pace in 45 minutes) and the hotel was located really close to the landing spot for the boats so not too far to walk with your luggage. There are no cars on Gili Air so if you don’t want to carry or drag your luggage in the blistering heat you can pay a guy with a horse and cart to take you to your hotel. Villa Karang has a private pool for its residents and, if you want to take the relaxation to the next level, an onsite salon for beauty treatments.
We stayed here for 5 nights. Located close to the harbour so handy to walk with your luggage. Super fast check in. Quaint little hotel with lovely rooms. Lovely staff. Some actual paved footpaths in the hotel would be nice as all the paths are dirt tracks really. This hotel was quite full when we stayed. Breakfast was quite basic but more than enough. The rooms were big enough for the 3 of us and had a huge bathroom, big enough to store your luggage. There is alot of boats parked out the front of this hotel, also a spa and little shop selling basics. This was our first time to Gili Air and it is a very busy little island. Quite easy to walk the whole island, just over an hour according to my husband. My only complaint would be lack of ice blocks!! Not the hotels fault as they did give us some a few times but my tip would be if you like ice in your drink take some disposable ice cube trays.…
