This place is in a great location, only like 5 minute walk from the main strip on the Eastern side of the island. Is about 15 minutes from all the night clubs. This place is very budget oriented and is usually even cheaper if you book through them directly rather than through a booking site. The hostel has great facilities with free gym access, and currently the only gym on the island. Breakfast can be included for 15k ($1 usd) a day and the bar sells a variety food, protein shakes (definitely try the wolverine), coffee, tea, cocktails, juices, beers, etc all at very reasonable prices. The pool is nice, big, and clean, and has bar access pool side so you can just put all your drinks on a tab and pay whenever you please. The staff at gili fit are really knowledgeable and speak English probably better than me. This place has a real focus on sustainability so you'll see that they endorse you to refill water bottles rather than buying a new one as well as other initiatives like helping with the beach clean. I loved my time at gili fit and 100% will be returning there next time I visit gili trawangan. …
Me and my partner stayed here 2 nights in November, we’d taken fastboat to Gili t for 2 nights from Bali. We liked the location in a bit of a quieter spot inland/north of the harbour and main strip where it’s most lively! Check in was smooth we didn’t have breakfast included in price but decided to pay 20k each pppn for breakfast. Our room was fine we were in pod 2. I had mistakenly booked twin room which was bunk beds. They were not comfy at all and very creeky/rickety but bearable for 2 nights. The cover was a small sheet that barely covers you (I’m only 5’4 so wouldn’t count on it covering much more than half a fully grown man!) rooms were basic (literally only a bunk bed and a/c unit and cupboard to put luggage, a plug point and reading light-that’s it no mirror or sink or anything like that-but fine for us and what we paid it was good value (294k for 2 people 2 nights -exc breakfast). Shared toilets/shower-upstairs which are very clean and fresh. All rooms from what i could see overlook the pool/garden area so not sure why some advertise this and some not? Breakfast is basic, only 4 options (see pic) anything else you have to pay extra-note you only get one choice so you can’t chose the free/included option then get the subsidised cost of option 2. You would have to pay full (menu) price if choosing a second option-which is not clear on the menu. Also, the extras e.g bacon etc they are very frugal with portions-you literally get ONE slice of bacon for 10k i questioned this but was told that’s just the way it is. Also no fruit option on the breakfast included option-what’s that all about? we thought that breakfast overall was pretty bad value (considering it’s a budget travellers hostel!) other than that it’s a brilliant hostel. The gym is great-everything you need to do a workout. There’s a cardio studio then the weights studio and also some freebody weights bars outside to use. A small basketball area too. We hired bikes for a reasonable 30k for 24hrs. Cycled round the island, watched the sun go down from the west side (bikes with normal tyres are fine in the main-only had to get off to walk over the sand at a few parts-mainly north of the island). We also booked the snorkelling tour from reception-100k each for 3 island snorkelling tour-so cheap!! The staff are very cheery and pleasant. The Indonesian woman on reception was very helpful telling us things to do and where they were on the island. So cheery and lovely. Overall we had a great stay. Would definitely stay here again as such good value with the gym but probably wouldn’t include breakfast! :)…
I didn’t stay here, I just went to use the gym. A day pass is only 50k (5 bucks AU) but after arriving I dont even feel it was worth that! The gym is tiny and worn down, you get a mixture if rust and dirt on your hands from using the bench press bar and the place was a complete mess. Considering its the only gym on the island, I expected much better. The one thing i was happy about was the bars outside for dips and pullups, but they are right at the entrance which made no sense as I just felt in the way of people entering and exiting the junkyard of a place. 1/10
I stayed 3 nights, the beds were comfy and big enough. They have a nice pool and a terrace with a great view. Went to the gym everyday. They also serve good breakfast I forgot my necklace there and the staff was very helpful to me and sent it to a hostel for me to pick it up! I will for sure return on my next stay in Gili T and can recommend this place!
This place is literally a building site. The staff cant even be bothered to tidy away tools. We checked in and then checked out again straight away and went some place else. Dont waste your time. Also during our brief visit we had a beer at the bar, the staff kept trying to sell us magic mushrooms, speechless.
We checked in then checked out! The place is a building site, there's dirt and dust everywhere. The showers were dirty the only room people were using was the gym. However once it is done I think it will be a decent place to stay, as the pool their building looks massive and it looked like there were new rooms being built, so maybe in a few months! On the upside the staff were very friendly and it's was only a short walk to the beach
If you want to go to the gym 24/7 with no sleep this is the place for you (Equipment is not maintained) Building work throughout the day, lots of noise Get woken up by builders at 6.30am drilling tiles for the pool Apparently the pool was meant to be finished 1 month ago so perhaps give it 2 months till you stay Pool looks amazing so it will be nice when it's finished The beds were clean but the mattresses were old and there was a sunken patch in the middle where it's been slept on so much. Wasn't comfy The rest of the room wasn't clean there was lots of dust in your own little bed capsule. Lots of cobwebs around the place. A dust once a week would clean this place right up There were bugs and dirt under the bed in the lockers again a quick sweep once a week would make it much nicer Also a few pillow covers would make the bar look nicer It's about a 10 min walk from the main bars and it's a quiet, dark, dusty road so just beware if you are traveling alone…
If you expect some nice room, nice showers and nice gym, don't stay here. They are building a new swimming pool and new accomodation, so the workers start working at 6in the morning. The room are really basics, with small matress made of plastic. Don't expect a lot of water pressure in the shower, and the breakfast is quite small. I havent used the gym part, but a lot of people were using it often. A part from that, the staff is really nice, and my stay wasnt that awfull. Good if you don't need any kinf of luxury.
You shouldn't expect much when we pay these kind of prices. It's a cool place, with an awesome bar upstairs. When we saw our room, I tried to push past how dirty it was. There were dead insects everywhere and the mattresses were like plastic. But when a bed bug jumped onto my arm... I knew we couldn't stay here. The staff however were very very apologetic and gave us our money back straight away. So thumbs up for how they responded :)
Whilst we appreciated the work that was going on at this hostel, we found the huts (basic room) to be too small to move around in, noisy and to have a lot of bugs. The beds weren't comfortable and you rolled into the middle hitting the other person. Wouldn't return.
