- Good location: not far from center but enough away to avoid the noisy bars - Breakfast are standard quality for Gili Trawangan - Really not clean: floor, sheets, bathroom. They have a problem with the plumbery and it can smell bad after a shower... - No Wifi. Electricity is weak in the whole street (it can be shut down... More

Good: Clean, excellent wifi, friendly staff, feels safe, quiet, good location, open-roofed bathroom (although this also has its disadvantages) Less good: I've seen a few reviews mentioning breakfast but it wasn't offered to us or listed anywhere, the bamboo floor of the room was painful to walk on, the room was warm and the oscillating fan couldn't be directed at... Stayed in Pondok Sederhana for 3 nights with 2 other female friends. Took us a whole to find it because it's down a lot of little lanes, but managed! When we got there the room wasn't cleaned yet so had to wait on our balcony, but no major drama for us. Rooms are very basic, no aircon, cold shower (which... More

... Or unless you're gypped by Black Sand homestay, who don't honour your bookings and send you here. The rooms were decently spaced but filthy. The toilets were a total horror. No latch, dirty, rusted, the sink tap leaked, and worst of all - the ruddy toilet flush was to be pulled using a string. See the pics, I'm quite... More

Rooms could be cleaner. Bed could be more comfortable. Bathroom was a fright. Not unclean as such but old, unmaintained and rusty. The basin tap had no washer. The loo had to be flushed by pulling on a piece of yarn because the handle was missing. Morning breakfasts are meh.

The location was too far from the beach and I personally think that the rate was too expensive. It was IDR 350,000 per night for a room with a fan only (no AC) and they even didn't have a pool. It took 10-15 minutes to get to the beach. Luckily we booked only for one night and on the next... More
